Here's a pair of antique. Victorian-era, recessed pocket door pulls in very good condition. They are made of cast bronze and are original, unpolished, and just as they were when they were removed. These handles date back to around 1885 and were made by the Norwalk Lock Company and have the numbers 08844 stamped on the backs. Each measures 2 1/16 inches wide, 5 3/4 inches tall, and 1/2 inch deep. Once cleaned up, these authentic Victorian pocket door pulls will be gorgeous! Larger knob Made by Russell and Erwin MFG Co We are pleased to offer this Lot of 5 Antique 19th Century Bronze Doorknobs. All are ornate c. 1870. Two Lion Head and one ornate Bronze are from Russell& Erwin and the other two lion heads unmarked, made by another quality hardware firm of the day. These knobs are from the golden age of hardware, when quality hardware was manufactured to last and has. This lot is perfect for the collector or restorer and we are now seeing where furniture remakers and talented artists are making coat and clothing racks using these beautiful knobs. After the Civil War, door hardware changed radically. Some early design patents for decorated hardware were for coffin handles, but it didn't take long for decoration to spread to ... moredoor hardware. By 1869, design patents for hinges, escutcheons, and an outside door latch were granted. The fervor for decorative door hardware was soon heightened by a new casting technique that introduced molten bronze into a mold under pressure, producing castings of exceptional detail. This process was spearheaded by Russell& Erwin Manufacturing Company of New Britain, Connecticut(R&E) which turned out a host of popular designs, the most famous being the"doggie" knob. Other whimsical R&E creations included an escutcheon depicting a flamingo drinking champagne and a large lion's-head knob like ours. Once the R&E designs debuted, a flood of imitations followed. Vintage Antique Door Knob Ornate Brass-Bronze Old Art Deco Doorknob 1/4" Shaft
Up for auction here is a great estate find. A wonderfully ornate flat top door knob. Interesting design.Art Deco/ Arts n Crafts era. Small flowers. Leaf or flags, and two very small iron crosses on either side on the front, in which I wonder if it could have originated in Germany. The knob measures: 2" across. About 1 7/8" back to front, with a about 3" shaft, which is 1/4" in diameter, attached with a single screw. It has a great look with nice patina. I have not attempted to clean it. And will leave that up to it's new owner. I am selling this antique door knob. Just as I acquired it myself, in"as is vintage" condition, so please take a close look at the photos. this is an exquisite antique solid heavy bronze front door handle and knocker. it has a wonderful victorian style and made from very heavy thick bronze. it has nicely cut and scrolled thick backplates attached. both piece operate perfectly and have a wonderful patina from age and patina. the lock has a brass inner knob and bronze housing. the pieces have a great bumpy textured finish as well. the handle measures 10 3/4 by 2 3/4 inches and the lock measures 3 1/2 by 2 1/4 inches. nice rare piece of early hardware. Antique Corbin Bronze Mortise Door Lock Set Victorian Ornate 1899 Rare
Offered is this fantastic Victorian. Art Nouveau style complete mortise lock set with matching door knobs and door plates. Patent date is 1899 probably made by Corbin. Signed on inside of door plate and on the front of one door knob. Left unpolished with the original 115 year old patina. I think it's a combination of brass and bronze highly ornate sand cast metals. This set is fully functioning with dead bolt and inside lock on the door knob shaft that turns and locks from the inside. Condition is excellent condition with no damage. The original lock has been re-keyed. The plate measures 12" long by about 3" widest point. Weight is about 7-8 pounds. Good luck!

The handle would have had a round 3/8" rod which is missing but could be replaced. The rod shaft is 1.25" deep. I’m not exactly sure what they are made of or how old they are. Everything is non-magnetic. The knobs are approximately 2 1/4” in diameter; appear to be hollow but are thick walled and weigh approximately 7 oz each. The thick plates are approximately 7 1/8” long and approximately 2 ¼” wide; also weigh approximately 7 oz each and have numbers that appear to be 1460 14 on the backs of each(could be 1466 14) There are some scratches, some bends, some paint and some tarnish thru out. The lock box is a Corbin and the key and Lock work fine.The backplates are 7 3/4 inches long and 2 1/2 wide. One backplate needs the paint removed. They measure approximately 2 3/4" x 1 2/3" in size. The adjustable square spindle is included. But set screws are missing. The knobs are in beautiful vintage condition. Antique Ornate Victorian Lot Cast Bronze/Brass/Iron Door Knobs/Plates/Locks, etc
This is a total of 52 pieces of antique door hardware consisting of beautiful solid heavy cast brass. Bronze, cast iron, some copper and brass swirl plates and knobs. Including pair of porcelain knobs and one amethyst glass and brass knob(surface crack on face. Please see above description of noted flaws due to age wear and photos. There are 22 knobs, 17 door plates, 11 locks including Mortisse, etc. plus 2 turn knobs and one large brass lock face plate. In this lot of hardware there are 6 full individually matching complete sets and four highly detailed highlighted cast iron plates by Eastlake. Also one set of door knobs of shining white metal I believe to be vintage Mercury knobs. Many ways to match up miscellaneous plates and door knobs with extra locks included to create more sets. This lot could almost fill an entire house. As for the ... morerestored finish which has most pieces in their gorgeous high lustered original patinas. I have 16 years experience in antique metal restoration and in the case of these pieces I felt that the best way to put the hardware to use in it's best finish was to refinish them. This is because most of these pieces came to me with either layers of paint or heavy dull lacquer as was commonly done in the late 1800's to early 1900's. Some pieces were heavily rusted. At any rate I left ALL OF THE PIECES UN-LACQUERED OR VARNISHED AND THEY WILL SHORTLY NATURALLY RETURN TO A SOFT MELLOW PATINA which can be kept up with hand polishing if desired which is also the best thing to do for the metal. If the high luster is desired the pieces can be lacquered to retain that finish. There are a few of the locks that have not been refinished. These pieces are various makers such as Eastlake. Yale and Towne, Russell& Irvin, Mortisse, Craftsman. All in the desirable lovely Ornate Victorian style or Art Nouveau. If seriously interested in this lot please email if you want further detail.
