This auction is for the ones pictured herewith consisting of two brass plates that measure 11 3/4" tall and at widest are 3 1/4" They are very fancy and looks like a heart design at top. With it are two locks and two rings and two screws. The locks are marked Made in USA 156. There are no keys. The mortise with the brass faceplate attached is marked B L Co. and I am showing a close up of that. The doors knobs are oval and they do match but the one is smaller than the other and I think that is probably original. The one measures about 2 7/8" and other 2 5/8" and they do match the design on the plates. This is a very nice all original with nice patina brass door hardware set. I guarantee it to be old and original and not a reproduction. It has been so long since these have been used that the mortise lock may need to be overhauled to work properly. They are made of metal(magnet sticks to them) and they look to have been painted black then gold. They are heavy but not solid and each knob measures 2 2/8" in diameter and 2 1/8" in total depth. Some of the paint has been worn over time so the natural metal shows through as well as the black under color. They have an ornate pattern that give them a unique look. Vintage Fancy Brass Entrance Door Set Double Plates Lock B L Co Mortise 2 Knobs
There are many images so be sure to scroll down to view them. This is one of two matching but different sizes fancy entrance door hardware sets that I am listing. This auction is for the ones pictured herewith consisting of two brass plates that measure 11 3/4" tall and at widest are 3 1/4" They are very fancy and looks like a heart design at top. With it are two locks and two rings and two screws. The locks are marked Made in USA 156. There are no keys. The mortise with the brass faceplate attached is marked B L Co. and I am showing a close up of that. The doors knobs are oval and they do match but the one is smaller than the other and I think that is probably original. The one measures about 2 7/8" and other 2 5/8" and they do match the design on the plates. This is a very nice all original with nice patina brass door ... morehardware set. There is beautiful blue/green antiquing(verdigris I believe) which gives the piece an incredible beauty. The knobs and lock work perfectly. The original key is included although I cannot remove it from the knob. The piece stands 11 1/2 inches tall. I'm not sure of the maker of this piece. Antique door hardware has white painted back plates, glass door knobs and a cast iron mortise lock mechanism with a turn- knob back-set of 2 3/8" 2- back plates. 2 5/8"wide x 8" high, pressed metal. 2- 2" diameter glass knobs. Well-matched; however, one base is solid brass and the other is of brass-plated metal. 1- cast iron mortise lock/cylinder mechanism measuring 1/2" wide x 3" deep x 3 5/8" high with attached 7/8" x 5 1/4" face-plate. 1- 3 1/8" long threaded latch-turning shaft. The set does not include a key or latch catch. Everything is in good condition and operates well; with minor rust.

What a great find! Available for purchase is a vintage. Art Deco style, unit lockset made by, President, and distributed by, Vimcar Sales Co. of Los Angeles, CA sometime around the middle of the previous century. Each set consists of a solid brass unit lock with 2 knobs, 2 plates, lock, and 4 setscrews, and a brass strike plate with 2 setscrews. Set#1 has one chrome-plated knob and plate. We have 3 other sets that were found with these. That are identical to these in design, ... morebut they lack the locking functionality that these have. Those sets were found in their original boxes, and these 2 weren't, however, we wanted to show you the boxes that these locks were originally packaged in(see last photos) These are locking. Privacy, unit locks that allow the person on the inside of the room to lock the unit with the push of a button. Once the person is ready to open the door, he/she simply turns the knob, the button retracts automatically, and the door could be opened. They were typically installed on bathroom doors, but could also be used for a bedroom or any other room requiring privacy. Their latches are reversible(see last photo for details) and they could accommodate the swing of any door. These locks could only fit doors 1 1/2" 1 3/4" thick. This is a super rare lot of 2(1 set) antique glass purple door knobs. I have never seen another set like it. Usually you find them one at a time and if you do find a set, they do not have such similar colors and patina! They have a slight variance in color and patina but are the closest to matching that I have ever seen. Vintage set of 3 Victorian Crest brass door knobs, w/stems, 2 1/4"dia, very nice
Up for sale is a set of 3 very nice vintage heavy brass door knobs. With square stems, and screws.Stems have the 3 length set holes, and the door knobs themselves are 2 1/4" in diameter.They have a really nice like victorian/royal crest stamp.One set is slightly different around the outer diameter edge, it seems a bit more rounded then the other 2 sets.Minimal flaws, just some minor dents and scratches, but they have really good patina.All set screws seem ok.Please see pics.These are really neat, and heavy duty.Any questions please ask.Thanks for looking.
