This is a most unusual ox bone carving. I am not sure who it represents. But there is a small face emerging from the top of the main figure's head with a cobra snake. The carving around the necks and around Ganesha is very fine. The figure is a good size and is in very good condition. Size: Height: 12.5cms. Width of base: 7cms. Weight: 126grams. The hinges are in good order and the lid opens and closes as it should. I think the decorated inlay to the lid is bone but am not 100% sure, so please do bear this in mind. This is a large late 19th or early 20th century carved ox bone tooth. The tooth is carved with with many elephants along the length. With a larger one very well carved on the top. There is slight rubbing to the top of the back of the large elephant. Otherwise, the condition is very good. Size: Length: 58cms. Weight: 183 grams. All shipping prices include insurance. LARGE ANTIQUE 19THC INDIAN CARVED BONE FIGURE OF AN INDIAN WOMAN CARRYING WATER
This is a large 19th century Indian carving in ox bone of a lady carrying water pots on her head. This is a good carving. Please examine the photos. The carving is mounted on a 19th century wooden base. Which would have been original to the carving. This would predate the later early 20th century Indian ox bone carvings.
