Pan-style fixtures(so named because the main body is like a large pan) were incredibly popular through the 1910s. 1930s, and early 1930s. Most were modest in terms of design, quality, and pricing. Very occasionally however I come across a set like this. Wow. This set was not modest in design or quality. And in its day would have been at the higher end price-wise. It’s stunning. The fixtures came out of a house in Illinois. And were caked with white paint when I acquired them. Luckily, paint doesn’t stick very well to silver-plating. The 4-arm chandelier is particularly luscious. The arms have gorgeous detailing in high relief. The bottom finial is surrounded by a lovely disk. The chain flourish is also exquisitely detailed. As is the ceiling canopy. You can see how different the fixtures look with shades(not included) or without. The vertical wire on the chandelier is cloth covered like the original. While originally intended for a living-dining room. Today I can envision the set in your newly renovated kitchen, or spa bathroom! The set would be the ideal complement to nickel-plated hardware. And with either brass(shown here) or chrome accents. The fixture is an impressive 21-1/2-inches wide. In its day. This was a highly sophisticated design. As it is today! Wholly restored and with new sockets and wiring. This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed! DETAILS: The fixture accepts candelabra-base base 25W bulbs. COLOR: See above. SIZE: See above. As well. The fixture hangs down 41-inches. I can remove up to 15-1/2-inches of chain; I can add chain. CONDITION: One candle was loose where it attached to the black ring. I repaired this. The black look very good. The brass candle cups retain their original protective lacquer. I’m very pleased to offer this astounding. High-quality 1920s 5-arm chandelier by Halcolite of New York! Halcolite was located at 100 Grand Street in New York City. The chandelier is amazingly luscious. And abounds with rich details. Wow. Wow! The whole is cast brass. And the weight is impressive. I must stress the quality. The brass retains its original polychrome. This is a burnished gold. And with accents of red, blue, and green. Gorgeous. The whole has an appealing but hard-to-describe quality– the five arms of the chandelier seem to be leaping into the air. Like ballet dancers on point. Another wonderful detail is the many dangling finials. I’ve seen the fixture on occasion but the dangles are usually missing. The fixture is not actually restored yet. Save for touching up the blue on the ceiling canopy. The finish is a very good vintage condition. I will fully rewire, and the exposed vertical wire will be cloth-covered like the original. The paper insulators will also be replaced. All this will take a week after payment is received. Style-wise. The fixture is well suited for a Spanish-Revival-style home, a bungalow, Arts& Crafts, or really any home built between 1920s and WWII.
