Queen Victoria and Prince Albert Commemorative Reverse Glass Antique Paintings This is a fabulous pair of Antique Victorian reverse glass pictures. At a first glance I would have thought one was Prince Albert. The other a young Queen Victoria or possibly Princess Alexandra of Denmark and Edward Prince of Wales. The effect involves the painting of glass as well as the application of foils to create a beautiful metallic sheen. Pieces like these would have been specially made during the reign of the Queen for her adoring British public- possibly to celebrate her coronation. Wedding or jubilee. They are housed in their original frames and measure approximately 14 inches by 11 inches. I would describe the condition as good. There are no cracks or breaks to the glass or any noticeable scratches. The paintwork has various little flecks and signs ... moreof age. The Queen's frame is coming loose so ideally would need re-backing or better taping down. Whilst I feel that I have set a fair price. Magnificent Collection 3 Chinese Reverse Painted Glass Paintings
An excellent set of 3 meticulously and very finely detailed Chinese reverse painted glass paintings. Photos don't do justice to the vivid colors each of these have. Paint is crisp and attention to detail exceptional. A couple of the paintings have some slight wear of paint around the edges. But all central figures are in very good shape. There is some wear to the wooden frames. But all are firm and ready to hang. We are not sure about the age of these pieces. Frames appear as though they could have been made in the last 10-20 years. and paintings are possibly of that age as well(versus antique paintings that were re-framed) We are therefore selling these as being relatively recent executions and have priced them accordingly. Each is 17 x 23 inches view area and 23 x 29 inches overall with frame.

Vintage Religious Middle Eastern Art - Reverse Glass Paintings Set of Three
Here we have a lovely and very old set of three reverse glass paintings from the Middle East. Scenes from the Abrahamic tradition, Abraham being saved from sacrificing Isaac, and two warriors, possibly of Turkish or Persian descent. A very rare religious find. Hand made frames. See the last picture, with nails and very crude tools. These have been in storage, so there is fading, staining, and some of the paint has worn off. Glass is intact, and all frames are sturdy. The charm is in the very unique nature of these paintings. Handmade by an artisan in his workshop probably in the 1920s, for the tourist market. Pictures are roughly the same size: 10" wide by 14" tall.

Up for auction is a RARE PAIR of Titanic Ship Reverse Glass Framed Paintings pre-sinking and post sinking! The paintings are in good condition with appropriate wear from age. Some of the paint is peeling as shown in the closeup photos which is pretty common on these pieces which are over 100 years old. Created right after the sinking circa 1912. The frames are matched and very highly detailed carved wood. They look amazing as shown in the photos. The frames do have some wear and paint loss, particularly along the bottom. The frames also appear to have two small holes in the sides where they were mounted to a wall at one time. The Reverse glass paintings are Chinese.Probably 1st half of the 19th century. Possibly based on images of emperors, empresses,courtiers,officials,etc. The man is identified as a high ranking courtier with a civil rank badge of the white crane rank and as she is wearing the same, she has to be his wife or escort. The Quality is very high! These Frames are Chinese made in two layers, the front with mitered corners in the Western style, the back with square end pieces of wood, like a post-and-lintel door. This was done because they did not trust the sturdiness of Western mitered corners. The Chinese frames are much more valuable. See pics carefully the emperor has a crack along the bottom however does not distract from painting much and has some small damage on top left corner. They are not signed or marked as to maker- I believe they were made in China, but do not mistake them for today's Chinese-made items. Only two losses to paint about 2.25 square inches total. The frames are hand-carved and intact. Each piece has a museum inventory number painted on the top of the frame, and one of the original brass hangers has been replaced
