Lot of 5 Antique Eight-Sided (octagon) Glass Crystal Door Knob Sets (10 Knobs)
This auction is for a Lot of Five Eight-Sided Antique Glass Crystal and Brass Door Knob Sets(10 knobs) in very good condition. The eight-sided glass knobs measure about two and one-quarter(2 1/4" inches in diameter and show light normal wear. The knobs are in very good condition and do not have any chips. There are very few tiny nicks and scratches but at most very light normal wear. All of the knobs have very nice clear star or geometric patterns. The knobs are similar but are not the same. They have not been cleaned or polished. As a note- the door knob casings(ferrules) can be polished with brass cleaner or with dish washing soap and steel wool(000 or 0000) Try not to get water inside the knobs as it can damage the star or geometric design.so remove any residue with a damp rag. The sets come with the connecting rods and both set screws. ... moreAnother note- if you are looking for door knobs to use for doors make sure that they come with both set screws. There are many(probably 100's) of different antique door knob styles and there was no standard set screw size or thread so they can be very hard to find. The knobs shown are the knobs that you will receive. The knobs when carefully packed will weigh about 5-6 pounds but they will fit in a medium USPS flat rate box. Pretty Antique Vintage Round Crystal Glass Door Knob Mercury Center
Up for auction is a very pretty 2" diameter antique glass door knob. It is round with what looks to be a mercury glass flower in the middle. It has it's set screw. I have not tried to turn it. It has some nice weight to it. I do not know what the base metal is as I have not tried to polish it. It's in very nice condition but could use a gentle cleaning. There are a few scratches and marks on the glass and the base consistent with it's age but nothing very noticeable unless you are right on top of it looking for flaws.
