THIS LISTING IS FOR ONE(1) BUTTER KNIFE This Stieff Sterling Silver butter spreader or knife in the design of FORGET ME NOT. This piece is well over 90 years old. I am selling it for a friend. It was her Grandmothers. It is in very good vintage condition. I have not tried to clean it, I always leave the sterling silver pieces to the new owner to clean or not to clean. DURGIN GORHAM FAIRFAX STERLING SILVER HANDLED KNIFE & FORK MEAT CARVING SET
This item up for auction is a Vintage Durgin Gorham(Gorham actually owned the Durgin Company when this pattern was first introduced in 1910) Fairfax Pattern Sterling Silver Handled. Stainless Steel Blade and Tines, Knife and Fork Steak or Meat Carving Set that I acquired from a local Lady who inherited it from her Grandmother a good while back, just as I got it and just what you will see in my pictures! The Knife measures about 9-15/16" long, with the Fork measuring just about 9" long, both are clearly marked"STERLING" on the Guard(see 6th and 7th pictures) and the Fork is clearly marked"STERLING HANDLE D PAT'D" on the Handle(see 5th picture) while the Knife is also marked the same, it is much fainter and only partially there, either from wear or or not being stamped very well to start with, or some of both ... morepossibilities. Both pieces are in used condition with a fair amount of toning/tarnish/patina, mainly on the handles, some wear, some small nicks, marks, light scratches, scrapes and scuffs, nothing exceptionally major or totally out of line for used Flatware this old, all of which you should be able to see in my pictures, all in all, still a pretty decent-looking Carving Set to add to your Durgin-Gorham Sterling Silver Flatware Collection just as it is and especially if you don't have one like it yet! You are bidding on a Vintage Porcelain and Copper G.E.M. Co Knife Switch Frankenstein Steampunk marked 15A 125V at the top and G.E.M.Co on the bottom. It is marked 1261 and Made in U.S.A. on the bottom. The porcelain measures about 3 7/8" long. 1 3/8" wide and just about 3/4" thick. The porcelain is in great condition with the exception of a tiny chip on each corner which I have tried to show in the pictures and tiny chips on the bottom. The porcelain is smooth everywhere except for one side which is dirty and rough- not sure why. I do not see any other cracks, chips or breaks on the piece. The copper looks good and the wood? handle is in good shape also. The switch appears to work as it should. This would be a great addition to anyone's collection or ready to use for Steampunk.
