Antique Brass Beaux Arts French Exterior Entry Door Lockset Knob Plate Lock Key
Penn Antique Restoration. Antique Beaux Arts Style Entry Door Set Knobs Plate Lock Key. Gorgeous. Antique, entry door lockset made by"Lockwood Lock Co. of Fitchburg, MA circa 1914. The set consists of 2 brass knobs, 1 brass stamped escutcheon, 1 stamped brass rosette, 1 stamped brass keyhole cover, 1 iron mortise lock with cast brass faceplate, 2 working keys, 1 cast brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 set screws to connect the knobs, and 12 screws(not shown in the photos) to install the lock and plates. The knobs and plates are solid brass, not brass plated steel. Originally, all parts were copper plated, however, except for the keyhole cover, which retained most of it's plating, only traces of copper could be found on the other parts. The knobs and escutcheon have a stunning French style design-check out ... morethose whiplash curves! All parts were found dirty and unevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then. We've clea ned and polished all parts to the best of our ability. One of the knobs has a tiny dent. Which could be seen in the close up photo of the knobs, and the keyhole cover has some tiny dents too. Otherwise, the set is in great condition with only minor nicks and scratches here and there, typical for hardware this old. There are no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, gouges, or heavy scratches. The lock was opened. Inspected, and we sprayed WD-40 on and around all parts to facilitate their movement. We also made 2 keys to operate the lock, and we could make more for $6/key-email us after the auction if you are interested. If you like this set. Get it while you can! 1930's Bungalow Architectural Brass Exterior Door Handle Pull and Lock Surround
Up for bids is an old salvaged lockset that came from a home on Lambert St. in Palo Alto before demolition in the 1970's. I am selling this for my Grandmother. It has patina. Some paint spots and slight verdi gris. It measures 10 1/4 inches tall, and the small lock measures 3 1/4 inches tall. The opening for the round lock is about 1 inch in diameter. This set is only for a"Right Hand Reverse" door: one that pulls open(swings away from the room) And ends up on your right side door. Heavy-duty. Vintage, entry door lockset made by"Yale" of Stamford, CT during the second half of the previous century. It consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 brass escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with a brass faceplate, 1 brass anti-theft collar, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, 1 steel split spindle with a setscrew for connecting the knobs, and all 12 installation screws to fasten all parts to the door. All brass parts are solid brass, not plated steel. This is a high-quality, commercial-grade lockset. There was no mortise cylinder included with the set. This is the round. Barrel-like piece that goes into the lock, ... moreabove the knob on the exterior side, and engages the lock once a key is inserted into it and turned. You could pick one up, brand new, with 2 keys at your local locksmith or hardware store for less than $20. T he mortise lock is locked by pushing the bottom button on the faceplate. And unlocked by either turning the interior knob or using a key(once mortise cylinder is installed) Once you turn the interior knob or key and open the door, if you do no not press the top button on the lock's faceplate, the lock stays in the"locked" position and the exterior knob cannot turn. Once you turn the interior knob or key and open the door, and then press the top button, you will be able to open the door by turning the exterior knob. This is a great security feature and perfect for many industrial and commercial applications. For example, this lockset was originally installed on the door of the boiler room, where only a janitor or technician needed access. Vintage, door set made by"Yale& Towne" of Stamford, CT sometime during the first half of the previous century around the fist half of the previous century. The set consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 stamped brass escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1"Corbin" brass mortise cylinder w/2 keys, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, 1 steel split spindle with 1 setscrew and 1 securing pin to connect the knobs, and 8 installation screws to fasten the lock and plates to the door. All brass parts are solid brass, not plated iron. Although the set has a simple. Straightforward design, the elegant curves of the escutcheons add a stylish element to the aesthetic appeal of the set. Notice the lower, ... moretriangular latch of the lock. The middle section is made of a hardwood-what rare feature! At the point of salvage. All parts were painted and dirty. Since then, we've cleaned and polished all parts to the best of our ability. There are some small dents around the upper screw hole of the interior escutcheon and on the faceplate of the lock, and there is a small dent in the center of one of the knobs(tough to spot) Otherwise, there are only subtle scratches and tiny nicks here and there, which are typical for hardware this old. However, there are no breaks, cracks, or gouges. About the Lock: The lock is fully reversible and could accommodate the swing of any door. The mortise lock is locked by pushing the top button on the faceplate. And unlocked by either pushing the bottom button or using a key. Once locked, the door could only be opened by turning the knob on the interior side of the door, or by using the key on the exterior side of the door. If you remove the setscrew and spindle, turn the knob upside down, and shake, the part will fall into the center of the knob(most knobs are hollow) It's usually not very hard to get it back in place once it falls out, however, we'll ship it fastened to the spindle with the setscrew. Once fastened to the spindle, the knob if firm, and doesn't jiggle. About the lock: The lock is reversible and could accommodate the swing of any door. All of the parts of the set combined weigh nearly 5lbs! In the last paragraph. I emphasized, brass mortise lock, because it is extremely rare to find an exterior lock which is made entirely of brass. Normally, the ... morebody of a lock is iron or steel, and the faceplate and latches are brass. This is a rare, and high-end lock. Another interesting aspect of this set is it's knobs. Egg-shaped knobs are uncommon and large T-shaped knobs are extremely rare. Not only are the shapes of the knobs unusual. But they are made of cast iron instead of brass like the rest of the parts. There are no signs either that the iron parts were ever brass-plated. Considering that the lock body is brass, we could rule out that the client wanted a less expensive metal used for the knobs to save money. My guess is that this set was custom made for a client who had a unique taste. Although we show the egg knob on the exterior side of the lockset. It doesn't mean that the T-shaped knob couldn't be on the exterior. You could put whichever of the 2 knobs you like on the outside of your door. Condition: We didn't clean the set. And judging by the very subtle patina on the brass and lack of rust spots on the knobs, you could tell that someone has been periodically cleaning the set. Very unusual size and style knob- I have never seen anything like it in 20 years of renovating homes. Large(roughly 7" diameter) solid brass Italian door pull/handle(no integrated lock mechanism) Estimated to be 60 years old. Consistent with the house. Both plates have BAL Italy stamped on them. Solid brass is heavy(approx. 12 lbs, 13 lbs with spring latch mechanism) I will include the spring latch mechanism if you want it(basically this mechanism holds the door in the closed position, through spring friction, but the handle does not turn to open, you just pull/push to overcome the friction)

Antique 14" Tall Brass SCHLAGE Exterior Door Handle & Lock - Arts & Crafts Style
This exterior door lock and handle set consists of several parts that were found bolted together just like this. But I'm not sure they originated together, and I haven't taken it apart, so I make no guarantees that it is complete or in working condition. The piece de resistance, of course, is the exterior handle and backplate, which is about 14" in total length and is shaped with a fleur de lys top and other embellishments reminiscent of the colonial revival or arts and crafts style of the first quarter of the 20th century. Check out the shield shaped thumb piece, for instance. I believe the entire exterior handle and thumb piece are solid brass, as are the interior handle and plate. There is a deep scrape on one side of the receiver portion of the strikeplate. This has no affect on it's function. Nor is it structurally threatening; it is just a cosmetic blemish. A 2" portion of the back of the lock body broke off, and we re-secured it using some industrial-strength epoxy. The repair is strong and should last for as long as the lock does. Even if it were to come undone, that part of the lock body doesn't affect the functionality of the lock. Once the lock is installed, the repair scar will be invisible. Otherwise, all parts just have the light nicks and scratches that you would expect to find on 70- 80 year old hardware. There are no breaks, deep scratches, gouges, or dents. The lock was opened. Inspected, and we sprayed greased on and around all internal parts to facilitate their movement. The lock operates smoothly and is ready to serve for many years to come. All brass parts are solid. Brass, not plated steel. Except for the escutcheons which are stamped(pressed) brass, all brass parts are heavy, thick, cast brass. Originally, all parts were nickel plated, and surprisingly, most of the plating remains! Either the plating is very thick, or this set was hardly ... moreused, because after almost a century of use, the plating should've at least wore off of the knobs. The knobs and escutcheons have a fantastic. Art Deco style design, which is accentuated by an unusual textured detail. At the point of salvage. Some parts were painted and all parts were dirty and unevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then, we've cleaned and polished all parts to the best of our ability. All parts have some cosmetic blemishes including nicks and scratches. Which are best conveyed by the photos. However, these just add a distressed charm to the parts and do not pose any threat to the structural integrity of the parts. All parts are strong, sturdy, and ready to serve another lifetime. About the lock: The mortise lock is reversible and could accommodate a right or left swinging door. We found the cylinder mortise without a key. Without a key. We are uncertain if the cylinder works. You could take it to a local locksmith, who may be able to rekey it. Worst case, if he/she can not make a key for it: 1) you would have to buy a new cylinder with keys for about $20 and widen the hole in the exterior plate from it's current size of 5/8" diameter to 1 1/8

One nice feature is that this lock can be set from the two buttons on the faceplate which allow the door to be locked with a button. Thus eliminating the need to use a key when exiting the building. There was no key but these can easily be made by any locksmith. The finish could use a polish but there are no real problems. The faceplate has seen some use and is lightly scratched but is made of solid heavy brass and could be cleaned to appear as new. Polished SOLID BRASS Sargent exterior door lock dead bolt # S 73 & 2 keys # S 78
This is a Sargent exterior door lockset with deadbolt and two keys. It is solid brass- weighs about 6 pounds. I found it in a drawer in an old garage along with lots of pieces of scrap metal There is a number stamped on the edge of the deadbolt- S 73. There also are numbers on both keys# S 78. The keys operate the deadbolt even though they have different numbers. There is a number on the back of the strike plate. But I can not read it completely. It looks like# 2005L or 20C5L or? This unit has never been installed- the polished brass screws are still in a paper wrapper. However. There are scratches on the unit from being inside a drawer with alot of other items for what appears to be many years. If anyone can tell me more about how old this lockset is. It would be appreciated.

Vintage Brass Exterior Door Pull Mid Century Patina 11 1/2" Pretty Vintage Brass exterior door pull from the mid 1900's. Measures 11 1/2 inches long x 2 1/2 wide at the ring, about 2 1/4 inches diameter inside the ring. This has oxidization from age, nice patina that will polish up if you wish. A vintage door handle made of cast brass. The top backplate is apr. 2 3/4 X 5 inches. The bottom backplate is apr. 2 1/4 X 3 3/8 inches. The overall length is apr. 10 3/4 inches. To the very outside of the handle it will stick out from the door. apr. 2 3/8 inches. There is wear to the lacquered finish. On the mechasim on the back side it is marked: for left hand door. The pictures should show the rest. Plenty of lighting was used to show as much detail as possible. The item may have glare spots or look shiner than what it really is. Any? Please ask.
