This would be good as a casserole or vegetable dish. The dish is 8 inches tall to the top of the cover. It has an 11 1/4 inch diameter. The dish is 3 inches deep. It weighs 2 pounds 14 ounces. There is a small dent on the cover and another on the bottom of the bowl. There is also small area of pitting on the inside of the bowl near the bottom curve. There is no plate loss. This is a Sheridan Silver-plate footed large serving/butler tray. It is approx 1 7'8' tall and about 25 1/4" long. IT measures 25" long by approx15 1/2" wide and 1 3/4" high. It does have legs. Offered for bid is a silver plated serving tray made by the Sheridan Co. I believe, in the 1940's. The tray measures 12" major dimension and 9 1/2" minor dimention. It has a beautiful floral design on the tray, with a rope edge. My guess is that it was designed as a serving tray for the standard 8" layer cake, as evidenced by the scratches made by knives cutting cakes( see photos. I think this might have been one of my parent's wedding presents, which would date it to the early 1940's. I seem to remember something like this being used for very special occasions when I was growing up. There are several small spots where the plating is damaged, and other areas where it appears to have been worn thin, as shown in the photos, but there are many more useful years for this tray. Offered for bid is a vintage Sheridan 12" silver plated display tray. I have no idea of this tray's age as I found it at an estate sale. Features an embossed script"Love" and and arrow with two hearts. This may have been embossed by hand. Going by the fact that the curves are not perfectly uniform, nor are the double lines evenly spaced. The arrow head and feathers are off-white enamel, and the two hearts are red enamel. The arrow head's enamel is cracked, but solid/tight. There are some light scratches on the highly polished front surface. I have done an initial cleaning/polishing. Could, probably, stand some more. VINTAGE! PLATED SHERIDAN SILVER CO. HEATED ROUND BUTLER'S FOOTED TRAY w/HANDLES. The outer fluted trim is very elegant and the two handles and three feet are very ornate. The platter itself has an attractive. Gracefully chased design. This is an excellent tray both for display and it’s high degree of usability. A very interesting detail. And indication of quality, is that the handles are decoratively carved on both sides as would be expected but the inside of the three scrolled feet are also finished on the insides that don’t really show. It does say Sheridan Silver Co. Inc. on the bottom. However, it does not say that this is silver plate specifically, but it clearly is by the tarnish. I have a feeling that under the bolted down heating element it does have a stamp. There is a faint blush of a coppery tone in some carved inner grooved ... moreareas and underneath, but that may just be how whatever metal underneath has aged. 45+ years old. 14& 5/8" diameter(18& 5/8” long where the handles span) 2” high(3” including upward tilt of handles) Chased detail surround the blank cartouche. Stands on 3 scroll-curved feet. Weighs approximately 4.25 pounds. On the bottom of the tray: A small white label reads INSP. 17. On the round electrical unit it is engraved: Do Not Immerse In Water. I’m not sure what that means but please take note; perhaps it needs to be checked re the power cord. Of course you have the option of just using it as a tray without the heat. No dings or scratches. Age-appropriate fine-line signs of polishing. There is some tarnish(it appears much less so in the pictures because of the glare from the lighting) but it is my policy not to polish silver or silver plate that
