Please look at all the pictures as Ebay considers them part of the description. Most items I sell are vintage and come from Estate sales, yard sales and flee markets, I have no way of knowing if previous owner smoked or had pets, I do not smoke but do have dogs. When I see any damage I will note this on the listing, you can expect normal ware with vintage items, normal ware is not considered damage. This vintage or antique wood looking I think resin one piece wall mounting German Holy Water Font is relief decorated and finely Hummel like colored with the half bust statues of The Virgin Mary with Child Jesus. The top has an inserted metal loop for wall mounting. The entire item is 4 3/4 in high. 2 3/4 in wide and 2 in deep. The font is 1 1/2 in high. There is no packaging. A porcelain manufacturer in Germany, developed a relationship with Sister Maria Hummel in 1935, and started a long tradition of adorable porcelain figures. They were marked with her signature, M Hummel, and had different trade marks at different times. This one is marked Germany, and has a full bee mark, that dates it from 1940 to 1959. It was probably before the end of WWII, so before 1945, as it would have been marked Western Germany after 1945. The piece is adorable. But not without flaws, although the flaws are minimal. The piece has no chips, cracks or breaks. It does however, have crazing to the finish(surface crackles) a tiny drop of white paint on her hair, and three manufacturing flaws- one is a spot on the child's arm, a mark on ... moreher hands, and missing paint on the side of the piece right at the back top. The font is, however, quite charming, and displays beautifully. It measures 5 1/4" tall and is 3 1/4" wide. The little altar behind the child shows a picture of Mary made to look like a tile. Here's another nice old piece from M.J.HUMMEL. It's a wall poket or holy water font with two angels singing. One is also playing a harp. It is signed and stamped on the back side. But I don't know what the numbers are. It has been cracked across the back and is repaired. There's a chip one one back end of it. One angel looks like her index finger is chipped. Tiny Hummel Angel and Bird Holy Water Font- wall pocket hanging. She is in great shape. I find no chips or cracks. The hole for hanging on the back does show some chipping- please see the pictures. I feel no chips and see no cracks. The right side of the font does feel a little rough- but it doesn't feel sharp. I think the rough is from manufacturing- not chipping. She is 4-1/4" possibly 3/8" tall by 3-3/8" wide. Font Depth is appx 1-1/2" If you have any questions. Please don't hesitate to ask.
