Original period (1920/30s?) Bakelite egg or oval door knobs (2 sets plus spares)
Egg-shaped or oval-shaped period Bakelite(or similar) door handles and latches/locks that go with them. The colour looks black at first but on closer inspection is actually very dark brown and on even closer inspection has a kind of swirly wood grain effect in it(I cannot capture this on camera) It's all in very good condition for its age I'd say except that two of the three"offside" surrounds have bad chips(see images) All the knobs are free of chips etc. though. The catches/locks work very soundly with good strong springs still. I've made no attempt to clean any of it up I'm afraid. There are two full sets plus some spare bits(see image) All the grub screw are present. I will include some of the original fixing screws for samples. Any questions. Approx 4.2cm in diameter x 5.7cm deep. The other two are the same shape. One is slightly darker than the other but not by much. The lighter one has a small spot of wear on the top. It is approx 4.7cm in diameter x 5.1cm deep. The original rod is still attached and has two holes on either end. The rod is approx 10.5cm long x 7.25mm wide. Pair Original ART DECO DOOR PULLS HANDLES Black Bakelite & Silver Chrome Metal
An original pair of Art Deco door pull handles in very good condition. These came from a late 1920's or early 1930's extension to a much older house which is now being restored to Victorian style. These door pulls consist of black Bakelite circular bars and weighty silver chrome metal fixings which are very typically Art Deco in style. The Bakelite is of a similar type to the old G.P.O. telephones and is free from damage. The silver metal chrome has four recessed screw fixing holes with which to attach to the door. The chrome similarly is in good condition although there are traces of paint on the undersides. Each one measures seven and one quarter inches in total length(18 cms) with the Bakelite bars each measuring six inches exactly.

8 brown bakelite finger plates. They measure almost 8 inches high. No cracks or splits and just the odd very. Very minor nibble. One keyhole has been opened up a little I think. Just the odd speck of paint here and there. I have given them a quick clean but they could do with a proper one. Some shade variation. The bottom screw holes have brass inserts. POSTAGE. Unusual Vintage Bakelite?Celluoid?Plastic? Door Handle/Knob/& Lock Plates
Nice unusual Door Knob and lock plate set. I'm not sure what they are made of. They are not metal. They could be bakelite, celluloid, plastic just not sure. They are in very good condition. There are a few minor chips inside of where the handle fits, they will not be seen when handle is installed, other that there is no other damage noted to the item. They do have some paint residue on edges, which can be cleaned, I just wasn't sure what to use or how to do it, didn't want to damage them. They are a rich dark brown in color. Lock plates are approx. 6" in length, Handle is approx. 3" and the knob is 1 3/8" across. Maybe from the 1920's or 1930's. Any questions please ask, thank you for looking!

This Ivory Bakelite Doorknob Set with Backplates was from an estate sale where they have been sitting for over 40 years. They measure 5 1/2" long x 2" diameter across the knob. They are overall in good condition for their age. They have some chippy paint on one of the back plates. And one very small chip on oth back plates as well. I was told these came from a 1930's or 40's house that was stripped for renovation. The house belonged to an elderly man who had been in the same house since his marriage, but I think these are from a later date possibly 1960's. There are no bolts on the end of the screws but they look a standard size. They are apprx. 18cms long or tall and the whole thing stands out 4cms from door or cupboard. 2 pair Vintage green door handle knob Unused from box 1950s. Backplate Bakelite?
I'm selling a collection of vintage architectural fittings and fixtures that came from the stockroom of a long-since retired joiner. A lot of the items look to be from the 1940s or 1950s and are unused and still packed in the original boxes. I've split the collection into various lots. This is one of the lots. Two pair of well-made original vintage plastic interior door handles or knobs. Unused and from the original pack. The handles are in a bright mint green plastic. Are round in shape and have a gently faceted edge detail. I would guess the handles date from the 1950s or early 1960s. Each pair of handles is ready to fit and complete with a backplate(I think there is only on backplate as these handles were designed to be used with a rim lock on one side of the door) adjustable position centre steel bar with fixing screws, 2 washers, ... morea keyhole escutcheon, and rounded-headed wood screws from a small packet that was in the pack. Please note that the pack shown is NOT included with these handles, I have just shown the label for information only. Described as Lacrinoid Door Furniture, they were manufactured in Great Britain. As a guide, the backplate on each handle is approximately 2 and three-eighths of an inch(6cm) in diameter and is stamped L.P. Ltd. The handles are genuine vintage items. They have never been fitted, therefore they're in good clean condition. There are no signs of use, scratches, damage, etc. However due to age, there may be some very slight tarnishing to the fixing bar and screws but nothing too bad. Please see the photos as a further guide to style and condition. Colourful retro handles in great condition. I'll carefull pack the items and send by Second Class post. Set of 4 very old red Bakelite( catalin) 10" long door pulls with cast brass fittings. Wonderful patina and in good. All original condition. The handles are 10" long and 1-1/16" in diameter. The cast brass mounts(I believe these are brass even though the coloring from age makes them look more like aged copper) come with their original bolts which I show attached in the photos but they easily remove. Those mounting holes measure 6" apart(center of one hole to the other) These are very substantial, heavy duty handles that weigh a full 1-1/2 lbs each.
