Antique 1890s Pewter Sick Call Crucifix Candleholder& Holy Water Font This sale is for a Beautiful. Antique and Rather Heavy, Pewter Crucifix Candle Holder& Holy Water Font, from the 1890’s. This wonderful piece features a highly detailed Rococo-Style Crucifix, with side candle holders and a Holy Water Shell Font in front. It has a Silver color finish. Most of these pieces were entirely Cast Iron and painted Gold or Silver. But there were a few made partly from Pewter. The look nearly identical. However, in the Pewter Pieces, it’s easy to bend and shape the upper portion of the piece(Candle Holder Arms and Crucifix) with your bare hands. This is NOT the case with the cast iron versions. The Cast Iron pieces sell for $80- $140 while the Pewter pieces get $120-$200. This piece was part of a Sick Call Outfit from the 1890’s. And is Perfect ... morefor the home altar, or to carry with you on Sick Calls. The letters“ INRI” are imprinted at the top of the crucifix. The letters“ INRI” are initials for the Latin title that Pontius Pilate had written over the head of Christ on the cross(John 19:19) Latin was the official language of the Roman Empire. The Latin" Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Ivdaeorvm" translates in English to: Jesus of Nazareth. The King of the Jews. This amazing piece measures( 11) inches tall. Is( 7½) inches wide and( 3) inches deep. It accepts taper sized( 1 inch diameter) candles. The base of the holder has an unusual decorative detail. A different depiction on each of the four sides. One side has the Sacred Heart. One side a Cross in a Crown Of Thorns. One side a Cross. Anchor& Heart and finally the 4 th side. An Urn. In the late 1800's into the early 1900's. Sick Call kits were used by Priests. Residents would keep these in their homes for the Priest to use when he made a house call to visit and pray over the Ill. Cosmetically. There is staining/ tarnish on metal items. small handle may have been a brush(there are no bristles left) Purple Velvet lining in box is very faded(see pics) cloth is fragile. April 1897 Homan Co Quadruple Silverplate Sick Call Outfit Special Medal Ladle
Vintage signed patented April 1897 priest's sick call outfit made of signed special medal quadruple plate silver plate by The Homan Co. ladle. With an ornate handle. It measures 4 3/4 inches long, by 2 3/8 inches wide, by 1 inch high. I think it was used to pour holy water on the sick and dying.

Vintage Vincentian Foreign Mission Society box containing 2 candles one new. One with some use. There also is a holy water with small amount of water still present for the sick and dying. The holy water bottle measures 1 3/8 inches long, by 3/4 of an inch wide, by 3 7/8 inches high, and has a screw on bakelite top. The bottle has no chips, flaws, or faults. Lot of 4 Wood Cross Sick Call,Madonna & Child, Holy Water Font, Holy Water btls
Vintage light wood Cross with resin Crucifix Sick Call Box. 13 1/2" x 7 1/2" INRI is placed above the Crucifix. The back of the cross has an opening to hang it on the wall. It is also marked with a gold sticker that is a cross in the middle of an M. Original 3" Holy Water Bottle with lid included. The cross and words on the bottle are raised on the glass. Additional glass Virgin of San Juan de los Lagos Holy Water Bottle. Which was made in Italy and has a gold rose shaped cap. Holy water has evaporated from both bottles. Vintage beautiful traditional blue Madonna and Child plaster wall hanging. 9" x 4 1/2" It is in very good condition. There is a small 1\2" crack in the blue paint on the front bottom of the plaster. A little over 1" of white paint has rubbed off on the back of the hanging at the round part ... moreof the forehead. Also included is a Lady of Fatima Madonna Holy Water font. 6" x 3 1/4" The Madonna is surrounded by a grey stone wall and basin with pink roses growing next to it. A Nun is kneeling at the basin. Font made by Roman Inc. and has a flush mount to hang on the wall. These items have all been used. But are in very good condition. Please view the pictures closely. Vintage Lot Portable Last Rites Set& Ecce Homo Statuette Here is a vintage Last Rites Set that may be used for administering the Last Rites or in giving Holy Communion to the sick on first Fridays. It includes a solid brass crucifix with full mold corpus. Two metal candle receptacles/holders, a small Holy Water bottle. Unused white cloth and small cotton pad in sealed bags. The box is 4 3/4" wide x 1 3/4 tall x 4"deep. It is lined on the inside with black and off-white satin fabric. The exterior is covered in black faux leather material decorated with brass trim and the hinges snaps shut securely. The portable set was made by CREED. Included in this lot is a hand molded Ecce Homo desk statuette. I believe it is made of alabaster powder. Except for the missing candles. Very Old Sick Call Altar with Crucifix, Votive Candle & Hidden Holy Water Vessel
ANTIQUE CATHOLIC ALTAR Hang on Wall or Set on Table top This is a Gorgeous Altar made to be hung or placed on Table top. It is obviously very old as you can see in the pictures. It's mostly Wood construction with Clear Glass Mirrors on the 2 side panels and beautiful old Cobalt Mirrors in the Center area that forms a Cross upon which Christ hangs. The decorations and writing on the Mirrors are old Silkscreen printing. And says"INRI" as you'd expect at the top, with a radiant sunburst pattern emanating from behinds the Saviour's head. All the printing is in white tho it's faded to a warm off-white over the years with a few minor chips here and there. The Cobalt mirrors tho intact have damage on their reflective backside coating. On the center horizontal front piece is a Hole in which the original Votive Candle resides. It's made of white glass and slips into the hole to fit snugly. I have not burned the original votive candle that came with this Altar and in fact used an entirely different. Contemporary glass candle holder and"tea" candles. At first I was wary of warming the wood up too much while burning the candle but I found out that's not really a concern because the wood stays cool. I have never hung this Altar on the wall. Because the back of the center vertical has been glued and repaired and covered with cardboard. It has always been on the bureau as you see in the Pics. Please be sure to do the same until you are sure the weight of the Altar can be hung safely from the Hanger(visible in the Pics) Another great thing about this Altar is that there's a hidden compartment in the back where a small phial of Holy Water can be kept

Up for auction are stamped 1909 Homan's Alter Sick Call Outfits. The 3 1/2 x 5 3/4 Last Supper relief plaque is mounted on a dovetailed mission oak box and stamped inside is"Altar Sick Call Outfit made by the Homan Mfg Co Cincinnati Ohio Pat'd Jan 11. 1910" Booklet is 1909 and front page has torn off but remainder is in amazingly good condition. The wood box is 4 3/4" high x 5" deep x 6 1/2" wide with a 3/4" beveled attached wood base, pull out cardboard type drawer(cloth tab worn off on 1 drawer) and the top metal part with heart is 5 1/2" high. Inside 1 drawer is the original communion cloth, silver plate for cotton and salt marked on bottom quadruple and inscribed on top IHS with grape and wheat design, silver handle w/cross holy water sprinkler(missing bristles) and, I don't believe this ... morecame with the outfit but there is a small silver case w/1" Joseph w/baby Jesus inside(bottom of it is marked Germany) which was held by the recipient. According to the book the removable altar lights, crucifix, holy water glass bottle and 2 wax candles are missing from each one. These items typically went missing.
