Large Lot 23 Antique Glass Door Knobs Locks Mortise Brass Face Plates Latches
Please use the Supersize Feature on our pictures at the top and below the description as we consider them to be a very important part of our auctions- our photos show great detail and they are about the next best thing to"being there" Here is a big lot of vintage clear glass door knobs. Threaded spindles, back plates, mortise locksets, strike plates, and a fair amount of brass screws in a few different sizes and shapes. They only thing not included in this collection are the Skeleton Keys for the locksets. As with most antique hardware and knobs, these pieces have old white paint on them.some just a spot or two, others a a full brush stoke. The paint is easy to remove from the knobs and the face plates. One of the glass knobs has some surface scratches on the end of the knob, otherwise eggsellent condition with no chips or cracks. ... moreA couple of the brass face plates and rosettes might have a dint or minor dent- nothing major, but noted for accuracy. There are a total of 23 antique clear glass door knobs and a single old hollow metal door knob. I was able to assemble 7 complete door knob sets. One set has been finished in chrome on one side and has matching hardware(a strike plate. Latch and rosette face plate, all in silver with silver screws) Two of the connector loops on the actual latch mechanisms are bent and need repair or replacement. The door knob sets that I put together include the following parts: 2 glass door knobs( 2 of the door knobs are missing one brass tightening screw each) a threaded spindle with latch mechanism in the middle a door latch a strike plate to match 2 brass rosette face plates for the knobs 8 screws. 4 rounded smaller ones for the rosettes& 4 flat top brass screws for the latch and strike plates There is a large door knob and lockset that I pieced together– I am not sure if I put it together right. The one small lock has a face plate of 5-3/8" tall x 3/4" wide. Congratulations you are bidding on a a set of four matching Russell& Erwin mortise lock sets. Pat.Jan.28, 1889. These are steel with copper and smoke finish on the back plates, strike plates and lock faces. Some of the black porcelain handles still have a hint of copper tone on the metal. The mortise lock boxes are marked Russell& Erwin MFG. New Britain Conn.USA Pat Jan 28, 89 June 11, 89. Included is a bag of screws and some washers for the handles. The handle catches can be reversed, for use on right or left hand opening doors. These have a decent return spring on the handle, working skeleton key deadbolt With Key MEASUREMENTS: The back plates are 5 1/2" x 1 1/2" The locks face plates are 5 1/4" long x 7/8" wide. The lock is 3 1/8" deep from face. 3 1/2" tall, 1/2" thick. The handle center sets ... moreback 2 1/4" from face plate. The top of key hole is 2" below the center of the handle opening. Nice lot of door hardware. 2 of the door knobs I believe are brass have A copper color to them. The other 4 are melt and then 3 porcelain which. Seem to be pretty heavy for porcelain. One cracked as shown in photos below) 3 pressed steel oval knobs with one matching plate, 5 random brass knobs(one has small dents) 1 floral brass knob, 1 regular size steel knob, 1 mini steel knob, 1 solid wood knob(entirely wood except axle) 1 chromed brass knob, 1 mini brass knob for a mini mortise lock, 3 sets of ... morematching brass knobs. 2 of them are on mortise locks already one mini brass knob with matching lever on other side and fitting mortise lock, Also included are all the escutcheon plates. Offered are 2 vintage CLOSET DOOR LOCKSETS with large glass knobs. Brass rosettes, and steel mortise locks. The glass knobs are slightly different with one being 8 sided and 2 1/4" across and the other 8 sided and 2" across. Both locks are 3" deep, 1 5/8" wide, and 1/2" thick. The lock outside plate, which is brass, measures 3 3/8" x 7/8" x 1/8" The glass knobs and brass rosettes are for the outside of the door and the brass washed thumb turn and brass washed rosettes are for the inside of the door.
