Pair Antique Colonial Solid Brass Pocket Sliding Door Finger Pulls Plates Handle
Penn Antique Restoration. Pair Antique Colonial Brass Pocket Door Pulls. Antique. Colonial style, pocket door pulls made around the turn of the previous century. They are made of solid, stamped/pressed brass, not plated iron/steel. At the point of salvage. The pulls were found dirty, lacquered, and heavily tarnished. Since then, we've cleaned them leaving some of the tarnish behind to preserve their aged look. The pull on the left side in the first photo has some deep scratches on the right side. Just outside of the recessed(cup) area. There is also a tiny dent that you could spot along the right edge, about 1" below the scratched area. The keyhole area of the same pull also has a few small dings around it-the previous owner obviously didn't have good aim with a key, or didn't see too well. However, these are not terribly ... moreobvious flaws, and you'll be more impressed by the cool, overall look of the pull than to notice such subtle imperfections. Plus, character marks are part in parcel of buying antique items! Otherwise, both pulls are in good shape with no breaks, cracks, chips, or big dents. Penn Antique Restoration. Pair Antique French Brass Pocket Door Pulls. Antique. Arts& Crafts style, pocket door pulls made around the turn of the previous century. They are made of stamped steel and were originally brass plated. Most of the brass has remained, but there are a few spots were it has worn away giving them a nice, distressed touch. The pulls were salvaged from central Missouri. At the point of salvage. The pulls were found dirty, lacquered, and heavily tarnished. Since then, we've cleaned them to the best of our ability, trying to preserve as much of the brass plating as possible. There are marks inside of the recessed"cup" areas that appear to be scratches. VERY SCARCE* OLD ANTIQUE VTG Ca 1880's VICTORIAN AESTHETIC MOVEMENT FANCY BRASS POCKET DOOR HANDLE PULLS SET This offering is for an antique or vintage pocket door handle or pull set made of pressed brass with beautiful aesthetic movement decoration in high relief. I am unsure of who made the knobs as there are no makers markings or dates but I would think they were made in the late 19th century. About the 1880's. The overall length of each plate is app. 4 5/8" by 2 1/8" wide. The depth is app. ¼" The plates are uncleaned and as found with an excellent surface patina. The set displays beautifully and definately rate as one of the more unusual and beautiful pocket door knob sets produced. The set consists of 4 brass pulls, 2 iron mortise locks with brass faceplates, and 1 brass key.
