For your consideration. 1 Lovely solid Brass ornamental Door lockset medallion ring. Weighs almost 2 pounds, overall diameter is 7" inner hole diameter 2-1/8" A unique piece of door bling Pulled from an old mansion I worked in during the early 1980's along the Chicago Northshore which is the only info of origin I have. Perfect for that large showcase door for someone beyond the Kwikset budget such as myself. Antique French Solid Brass Entry Door Lockset Set Knob Plate Escutcheon Lock Key
Penn Antique Restoration. Antique French Style Entry Door Set Knobs Plate Lock Key. Wonderful. Antique, entry door lockset made by"Russell& Erwin Mfg. Co. of New Britain, CT around the turn of the previous century. The set consists of 2 cast brass knobs, 2 stamped brass escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze faceplate, 2 working keys, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 set screws to connect the knobs. All brass/bronze parts are solid brass/bronze, not brass plated steel. The knobs and escutcheons have a stunning French style design featuring fleur de lis. Prim roses, leaves, cartouches, and various geometric shapes. All parts were found dirty and unevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then. We've clea ned and polished all parts to a uniform finish. There is a break in the upper right corner of ... morethe cover plate of the lock body. The break does not hinder the set's functionality and once the lock is installed in your door. It will be concealed. There are also some shallow dents and light scratches on the lock's faceplate. The rest of the parts are in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, or deep scratches. The lock was opened. Inspected, and we sprayed machine oil on and around all parts to facilitate their movement. We also made 2 keys to operate the lock, and we could make more for $6/key-email us after the auction if you are interested. Most antique. Exterior locksets have one, grand escutcheon for the front of the door, and 2 or 3 smaller, less attractive plates for the back. It is as found/shown and the items were wrapped in a box with the end label inside. The items are cast iron and solid brass with a smooth working key. Penn Antique Restoration. Vintage"Norwalk" NOS Brass Door Set w/Knobs. Plates, Lock, Key. Exquisite. Heavy-duty, vintage entry set made by"Norwalk Lock Co. of Norwalk, CT sometime during the first half of the previous century. It consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 brass escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with a brass faceplate, 1 bronze mortise cylinder w/1 working key& 1 brass anti-theft collar, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, 1 split spindle with 2 setscrews, and 12 installation screws. All brass parts are solid brass, not plated steel. At the point of salvage. The set was missing a knob. We found one in our collection that is a near match to the knob found with the set. The knob we found was tarnished, and although we cleaned and polished it to the best of our ability, it doesn't have the same mirror-finish of the ... morerest of the parts. However, as time goes on and all of the parts begin to tarnish, they will eventually have a similar finish. The lock is reversible and could accommodate the swing of any door. This set is considered. New Old Stock, which means that it was made a long time ago but was never used. Aside from a few light scuffs here and there, all parts are in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, or deep scratches. The lock was opened inspected and we sprayed grease on and around all internal parts to facilitate their movement. The lock operates smoothly. It's tough to find complete. Vintage sets in such fantastic condition. With all parts included, this set will be ready to install as soon as it arrives. Penn Antique Restoration. Antique"Corbin" Colonial Brass Door Set w/Knobs. Plates, Lock& 2 Keys. Handsome. Antique, exterior door lockset salvaged from Northeastern Illinois. The set consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 stamped brass escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with a brass faceplate, 2 working keys, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 split spindle with 2 setscrews to connect the knobs. All brass parts are solid brass, not plated iron. We found the set with a nice. Original, patina, which we didn't want to disturb. There are a few spots of white paint, and some paint along the edges of the lock faceplate, strike plate, and exterior escutcheon. If you prefer your hardware bright and shiny or at least with a uniform finish, we could clean and polish the set prior to shipping for an additional $25-email us after the ... moreauction if you're interested. The knobs have a few. Very subtle dents, as does the lock faceplate. Otherwise, all parts just have the tiny nicks and light scratches that you would expect to find on old, used hardware. However, there are no breaks, deep scratches, gouges, or cracks. About the lock: The lock is reversible and could accommodate the swing of any door. The buttons on the lock faceplate control a function. Which disables/enables the exterior knob from turning. Once the bottom button is depressed, the exterior knob will not turn, and the upper latch will remain extended, in the locked position. In essence, the upper latch acts as a deadbolt and provides an extra level of security from anyone on the outside of the door. Once the exterior knob is frozen, and the door is shut, the only way to retract the upper latch is by using the key for the top keyhole, or by turning the interior knob. This is a very convenient feature for the person inside of the house/room. No more locking and unlocking to let someone in. Simply turn the knob, open the door, let someone in, close the door and it's already locked. To disable the auto-lock feature, simply push the top button.
