Antique Victorian Seashell Perfume or Scent Bottle with Chain for Chatelaine
This very impressive perfume bottle measures 4 1/2 inches long. The chain was used to attach this vinaigrette to a Victorian Chatelaine. It dates to the latter half of the 1800's. This one has raised relief molded seashells and scroll work with a stippled background. The same pattern is on both sides. The original brass cap screws and fits perfectly. No visible markings. Offering a Victorian era chatelaine scent bottle. Bottle measures 3 inches in height to the top of the cap. Curved bottle is green in color with classic Victorian gold painted flora and scrolls on front and back. The gold painting on the front frames a painted cherub. Original dauber is present. Bottle cap is hinged and without any stress cracks. There is a 6 sided start or flower engraved on the top of the cap. Brass chain and ring are present. Victorian Edwardian Mother of Pearl Shell Chatelaine Perfume Scent Bottle
Mother of Pearl is in good condition. There may have been painting on one side at one time. Please look at the last photograph. Measures from base to finger hole approx 4 inches. The cork stopper most likely dried out and tore as it is partially in the top and the rest is in the bottle. I have not attempted to pry it out. But you can see it in photo 2. It is not rattling around. This is a used antique item. From a smoke free home. Please ask questions regarding this item before the ending day of auction.
