This old cast iron latch is for a barn door. It appears to have originally been black enamel and someone painted it with a light coat of brown. You could easily remove the brown with a little paint remover. If you prefer. It was made by"Allith Mfg. Co. Chicago, Ill. and this is printed on the front. Pat. Pend. is printed on the latch. The base plate is 4.3 inches by 2.4 inches and the total length of the latch is 7 inches. Excellent working condition.
