For sale is a Wilcox American Rose 7310 silver plated tray with a well and feet. The tray has fancy rose work around the rim. The tray weighs about 3 pounds and stands about 1 7/8 inches high. The tray measures about 18 inches long by about 12 1/2 inches across. The tray is in good shape and has not been cleaned. The tray has some scratches on it but nothing serious. The feet are all intact and the tray seems to sit good. The tray does not appear to be bent and I do not see any dents. This is a nice looking piece but it may need to be polished to look nice because it is covered with tarnish. I have no idea how old this tray is so please know your silver. This huge vintage platter made by Friedman Silver Co has outside measurements 19.5" long and 13" wide weighing 3 lb 1 5/8 oz. big enough for any large turkey or roast. Nice large"tree of life" for draining juice into well at end of platter. It dates to the mid-century 1940's-1950's and is made of very desireable Silver Plate over Copper. The Friedman Silver Company was founded in 1908 and was acquired by Gorham. Brooklyn, NY in 1960. Gorham Silver was founded in Providence RI in 1831 by Jabez Gorham, a master craftsman, in partnership with Henry L. Webster. Both Friedman and Gorham were both top of the line silversmiths. This is a high quality, heavy silver plate tray to have on any Holiday Dinner Table! Rare Antique Lehman Brothers (LB) Silverplate Meat Carving Serving Tray MARKED*
This is a rare and antique(My research suggests it is likely from the 20's to 30's) Lehman Brothers Silver plated meat carving or serving platter. The platter has a makers mark and silver plated on the back. It appears to be silver over copper. The design is beautiful with the classic meat carving design(tree) Additionally there is some nice roped design on the rim. The tray sits atop 4 feet. This is really a nice piece. It is large(17.25 inches x 12.5 inches and 1.5 inches tall) and very heavy. Weighing about 2-3 pounds. You can tell that this is an old piece but it is still in very good condition. There are some scratches from being used as a carving plate and some of the silver is wearing off on the ridges of the tree design but you can see copper showing through and makes the piece more charming. We are selling a large silverplated oval meat platter with a tree juice well that is lovely. This footed platter was made by Oneida in their“ Montclair” pattern. This tray measures about 19½ inches long X about 13 inches wide X about 1½ inches high. It stands on four metal feet and weighs about 3 pounds. 5 ounces. Specifically. It has a heavy metal border of flowers and vases. The body is of smooth silverplate. On the reverse is the mark with the name“ Montclair” on top and“ Oneida” on bottom separated by a crest featuring a knight shield and two lions. This tray is lovely and is well made; we call it good used condition. It has some knife marks on the top from previous feasts. And some of the plating is worn through to the brass base in areas along the edges of the tree branches on the juice well. I recently acquired close to 100 pieces of silverplate items from a large estate sale. For the ease of listing. I will be copying this text to every listing. There are trays, serving bowls, goblets, coffee service sets, vases, champagne buckets, and just about everything you can imagine in this group of items. VINTAGE FOOTED SILVERPLATE MEAT PLATTER(4 legs) for serving your fresh cooked and juicy meats-an area for juices to"run" to the end. Size: 12" x 16" Platter was used much; we called it"The Tree of Life" because of its design. There are 3 smal l spots where the silverplate has worn on the tray. There are lots of"scratch" marks where knives and forks have handled the meat. It looks clean and used but not abused. Will hold large meat portions. This huge vintage platter made by TOWLE SILVERSMITHS is big enough for any large turkey or roast. Nice large"well and tree" for draining juice into well at end of platter. It measres 18" long and 13" wide- dates to the mid-century 1940's-1950's and is made of very desireable collectible Silver Plate The Towle Silver Factory in Newburyport. Ma was a large producer of silver products until the 90's when it was acquired by a multinational corporation and subsequently closed. This is a high quality, heavy silver plate tray to have on any Holiday Dinner Table! It shows some usage scratches normal from previous use, but over all with a more thorough cleaning/ polishing it will be a nice piece to put out on the dining room table. It measures approximately 17 1/2" long by 12 1/2" across and 2" tall. It has no markings on the back. But it is a heavy tray weighing approximately 5 lbs. Footed silverplate platter/tray. Designed for meat. With indentation so that juices will collect. Likely from early 1930's. 16.5" x 12" It does show discoloration, nicks and scratches(discoloration particularly on the underside as shown in the photo) but still a very interesting, solid piece. I am willing to ship USPS Parcel Post to minimize shipping charge but then package would not be insured. I would adjust at time of invoice if this is winning bidder's choice.
