3 Vintage Bakelite Door Handles& 1 Handle Cap All are in good condition with only light wear. No chips or cracks. The paint should come off easily. One handle is round and very dark brown. Approx 4.2cm in diameter x 5.7cm deep. The other two are the same shape. One is slightly darker than the other but not by much. The lighter one has a small spot of wear on the top. It is approx 4.7cm in diameter x 5.1cm deep. The original rod is still attached and has two holes on either end. The rod is approx 10.5cm long x 7.25mm wide. The darker one is It is approx 4.8cm in diameter x 5.0cm deep. The original rod is still attached and has two holes on either end. The rod is approx 9.5cm long x 7.25cm wide. 8 brown bakelite finger plates. They measure almost 8 inches high. No cracks or splits and just the odd very. Very minor nibble. One keyhole has been opened up a little I think. Just the odd speck of paint here and there. I have given them a quick clean but they could do with a proper one. Some shade variation. The bottom screw holes have brass inserts. POSTAGE. Unusual Vintage Bakelite?Celluoid?Plastic? Door Handle/Knob/& Lock Plates
Nice unusual Door Knob and lock plate set. I'm not sure what they are made of. They are not metal. They could be bakelite, celluloid, plastic just not sure. They are in very good condition. There are a few minor chips inside of where the handle fits, they will not be seen when handle is installed, other that there is no other damage noted to the item. They do have some paint residue on edges, which can be cleaned, I just wasn't sure what to use or how to do it, didn't want to damage them. They are a rich dark brown in color. Lock plates are approx. 6" in length, Handle is approx. 3" and the knob is 1 3/8" across. Maybe from the 1920's or 1930's. Any questions please ask, thank you for looking!

Simple, yet well designed, set of six(6) black gloss bakelite/celluloid? handles date to the Art Deco or 1950,s period. The stylish elongated body of the handles have been designed with a slight raised curvature. Terminating in points at both ends. Must likely originally used for a set of drawers or cabinet doors. Each handle has a total length of 102mm and a width at the widest point of 15mm. The screw holes have an internal width of 3mm whilst the centre of the two fixing holes measure 76mm. Considering there vintage age the handles are in good clean condition. With no breaks, however two pieces has very minor wear to edges, hardly noticable, mentioned for accuracy to potential buyers. 2 pair Vintage green door handle knob Unused from box 1950s. Backplate Bakelite?
I'm selling a collection of vintage architectural fittings and fixtures that came from the stockroom of a long-since retired joiner. A lot of the items look to be from the 1940s or 1950s and are unused and still packed in the original boxes. I've split the collection into various lots. This is one of the lots. Two pair of well-made original vintage plastic interior door handles or knobs. Unused and from the original pack. The handles are in a bright mint green plastic. Are round in shape and have a gently faceted edge detail. I would guess the handles date from the 1950s or early 1960s. Each pair of handles is ready to fit and complete with a backplate(I think there is only on backplate as these handles were designed to be used with a rim lock on one side of the door) adjustable position centre steel bar with fixing screws, 2 washers, ... morea keyhole escutcheon, and rounded-headed wood screws from a small packet that was in the pack. Please note that the pack shown is NOT included with these handles, I have just shown the label for information only. Described as Lacrinoid Door Furniture, they were manufactured in Great Britain. As a guide, the backplate on each handle is approximately 2 and three-eighths of an inch(6cm) in diameter and is stamped L.P. Ltd. The handles are genuine vintage items. They have never been fitted, therefore they're in good clean condition. There are no signs of use, scratches, damage, etc. However due to age, there may be some very slight tarnishing to the fixing bar and screws but nothing too bad. Please see the photos as a further guide to style and condition. Colourful retro handles in great condition. I'll carefull pack the items and send by Second Class post. 4 large RED Vintage Bakelite Door Pulls w/ brass fittings. 10" long Handle Knob
Set of 4 very old red Bakelite( catalin) 10" long door pulls with cast brass fittings. Wonderful patina and in good. All original condition. The handles are 10" long and 1-1/16" in diameter. The cast brass mounts(I believe these are brass even though the coloring from age makes them look more like aged copper) come with their original bolts which I show attached in the photos but they easily remove. Those mounting holes measure 6" apart(center of one hole to the other) These are very substantial, heavy duty handles that weigh a full 1-1/2 lbs each. Antique/Vintage Black Bakelite Door 4-Knob Set
This auction is for an Antique/Vintage Black Bakelite Door 4-Knob Set with center post. Four ornate back plates and appropriate securing screws. This 4-knob set is in very good condition for it's age which would be late 1800s- early 1900s. Two of the knobs show wear that has gone through the top black color into the white under color. Easy to fix. The back plate design looks like a very stylized floral pattern- perhaps geometric design. There are three screw securing holes. This is an unusual vintage door knob. It does show damage to the outer covering. I believe it to be Bakelite or a very hard rubber. The center circles and backing is metal. The spacer bar is attached. Vintage. metal inside rings and black Bakelite or rubber outer handle. one knob shows a good deal of sheering and damage the other shows more average use. Vintage round bakelite door knobs in rare off-white cream colour with metal square ended bar. Adjustable to different spacing between handles with 3 screw holes at one end and 4 the other. One screw is present- the other is missing but easily replaced as just an ordinary screw. Handles are in very good condition. One having only the tiniest of flaws, the other being slightly discoloured and with a couple of very small chips on the round part and a couple more very tiny chips round the screw hole. Circa 1930's.

VINTAGE BAKELITE DOOR HANDLES. By R.E. S. Made in ENGLAND, retro. Removed from the hall cupboard doors of our recently bought 1930s semi. I am guessing that they are made of Bakelite. As they look very similar to the brown switches and plugs of many decades ago. The visible side is caked in decades of paint, but the partly unpainted rear side bears the brand name, R.E. S. Made in England. I am sure they can be restored to their former glory by someone with more skill and patience than myself. The four brass screws look like the originals. But the chrome? or brass? caps from the ends of them have disappeared. There are two unmatched ones which I will include which may help the buyer source something suitable. Up for bid is a vintage screen door knob w original plates& latch. We believe the middle part of round knob is bakelite but cannot be for sure. The knob turn and the handle plate has its lock that slides as it should. The mechanism will need oiled as when you turn knobs the latch does not go in& out as it should. Recovered from an attic in the house to which these handles were probably original. This is in good used condition. Vintage Bakelite Door Knobs-Antique Industrial Hardware-Pair-Beautiful Polished!
Pair of vintage Bakelite door knobs. Probably early 20th century. Knobs measure 2 1/2" by 1 3/4" 2" face to rear edge. Both are in very good condition with no visible damage. No gouges. Scratches or cracks in main knobs. Both have the expected hairline crack coming off the set screw hole to the end edge. Cracks does not go into the knob and the Bakelite is not coming apart from the steel insert for shaft. These cracks are usually covered by the door cover plate. Beautifully polished with great shine! Matching in size and shape. They only difference is one is the expected Bakelite dark brown with subtle speckles and the other is solid black. The same but different. Comes with steel 3/8" square shaft. Knobs do not have the set screws. Those are hardware store parts. Nice old knobs that display very well!
