A beautifully executed combination of colored topographical land elevations depicted by height with red overprinted railroad lines which have been extensively referenced across the map. Along the side or bottom is a key of boxes. Where each color represents a range of heights. Thus, when viewing the map, you quickly see the topographical nature of the state. Delicately overprinted in red near the title and across the state are the extensive range of railroad lines then in operation. Printed in the very early 20th century. It measures 10 1/2 X 13 1/2 inches. This map is in near excellent condition. Couple nicks in left margin caused by how map was bound in atlas. Paper shows normal aging and very light age spots. This map would look fantastic framed under glass. Shows many towns and locations that no longer exist. A true historical item. Investment quality. Individual pieces may have seen many owners and been handled many times over the course of their existence and as a result each piece has developed a history of it's own. Short edge splits. Foxing, discoloration, etc. are all things to expect on items of this type. They rarely distract from the piece and often add to the overall character of the item. Keep in mind when you receive your item that you are not handling a modern copy, you are holding a piece of history, an item that has been around for a very long time and will, with proper care, be around for a long time to come.
