Description this is an extremely nice quality silver plated circular plate. Platter or salver with chased decoration, ornate border with a pierced gallery and resting on four elaborate feet, as shown in third photo, it is marked on the base as per sixth photo denoting the silversmiths as the illustrious Richard Hodd& William Linley of London c.1854-1872, the top has two small black spots and some light wear(plate loss) as to be expected after 141-159 years in use, and this very useful item could also be used as a trivet so in our opinion, and opinion is subjective, there are no major issues, other than aforentioned, as there are no repairs, just normal surface scratches dings dimples and blemishes commensurate with age and use, but please look at photos to make up your own mind: height: 1"2.5cms diameter: 8½"21.5cms We ... moregive this description to the best of our ability. The engraving is a combination of geometric bands. Scrolls and flowers. supersize the first picture to see the detail of this) The central area is not engraved. There is a makers mark- W&H in a flag- I'd date it from the design to between about 1870 and 1890 Size: about 10 inches across( 26 cm) Weight: 484 grammes Condition: The plating is very worn on the top- really this one would benefit from replating. This is a really lovely heavy electro-plated silver salver. Signed by William Wheatcroft Harrison. Sheffield. The hallmark is pre-1897. It has a beautiful design on the centre and edging of face-plate. And three claw legs. Width- 17 1/2 ins. Cl aw height- 1 1/2 ins. It was made by Walker and Hall so the quality is top drawer. There is an inscription to the centre of the plateau dating the piece to 1950. The piece weighs in at 1379g. It is in good condition for its years. The silver cover is gleaming and ample apart from a few odd tiny squiggles and a whisper of copper showing to the engraving and inscription. Of sturdy weight, with exquisite chased decoration and gadrooned border, it is marked on the base as per sixth photo denoting the maker as Harts the Silversmiths and we deem this impressive item to date from c.1900-1940, it has surface scratches and wear(plate loss) to the chasing whereby the copper can be clearly seen which we consider enhances the charm of this very pretty item so in our opinion, and opinion is subjective, there are no major issues, as there are no dents or repairs, just normal surface scratches dings dimples and blemishes commensurate with age and use, but please look at photos to make up your own mind height: 7/8"2.2 diameter: 9¾"24.7cms We give this description to the best of our ability. You are bidding on this Victorian silver-plated circular salver by Roberts& Belk. Sheffield.The surface is engraved with a band of Etruscan figures along with an elephant and angel in a chariot, within laurel borders, centred by an engraved monogram and crest, moulded gadroon bordered rim, on ball and claw feet. The hallmark has faded but can just be made out,You will see the Gothic initials'EP' in this mark, which stand for electroplate. In excellent condition only requiring cleaning of some tarnished areas(will leave that to the experts) It measures 12" diameter and is stands 1.5" off the ground. This type of decoration was popular during this period coinciding with many excavations of Etruscan tombs in Etruria. Italy. Vintage Silver Plated Pie Crust Edged Salver Waiter: Pad Feet: Barker Brothers This is a good silver plated salver or waiter in the Georgian style with a pie crust edge and four pad feet. It is very pretty. The central area is not engraved. There is a makers mark- three stars in a cloverleaf- The mark of the Barker Brothers of Birmingham. I'd date this to between 1900 and 1940. Size: about 10 inches across( 26 cm) Weight: 467 grammes Condition: there is some scuffing and scratching but the plating looks intact. probably has a slightly bent foot as it rocks slightly on a flat surface- so not in perfect shape. 9 Inch Diameter Silver Plated Salver / Serving Tray
A very attractive little 9 inch diameter silver plated salver/ serving tray. The border has leaf and flower detailing. This is an older tray(I'd guess 1940-50. But this is only a guess) with a good thickness and weight, not flimsy like some of the newer trays. The design is deeply stamped, with no wear that I can see. The plating is thick and intact everywhere, even on the high points of the design.The back of the tray has a couple of minor scuff points, but overall, this tray is in excellent vintage condition. On the back. Are"L" a J&Co stamp, the numbers 3549, and below that, a set of"hallmarks" that I think are just stylized"EPNS" probably for'electroplated nickel silver" meaning that this is a silver plated tray, not sterling) Please see the photos.

The plating is original with slight overall loss with surface marks and light scratches commensurate with age and use. Rear of tray has small loss of plate to highlights and light scratches. A silver plated salver. Beautifully decorated with foliage and scrolls, with beaded and figural raised borders. Not monogrammed. Hallmarked to underside: initials"TL" over"EM" into quatrefoil punch for Thomas Latham& Ernest Morton; and other marks. Please see photo#12 Made in Birmingham.
