ANTIQUE GLASS DOOR KNOB ASSEMBLY W/ BRASS KEY PLATES, SARGENT LOCK AND ONE KEY
We found this item on a very old door stored in the barn. This estate has yielded many locks and hardware pieces. This is the first one we have found all intact, it was on an old warped solid wooden door that belonged to one of the houses that was at one time on this estate. Here I have a Sargent lock mechanism with two solid glass door knobs. The glass door knobs are free of chips or cracks or any damage. The door this was on has been in the barn for at least 70 years, the house it came from was built around the turn of the century. There are bubbles trapped in the glass door knobs. I had found a can of antique BRASSO brass cleaner. Which I used on all the metal pieces of this assembly, and the brass came out really nice. Being an amateur clock restorer. I took the Sargent lock apart and put oil inside, the ONE key we found with this now ... moreworks great at moving the" deadbolt" back and forth. Nice intact find for a special door in an Antique/ Vintage house. The door knobs measure 2' wide X 1 1/8 deep. Other measurements are in the pictures. Check out my! Unusual Vintage Bakelite?Celluoid?Plastic? Door Handle/Knob/& Lock Plates
Nice unusual Door Knob and lock plate set. I'm not sure what they are made of. They are not metal. They could be bakelite, celluloid, plastic just not sure. They are in very good condition. There are a few minor chips inside of where the handle fits, they will not be seen when handle is installed, other that there is no other damage noted to the item. They do have some paint residue on edges, which can be cleaned, I just wasn't sure what to use or how to do it, didn't want to damage them. They are a rich dark brown in color. Lock plates are approx. 6" in length, Handle is approx. 3" and the knob is 1 3/8" across. Maybe from the 1920's or 1930's. Any questions please ask, thank you for looking!

We found this old door knob set at an estate sale. One of the glass knobs has a tiny flea bite on the face. You can feel it but it’s hard to see unless you are really looking for it. There are also a few air bubbles below the surface. Other than that. The knobs are in very good vintage condition. The tongue on the lock moves in and out when the handles are turned. Other than that. It has NOT been tested. There is NO key included. The back plates are metal. I don’t think they are brass or copper. The finish is a pewter/gray color. There are no dents in them. Antique Eastlake "Arabic" Bronze Interior Door Lockset Set Knob Plates Lock Key
Penn Antique Restoration. 1889 Arabic Bronze Interior Door Set w/Knobs. Plates, Lock, Key. Spectacular set made by“Mallory& Wheeler Company” circa 1889. The set consists of 2 knobs. 2 escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze face plate and 1 working key, and 1 spindle with 2 set screws. All parts except for the key, spindle, screws, and lock body are solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze—not flimsy, stamped/pressed bronze or plated iron. We didn't include a strike plate for the door jamb because we didn't have any ornate strikers that matches up with the lock. However. If you don't mind a plain, bronze/brass strike plate, you could buy one from us for an extra $10- email us after the auction if you are interested. The set feature’s MWC’s very popular“Arabic” pattern. All parts have a sand dune motifs and one or more Arabic ... morewords. The set was removed from a door that we salvaged from Northern NJ in 2008. The set was very clean at that time(see last 2 photos) But has since developed a patina. Some parts have more patina than others. If you would prefer for us to clean all parts to a uniform finish, we could do so prior to shipping for an additional $15-email us after the auction if you're interested. The base of one of the knobs is slightly pushed into the back of the knob. As a result. The knob is 1/8" shorter than the other, and there is a shallow, circular depression(see close up photo of knobs) Once installed, the only way you could see the depression is by pressing your head against the door and looking behind the knob, so it will be pretty hard to notice unless you're looking for it. The lock faceplate has a small dent along its upper. Right edge. All parts have small nicks and scratches here and there, but no breaks, cracks, chips, or gouges. The lock was opened, inspected, and greased to function more smoothly. We made a key to operate the lock, and we could make more for $8/key-email us after the auction if you are interested. LOOKING FOR A GREAT HOME! Antique. Early 20th Century, Marquise" Pattern, Bronze/Brass, Matched Entry Door Knob Set& Back Plates with Lock Mechanism. Designed and Fabricated by the Norwalk Lock Company, Norwalk, Connecticut. This original, highly sought& detailed, ornamental set is not the traditional round knob. The French Renaissance style door knobs are matched, with aged patina, and oval in shape coming to a point at each end. The knobs measure 1 1/2" wide x 3" high, each having the original set screw. Offered here is an antique. Metal(mostly cast iron) door knob and lock set. The set is complete and includes the small door knob, lever handle, back plates Escutcheon and the lock. The lock does not require a key as it is operated with a slide pin from the interior. This set is fro a small door. The knob measures 1 3/4" in diameter. The lock box measures 3 1/4" on the face with the box part that is inserted in the door measuring 2" square. It's a very old set, 19c I think and has paint remnants. The knob and lever handle turn easily. The sliding lock works but takes a harder push due to some rust. I removed most of the rust that is sh own in the photo with a light penetrating oil. Beautiful vintage piece! Knobs are in excellent vintage condition with only one very tiny(maybe 1mm) chip on one of the points. It has 12 points and has yellowed over the years. But still perfectly clear with hardly any scratches. Comes with locking mechanism and skeleton key that does work, although it could, for sure, use a little oil. Door plates do have scratches,old paint and a little rust on them. Please see pics for full description and feel free to ask questions. Up for bid is a Matched set antique vintage door knob.Lock, plates, all screws. I have many of the same. Salvaged from and old Apt. building that is torn down. Building was built in 1913. These are from the original doors. I will combine shipping if you buy more than one Set. I will list just two sets now but if you interested in more email me. Hi. The plate that would go on the outside of the door is 11" long by 3 and 1/8" wide. The one that would go on inside is 7 and 7/8" long by 2 and 1/2" wide. The lock part that goes in the door is 5 and 1/4" long by 3 and 1/2" deep. The plate part is 7 and 3/8" I will combine shipping. Most of the items I sell are used. The buyer should not expect the item to be in mint condition. Unless I list it that way.
