Rustic Antique Metal Door Knob, Approx 100 Years Old
Rustic old antique door knobs from North Carolina history in need of loving home! It can safely be said this door knob is genuinely old. Likely late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Aged and rusty, with chipped paint, it makes it especially attractive in my view. We stuck a magnet onto it so it is definitely not brass but other metal underneath the white paint. Total length is 6 inches long with knob diameters 2 ¼ inches. A wonderful piece of architectural salvage. With history and stories behind whoever has touched them over the last 100 years. They were retrieved from an antique door from a torn down building in a small country town in North Carolina where old tobacco sheds are still plentiful on old farms. Antique Vintage Metal Porcelain Corbin Door Knob Lock Body Hardware Part! The lock body/rod are made of metal and the knob is made of porcelain it has Corbin embossed in the metal. The lock body alone measures 4 1/4" x 3 1/8" and the porcelain knob/rod stickout from the lock body appr. 3 3/4" It's showing signs of wear with surface rust/discoloration/dings/paint spots and could use cleaned up the porcelain knob has no cracks but a few very small dings. I tried to pull the metal rod out from the lock body but it's stuck and won't come out even with it still inserted the knob turns freely both ways and the lock on the side of the box pushes in/out freely please see the pictures for a better view.
