2 similar Suffolk narrow cusp thumb latch door handles
2 very similar antique Suffolk thumb latches with parts. The latches are 18th/early 19th century. They are 10" and 10 1/2" long. Each has narrow upper and lower cusps. This makes them desirable for doors with narrow stiles. They may be used as interior or exterior latches. The thumb pieces are original and are 2 1/4" and 3" long. The latch bars are period and are 7" long. The keepers and staples are wrought reproductions. Note that the keepers are the nice legged type as opposed to a simple drive in one. Ask questions if interested. Watch for my other early iron items.

Solid bronze. It's HEAVY cast metal- very high quality. Handles are 9 1/2" long. Marked Van Duprin. Excellent antique condition. This item is one of many from a fascinating local estate- the man worked at a Portland metals recycling company for 40 years. And would often squirrel away interesting finds from his job. Antique thumb latch door handles wrought iron large lot hand made
Up for bids is a great lot of old thumb latch type door handles from an old estate. The smaller ones measure about 6 1/2" long. Hammer marks are visible on the back sides of the mounting plates. 2 Antique CAST IRON THUMB LATCH PULL DOOR HANDLES Door Pulls
Here are two old cast iron door pulls. Both with rust. The pictures should show the general condition. The one on the left is by far the best of the two(my opinion) Left pull in picture#1: The loose thumb latch goes into this one. The thumb latch is 5 1/2" long and extends out from the back 3 7/8" Total length of pull is about 9" The width of the top of pull is 2 3/8" and the bottom is 1 1/2" I can't tell if it's pitted or was the casting process. It should look great once it is cleaned better and painted. Right pull picture#1. I'm adding this one because I think it is a very old latch. I don't know how useful it would be but it would make a great display item. A thinner cast than# 1. And has damage on both ends. The thumb latch comes out about 1 1/2" on the back and is pinned in place. Total ... morelength of handle part is almost 7 1/4" Dusty, rusty and pitted. I did not attempt to clean it. Photos should tell you a lot about this pull. I'm selling both pulls AS IS. NO OUT OF USA SALES. I sell to lower 48 US States only.
