Up for your consideration is this absolutely stunning 1894 Jennings Brothers holy water font. This is a nice high quality item which features a beautiful statue of Jesus. And would have been used in a church to hold holy water. As you can see, there is a water line in the bowl which shows that this font was put to use for many years. It has a wonderful patinated brass finish, but I'm not sure what its made of. This font is really unique because not only would it store water in the bowl, but it also has a built in retainment"tank" that would have been filled from the back. As the water in the bowl ran low, it would automatically refill its self from the tank in the back. In addition to being signed on the back, its also dated 1894. Vintage Bisque ANGEL Holy Water Font- Germany 5683 OLD Christian Nice Piece This is quite old. Incised 5683 and Germany on back of piece. This is made of bisque. It is matte in finish and there is some wear to the paint. Holy water font was used and shows some soiling in the bowl and also on reverse that I have not tried to clean. Brown drips on reverse is how this came to me. Smaller in size, this is a pretty piece and measures appx 4 3/4" high. One part of edge has some irregularity and looking closely, I believe it was an issue with cleaning the piece prior to firing. I'm seeing no repairs. This is quite nice. Please see and enlarge pix. This is a lovely tabletop Holy Water Font with a 3 light candelabra/candleholder. This is metal and gilded. Obviously used and well-loved since gilding is no longer perfect. It weighs just over one pound, and measures 12" tall, and 10 3/4" at the widest point. I believe this came from a sick call box because the candleholder cups and base all unscrew to reduce it's storage size. It has a wonderful aged patina that shows wear in some places, and a beautiful floral motif. All antique and vintage items should be considered used and may naturally show wear or use from their age. Vintage Bisque ANGEL Holy Water Font - Germany 5683 Antique Christian Nice Piece
Description This is quite old. Incised 5683 and Germany on back of piece. This is made of bisque. It is matte in finish and there is some wear to the paint. Holy water font was used and shows some soiling in the bowl and also on reverse that I have not tried to clean. Brown drips on reverse is how this came to me. Smaller in size, this is a pretty piece and measures appx 4 3/4" high. One part of edge has some irregularity and looking closely, I believe it was an issue with cleaning the piece prior to firing. Offered here is a 3-sided font bowl which shows three versions of the Madonna Mary with her baby Jesus. made of white bisque china. no markings on the bottom. pretty detailing. Could be used for Holy Water. For a votive candle holder, or small vase or keeper dish. Measures about 2-3/4 inches high and 3-1/2 inches wide. base is about 2-3/4 inches across. Excellent pre-owned condition without showing much wear or handling. a smooth'dit' on the upper edge. But doesn't appear to be a chip at all. couple of very tiny nicks, but smooth now, on the bottom. see photos. these flaws(may well have occurred in manufacture) aren't easily seen. this old item is gorgeous.
