Which sits on a circular pedestal foot, is globular in form with a flared neck and has a carved decoration with a hand enamelled ground. The vase has six bands of decoration: the upper bands with a scrolling floral/ foliate design with alternating pink& pale green enamel grounds(the flowers on the green bands with tiny clear red enamel highlights) and the bottom band with an acanthus type decoration and a light blue enamel ground. Vintage Trinket Box from India Item is a vintage/antique trinket box from India. Box is round. About 3 inches in diameter and stands about 1 1/2 inches high. It is very colorful and highly glossed. Cover has two birds. One is an owl, the other is probably a parrot, both sitting on branches. Dark green leaves on edges go down onto the sides. The pictures on the sides match up exactly as there is a not ch in the cover and the base to match it up. The notched piece is slightly rough and has a small crack but there is nothing missing. They are of a dark wood with a beautiful patina and go from roughly carved to really quite fine, depending on the skill of the carver. Some are very old while others are more recent. I purchased this at an estate auction and am uncertain of its age but believe it to be many decades old. Box has a lovely embossed ornate flutted and beaded decoration and measures 2 1/2" diameter x 1 3/4" tall. Container sports no markings and weighs 3/4 oz on my home postal scale. Vintage/Antique Steel & Brass Wood Handled Knife and Fork Stamped "India"
Vintage set of India made cutlery with beautifully decorated wood carved handles. Brass cross guard, and steel blade/tines. These are large pieces, the knife being 12.25" long by 1.75" wide at the base of the blade and the fork being 11.75' long by 1.25" at the base of the tines. Each piece is stamped"India" on the steel part of the knife/fork. The guard and band appear to be brass. The handles are attractive wood carved floral designs. The condition is very good. The brass guards on both pieces are slightly loos but I don't know if this is how they were made or have gotten a little loose over the years. They both have the same"play" in them. The steel needs to be cleaned but I leave that to the buyer. The patina adds character, I think.
