The set consists of 2 brass knobs, 1 large brass escutcheon, 1 brass rosette, 1 brass thumbturn, 1 brass anti-theft collar, 1 steel lock with brass faceplate, and 1 split spindle with 2 setscrews. All brass parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast brass not stamped brass or brass-plated iron. Although there are no markings, judging by the design, I am pretty sure this set was made by"Russwin" of New Britain, CT. Unlike most old-fashioned mortise locks. Which have rectangular deadbolts; this lock has cylindrical bolts with odd-shaped heads. When you turn the key, the bolts spin as they spring forth from the lock. The spinning causes the heads to turn in a corkscrew manner. Because of this feature, this will require a special strike plate with circular holes, not the typical rectangular holes. Unfortunately, we don't have any compatible plates, however, I don't think it would cost too much to have one made-less than $50 for sure. We do not have any mortise cylinders that will fully extend the latch. Our cylinders only push it out halfway. However. You can stop at any locksmith shop to buy one that will work for this lock. The knobs and escutcheons have a lovely design accentuated by a grainy texture on the faces of all the parts except for the lock. At the point of salvage. The set was found with many layers of paint and was heavily tarnished(see last photo) Since then, we've removed the paint, cleaned, and polished the set to the best of our ability. All parts are in great condition with only a few signs of wear like nicks and scratches. Otherwise there are no breaks. Cracks, chips, dents, or heavy scratches. The lock was opened, inspected, and we sprayed WD40 on and around all internal parts to facilitate their movement. This is not your typical vintage or antique set of hardware. I

The best I came up with was it was taken out of the house when it was remodeled in the early 70's. and stored in the barn. The original house was over 100 years old, I don't think the door is that old. I will have about 20 more old doors from the same loft listed eventually. All I did with the door was clean it off with some Murphy's soap, nothing else. The lock is marked Yale on the jam side of the door. If your looking at this then you probably know more about it than I do. So if you have questions please ask. The door is not perfect. It's old and has some character, there are a few scratches, dents etc. that I am sure can be restored with no problem by someone ... morethat knows what they are doing. I did have someone that works with wood look at the door and he told me it was quarter sawn Oak. Penn Antique Restoration. Antique French Style Entry Door Set Knobs Plate Lock Key. Wonderful. Antique, entry door lockset made by"Russell& Erwin Mfg. Co. of New Britain, CT around the turn of the previous century. The set consists of 2 cast brass knobs, 2 stamped brass escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze faceplate, 2 working keys, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 set screws to connect the knobs. All brass/bronze parts are solid brass/bronze, not brass plated steel. The knobs and escutcheons have a stunning French style design featuring fleur de lis. Prim roses, leaves, cartouches, and various geometric shapes. All parts were found dirty and unevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then. We've clea ned and polished all parts to a uniform finish. There is a break in the upper right corner of ... morethe cover plate of the lock body. The break does not hinder the set's functionality and once the lock is installed in your door. It will be concealed. There are also some shallow dents and light scratches on the lock's faceplate. The rest of the parts are in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, or deep scratches. The lock was opened. Inspected, and we sprayed machine oil on and around all parts to facilitate their movement. Vintage Door Knobs 2 Entry, 6 Interior All Working, Patina Brass and Steel
Vintage Knob Set. I only show one of each style in the pictures. But all are similar. I have no idea as to the years, they are coming out of a house built in the 1940's. The entry sets use a skeleton key(not included) They do work and have all the parts(knobs, faceplates, mechanism, and there are 2 of them exactly the same. The interior sets(6) are vintage Kwikset, look to be polished brass at one point, but have alot of patina on them. Penn Antique Restoration. Antique Beaux Arts Style Entry Door Set Knobs Plate Lock Key. Gorgeous. Antique, entry door lockset made by"Lockwood Lock Co. of Fitchburg, MA circa 1914. The set consists of 2 brass knobs, 1 brass stamped escutcheon, 1 stamped brass rosette, 1 stamped brass keyhole cover, 1 iron mortise lock with cast brass faceplate, 2 working keys, 1 cast brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 set screws to connect the knobs, and 12 screws(not shown in the photos) to install the lock and plates. The knobs and plates are solid brass, not brass plated steel. Originally, all parts were copper plated, however, except for the keyhole cover, which retained most of it's plating, only traces of copper could be found on the other parts. The knobs and escutcheon have a stunning French style design-check out ... morethose whiplash curves! All parts were found dirty and unevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then. We've clea ned and polished all parts to the best of our ability. One of the knobs has a tiny dent. Which could be seen in the close up photo of the knobs, and the keyhole cover has some tiny dents too. I bought this for my house but it isn't what we need so I'm offering it for sale. It is a never used Baldwin entry door and interior knob set. The box says it is from the Newport grouping. This metal which I assume is real brass is significantly heavy. The large door handle is 16.5" long. Vintage, interior door lockset salvaged from Northeastern Ohio. The set consists of 2 steel knobs, 2 stamped steel escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with 1 working key, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 setscrews to connect the knobs. Originally. The knobs and plates were brass plated; however, most of the plating wore off over the years leaving the parts with a nice, distressed finish. At the point of salvage. All parts were painted, dirty, and heavily tarnished. Much time was spent removing the paint, and carefully cleaning and polishing all parts, trying to preserve as much of the brass plating as possible. There is some pitting on the escutcheons and lock faceplate. However. ... moreThis only adds to the distressed look of the set. All parts have tiny nicks and light scratches here and there. Which are common for hardware this old. Otherwise. All parts are in great shape with no breaks, cracks, chips or dents. The cast iron. Interior part of the base of one of the knobs is loose. If you remove the setscrew and spindle, turn the knob upside down, and shake, the part will fall into the center of the knob(most knobs are hollow) It's usually not very hard to get it back in place once it falls out, however, we'll ship it fastened to the spindle with the setscrew. Once fastened to the spindle, the knob if firm, and doesn't jiggle. About the lock: The lock is reversible and could accommodate the swing of any door. The mortise lock is locked by pushing the bottom button on the faceplate. And unlocked by either pushing the top button or using a key. Once locked, the door could only be opened by turning the knob on the interior side of the door, or by using the key on the exterior side of the door. It consists of 2 iron knobs(1 egg-shaped& 1 T-shaped) 2 brass escutcheons, 1 brass mortise lock. 1 brass mortise cylinder with a brass anti-theft collar, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 steel spindle(knob connecting rod) with a setscrew. All brass and iron parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast brass and iron, not flimsy, stamped or pressed sheet metal. The parts of this set are of the highest quality. All of the parts of the set combined weigh nearly 5lbs! In the last paragraph. I emphasized, brass mortise lock, because it is extremely rare to find an exterior lock which is made entirely of brass. Normally, the ... morebody of a lock is iron or steel, and the faceplate and latches are brass. This is a rare, and high-end lock. Another interesting aspect of this set is it's knobs. Egg-shaped knobs are uncommon and large T-shaped knobs are extremely rare. Not only are the shapes of the knobs unusual. But they are made of cast iron instead of brass like the rest of the parts. There are no signs either that the iron parts were ever brass-plated. Considering that the lock body is brass, we could rule out that the client wanted a less expensive metal used for the knobs to save money. My guess is that this set was custom made for a client who had a unique taste. Although we show the egg knob on the exterior side of the lockset. It doesn't mean that the T-shaped knob couldn't be on the exterior. You could put whichever of the 2 knobs you like on the outside of your door. Condition: We didn't clean the set. Heavy-duty, commercial-grade, door hardware made by"Corbin" of New Britain, CT around the middle of the previous century. The set consists of 2 chrome-plated brass knobs, 2 aluminum escutcheons, 2 brass mortise cylinders(1 without a key and 1 with a key) 2 aluminum anti-theft collars, 1 steel mortise lock with an aluminum faceplate, 1 bronze strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 split spindle with a setscrew and a pin to connect the knobs. All aluminum, brass, and bronze parts, are solid, thick, cast aluminum, brass, and bronze-no flimsy, stamped or pressed metals. We found the original mortise cylinder without a key. So we added a cylinder from our collection, which has a functional key. We found the set fairly clean with only a subtle patina. Each set consists of a 3-piece brass pull comprised of a handle, back plate, and thumb latch; a brass mortise cylinder plate, 1 steel mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1"Russwin" brass cylinder mortise with 1 working key, the original"Earle" brass cylinder mortise that we found with the set(no key) 1 brass rosette, 1 brass knob, 1 brass thumb turn, and all necessary screws, nuts, and bolts to install ... morethe set. Originally. All brass parts were chrome-plated, however, much of the chrome wore off over the years leaving the parts with a nice, distressed finish. The degree of plating varies from part to part(see photos to compare) Although we don't have keys for the original. Earle, cylinders that we found with the sets, we included them just in case you wanted to get them keyed and use them instead. We found the pull of Set#2 without a thumb latch. We found a compatible thumblatch in our collection and modified it a bit to fit. Although it looks different than the latch of Set#1. Only a keen observer will notice the difference once the sets are installed on 2 separate doors, and most importantly, it works just fine! Up for auction is a pristine. New-in-the box, Baldwin Brass Rim Lock, Model 5704.030.L, Forged Brass Horizontal Cylinder Lock, in regular, lacquered, polished brass. Designed primarily for use on entrance doors, the lock is new and has never been installed. A solid brass bit key for the inside of the door, is included.The latch can be operated by the knob from either side and the deadbolt can be operated by the bit key or the slide bolt from the inside or by the cylinder key from the outside. This rim lock is specifically intended for a left hand door and is not reversible. See illustration of handing along with the specifications for the lock-detailing what's in the box- in the attached images. All factory-supplied screws/fastners/spindle are in the small white box. Co. of Fitchburg, MA. It consists of 2 knobs, 2 escutcheons, 1 steel lock with a faceplate, 1 strike plate, 1 spindle and a working key. All parts are made of steel and are plated with brass. There are a few places were the brass wore off, but the majority of the plating is intact. The set is considered. New Old Stock, which means that it was made a long time ago but was never used. Aside from the tiny nicks and light scratches in the plating. All parts are in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, dents, or deep scratches.
