We think this was made to work on wooden doors. But think it would work on metal or aluminum if you used different screws. Has a twist lock mechanism so door cannot be opened if desired. Vintage 1940's Solid Brass Screen Storm Door Handle
Up for sale is a vintage used solid brass screen or storm door handle. Not sure of the exact age. But probably from the 1940's era. I do NOT have the latch or screws that originally came with this handle. The handle has some scratches and wear from use. But the brass shines up well. One side of the handle is a golden brass color, but the edge and the back side have more of a coppery brass color. Please check out the pictures for the exact condition. This handle is in perfect working condition. The metal piece that slides and locks the handle in place works as well. The only stamping on this handle is"pat. pend. stamped on the locking device. Stanley brass Mid Century screen storm door handle latch
A pair( not quite) of Stanley screen storm door latches. By looking at the instruction sheet there is 1 strike plate and the mounting screws are missing. The exposed parts are made of solid brass. not plated brass) The brass has some areas of tarnish and fine scratches from being shuffled around in the box over the years. the fine scratches are nothing that distracts from anything) The latches have a lever that allows the door to be locked from the inside of the house. The set consists of 1 knob, 1 lever, 2 stamped escutcheons, 1 barrel lock, 1 strike plate for the door jamb, 1 spindle with 2 setscrews to connect the knob& lever, 4 installation screws to secure the escutcheons to the door, and the original box and installation template. Vintage 1950's 1960's Wartian Hydraulic Door Closer Aluminum Wood Screen Storm
You are bidding on a Vintage 1950's or 1960's Wartian Door Closer for Aluminum or Wood Screen Doors. They do not make these storm door plunger's like they used to. This plunger definitely has a vintage look to it. Not sure if this has ever been used. It was purchased at a farm auction in Wisconsin yesterday. It has only the hardware shown in the first photo. And please note that it DOES NOT have a chrome latch as stated on the box. This is pre 1964 unit as there is no zip code on the box. If you are looking for a period door closer for your vintage aluminum or wood storm door. Why not consider this well made vintage closure. I have not tried it so you are buying it as is. It looks like it's in great shape though as you can see from the photos. The box has one rear corner torn. But the instruction sheet has no issues at all.
