Lyon and Healy Troubadour Lever Harp Circa 1970 As Is repair Local pickup Ariz.
Hi. Up for auction is a vintage Lyon and Healy Troubadour Lever Harp. This came from an estate and I dont know too much about it. It has 33 strings and it's about 5 feet, 2 inches tall. It has some issues and needs restoration. The bottom sheet of wood is delaminating, and has some wear. Most of the black edges need to be repainted. There is also some delamination of the wood(see the seventh picture) None of the strings are broken, but it needs to be tuned. I showed it to a couple of potential buyers and most of them think it will need around $500-$1000 in repairs. One person looked at it, and he told me he thought it was slightly warped. Another said the levers and strings would need to be replaced. Another told me it would cost more to fix than it was worth. Honestly, I think this harp would be best for a piece of art. The back wheel is 27" and the front wheel is 24" It is lite enough to sling over your shoulder and carry! I'm not sure if it's a 12 speed or 14 speed, as I'm a one speed kind of gal, so don't use them. However, the bike does shift. I have a basket(pictured) bracket mounted on the frame and the basket just clips on and off easily. Since the handle bars are racing style, the basket only fits long ways-see picture. You can take the bracket off as well, and there were no holes drilled into the frame for this mounting. I used to carry my 10 pound dog in it for rides. I've enjoyed riding this bike and hate to part with it. I have had no problems with its functioning. There is rust on the ... morechain, no visible rust on the frame and minimal spots on the chrome. Frame measures 59cm from the center of the BB spindle to the top of the seat tube. And the top tube measures 59cm from the centerline of the head tube to the centerline of the seat tube. It seems to me that Fuji would probably sell a 58cm frame and not a 59cm frame, but I've taken the measurements a few times and 59cm is what I see. Components include the Fuji Special Road Racer lugged frame and fork; Belt leather seat; SR Laprade alloy seatpost; Sunshine 50mm forged alloy stem; Nitto Olympiade alloy handlebars; Dia-Compe center-pull brakes; SunTour shifters; SunTour Compe-V front and V-GTluxe rear derailleurs; Fuji/Sugino Maxy 171mm alloy cranks dated 74-1(left) and 74-11(right) Fuji 52/40 alloy chainrings; Sunshine ... morehigh-flange hubs; and Ukai 27x1_1/4" alloy rims. Condition is good. I don't see any dents. Dings, cracks, bends or repairs. However, the bike does show typical signs of wear from age and use. The paint shows scuffs, nicks and scratches. The chrome on the fork tips and frame stays shows wear and pitting. The handlebar tape is torn and worn. The brake lever hoods are totally dry and gummy from age. The saddle shows wear and cracking, though I think it's still usable. The rims show oxidation. The tires are ancient and useless. The brakes, chainrings and derailleurs are greasy and dirty. In other words, although it's survived the years fairly well, this is obviously an old bike that has been used, and not a museum piece. Obvously. This bike will need new tires, tubes, brake cables and brake pads for safe operation. It will also need a thorough cleaning and comprehensive tune-up. I got this bike secondhand in a trade.
