Pair of Vintage mid 1800's Marble Top Walnut Nightstands or End Tables
I am selling my pair of circa mid 19 th century end night stands. I will give as much information as I can think of or figure out. We originally purchased these beautiful end tables at an antique shop in Long Island for more than the buy it now price. We are moving and do not have the room in our new home. So they must go. They appear to be pre 1860 due to the dovetail work. The hand hewn boards in the bottom of the drawer, and no evident circular saw marks. Also, by recollection these are definitely European, most likely of French or English manufacture. They feature what appears to be a high quality walnut veneer with some detailed straight line darker veneer accents. They have a really nice pull out writing board above the top drawer. There is a crack in each of the writing boards due to the age of these pieces. They have the original ... moremarble tops on them. However one of the tops are lightly stained(this can probably be removed) and has a chip taken out of one of the rear corners. Inside the bottom cabinet door is a very nice ceramic insert. The end tables still retain what appears to be their original hardware. Overall for the age of these pieces. They are in very good condition. The veneer on the fronts is near perfect. The veneer on the sides has very very minor imperfections and some small spots which can most likely be removed(we never tried) The veneer looks red in some of the pictures for some reason, but they do not look red in person. The backs of the night stands are finished in veneer as well, but due to being up against walls and such, there are some deeper scratches in the back. Vintage Dark Wood Nightstands End Tables Pair Refurbished Dressing Table This pair of vintage nightstands were made from a vintage dressing table that we took apart and fashioned into nightstands. We left the original finish and the original knobs. These are quite handy for storage with three drawers each! The top ones are curved and quite lovely! Lots of lovely details to the fronts! The finish has a nice shine. They are hardwood and not pine. The drawers are dovetailed and have very clean insides which have been left as original. These nightstands/end tables measure 30 1/2' high. 14' across and they are 18 3/4' deep. Please keep in mind that these are vintage and not new and do show age marks from wear. Some dressing tables are attached on the sides as these were and one side of each one has an area at the top of the side that ... moreis slightly lighter as it was unfinished under the wood that attached the two pieces. These are the sides that are placed beside the bed or couch depending on whether used as end tables or nightstands. It's slight but there. Again. Auction is for a Pair of Vintage 1940's Mahogany 2 Drawer Nightstands/ Tables. They were made by Imperial from Grand Rapids. Mich. label in drawer, see pictures) They each measure 27" high x 16" wide x 25" deep. They have a serpentine shape in front and back, X shaped spanner, carved fan in each corner, and glass tops to fit, elegant curved legs. Small chip to one corner of glass but it does not go through to the other side. Glass is 1/4" thick. Otherwise only a few very light scratches on glass consistent with normal use. There is glare or reflection in the pictures of the glass(not damage) Mahogany has a nice patina and top is nice ... morewithout the glass. Tops look like a quarter sawn Mahogany.
