Threaded spindles, back plates, mortise locksets, strike plates, and a fair amount of brass screws in a few different sizes and shapes. They only thing not included in this collection are the Skeleton Keys for the locksets. As with most antique hardware and knobs, these pieces have old white paint on them.some just a spot or two, others a a full brush stoke. The paint is easy to remove from the knobs and the face plates. One of the glass knobs has some surface scratches on the end of the knob, otherwise eggsellent condition with no chips or cracks. ... moreA couple of the brass face plates and rosettes might have a dint or minor dent- nothing major, but noted for accuracy. There are a total of 23 antique clear glass door knobs and a single old hollow metal door knob. I was able to assemble 7 complete door knob sets. One set has been finished in chrome on one side and has matching hardware(a strike plate. Latch and rosette face plate, all in silver with silver screws) Two of the connector loops on the actual latch mechanisms are bent and need repair or replacement. The door knob sets that I put together include the following parts: 2 glass door knobs( 2 of the door knobs are missing one brass tightening screw each) a threaded spindle with latch mechanism in the middle a door latch a strike plate to match 2 brass rosette face plates for the knobs 8 screws. 4 rounded smaller ones for the rosettes& 4 flat top brass screws for the latch and strike plates There is a large door knob and lockset that I pieced together– I am not sure if I put it together right. There are many images so be sure to scroll down to view them. This is one of two matching but different sizes fancy entrance door hardware sets that I am listing. This auction is for the ones pictured herewith consisting of two brass plates that measure 11 3/4" tall and at widest are 3 1/4" They are very fancy and looks like a heart design at top. With it are two locks and two rings and two screws. The locks are marked Made in USA 156. There are no keys. The mortise with the brass faceplate attached is marked B L Co. and I am showing a close up of that. The doors knobs are oval and they do match but the one is smaller than the other and I think that is probably original. Vintage Door Knob Parts: Mortise Knobs, Face Plates, Striker Plates…
This auction includes over two dozen pieces for renovating that ole farm house or for your vintage décor. Five of the six mortise items have faceplates. The broken mortise seems to work in spite of its condition. The old Yale lock can probably be used with the unusual striker plate but I don’t think they are a pair. The striker plate has the numbers 4237 on it. Four of the five knobs are antique and the other one is probably meant for a mobile home. Antique door hardware has white painted back plates, glass door knobs and a cast iron mortise lock mechanism with a turn- knob back-set of 2 3/8" 2- back plates. 2 5/8"wide x 8" high, pressed metal. 2- 2" diameter glass knobs. Well-matched; however, one base is solid brass and the other is of brass-plated metal. 1- cast iron mortise lock/cylinder mechanism measuring 1/2" wide x 3" deep x 3 5/8" high with attached 7/8" x 5 1/4" face-plate. 1- 3 1/8" long threaded latch-turning shaft. The set does not include a key or latch catch. Everything is in good condition and operates well; with minor rust.

2 SETS OF RARE ANTIQUE GLASS DOOR KNOBS, SARGENT MORTISE LOCKS AND BACK PLATES
This is a rare 100 year old package up for auction. We've been in the demolition business since may 2004. Salvaging on average between 150-200 houses per year. We have an extremely large amount of antique hardware of all kinds that is slowly being sold on this site. In all of our projects we have only come across these particular sets one time. Even throughout this site there are very few"antique" Sargent& Co. items. If what other sellers on here are asking just for the Sargent mortise locks are the average price. Then what i am offering is a bargain. Anyway. Included in this package are: 4(2 sets of) octagon glass door knobs. All have been cleaned from any dirt or paint and are in decent condition with no chips. There are a couple of minor scratches that i've tried to highlight in the last 2 pics. What makes these so ... morerare is that they are rounder at the top. Where as most are flat. 2 Sargent& Co.Easy Spring mortise locks.each measure at 4 3/8" long x 3 1/8" wide. They have a brass face that measures at 6 9/16" long. 4 solid brass Sargent& Co. back plates.each measure at 7 1/8" long x 2 1/2" wide. 2 solid brass strike plates(much thicker and heavier than the average plate)each measure at 4 1/4" long x 1 1/8" wide and 1 13/16" at the widest part. included as well are the original slot head screws.all but the biggest 4 are brass. Vintage/ antique art deco multi- faceted clear glass door knob set with a Penn mortise. Two ornate door back plates and the strike plate. Works great. Mortise box is about 3-1/4" square, back plates are 6" tall and about 1-3/4" wide and the strike plate 3-1/4" tall and 7/8" wide. The glass door knobs are just under 2" in diameter. These are steel with copper and smoke finish on the back plates, strike plates and lock faces. Some of the black porcelain handles still have a hint of copper tone on the metal. The mortise lock boxes are marked Russell& Erwin MFG. New Britain Conn.USA Pat Jan 28, 89 June 11, 89. Included is a bag of screws and some washers for the handles. The handle catches can be reversed, for use on right or left hand opening doors. These have a decent return spring on the handle, working skeleton key deadbolt With Key MEASUREMENTS: The back plates are 5 1/2" x 1 1/2" The locks face plates are 5 1/4" long x 7/8" wide. The lock is 3 1/8" deep from face. 3 1/2" tall, 1/2" thick. The handle center sets ... moreback 2 1/4" from face plate. The top of key hole is 2" below the center of the handle opening. Vintage/Antique 1 Door Lever w/Set Screw, 2 Back Plates, & 1 Mortise Set
This is Very Old but the Mortise Works and Lever Turns! It's worthy of restoration but it has old mechanical residue on it. It needs clean-up& small amount of paint removal to make it shine. The locking switch on one back-plate does not turn. But some soaking in Loctite might loosen it up. This set includes one Door Lever with original set-screw. Two 1 1/2" x 4" Back-plates, and one working 1 3/4" x 2 3/4" working Mortise Box. It would be good for an inside bathroom or closet door.
