Up for bid is a US diver's knife. In used condition. Blade measures 5 1/16" in length. Marked on left side US Diver's Vulcan. Rusty. Tarnished and with surface scratches. Hand guard marked Pat. 137384. Made in Japan. Black handle has no cracks. Light rubs and scratches. Overall length is 9 3/4" Black plastic sheath has rubs, scratches and light rust. The seams in sheath are separated and it has a slight crack and chip back on side. Fits about a 2 1/2" wide belt. Overall length in sheath is 11 3/8" This would make a great restoration project or gift for that special collector. I have listed this to the best of my knowledge, sold as is.

Garcia Survival Knife (copy of the Hackman)
The Garcia was a copy of the Hackman that came out after Hackman stopped production. The Garcia was shaped the same but it was a lighter knife. The blade was not as thick and it was not as well made. Designed by Ken Warner and Pete Dickey; this rare knife was made during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Only a few thousand were made by Hackman with a 1/4" blade. With the majority produced by Garcia in Brazil with a 3/16" blade. The Hackman survival knife was intended for private sale to military personnel bound for Vietnam. The Randall Model 18 had made the hollow handle sawback popular with the troops, but Randall could not keep up with demand. Like the Randall this knife featured a watertight hollow handle and a massive 1/4" thick stainless steel blade. Mauser Style Bayonet, Rifle Bayonet, world war militaria, fixed blade knife
Thank you for considering this listing for an old bayonet. I don't know much about it so the pictures should give an expert a good idea what we have here. For the novice. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of history. Bayonet appears to be for a Mauser rifle. I cannot see any maker's stamp or serial number anywhere. Also, there is no"blood groove" and the sheath is leather. Or some sort of fabric, not metal. Condition is good. But the manufacture is sort of crude. No pits or chips in the blade but the machining isn't as precise as some others that I've seen. These is also discoloration on the blade, it looks like it is from oil or grease that was left to dry on the blade, it will probably polish off if someone were determined to polish the metal(if you buy it you can do that) The rest of the ... morehandle is machined more nicely, like what you'd expect. The sheath is in rough shape. Dry, brittle and stiff; seems like it may have been painted or coated with something to preserve it. In the pic with the pen I'm pointing to the beginning of a crack. As I noted in the"Condition" there is a split, you can see it in the pictures. There is no flexibility in the leather at all. I think maybe the sheath is not original to the bayonet. Or maybe the sheath took the worst of the aging and left the blade protected. Or, maybe the parts of the bayonet were made at different times and places, and then assembled and paired with the sheath. Or maybe this is a special rare find. If you have any thoughts. I am not really certain about what this item is. I am no expert. I obtained this items years ago at an estate sale in Iowa. I believe it was in a box of odds and ends. I don't have a lot invested in this item. So whatever I get is ok. For all I know, it could have been made in china? Anyway, I am selling off a good portion of my collection. Actually, whatever I had left over from my divorce, which wasn't a lot. I will try to describe this knife/mini sword or whatever it is. To the best of my ability: The blade is approx. 11.5 inches long. I measured from the point to the other end. At the widest part. The blade is approx. 7/8 inches. There is a piece of brass? towards the but end. The blade still has a nice point on it. Also. The blade is still sharp. But, with some wear. The handle and longer part are made of what would appear to ... morebe bone? The handle is approx. 4.25 inches long. The other handle part is approx. 10 7/8 inches long. One end of each part has a piece of wood in it. The little piece of wood between the handle and the other part doesn't appear to be original. Put together. It is approx. 15 inches long. The possible bone handle/other part appear to have been carved. There is people. Etc. on them. There is a small hole. About 2.5 inches down, on the small handle. Not really sure what caused that. This is a WWII US Army survival knife. These were the do-all piece of equipment issued to all ground troops during the war. There was not much that you could not do with one of these knives.Clear an area,open supply crates,make tent stakes,cut ropes and anything else that had to be cut including the enemy.The ricasso on this knife is stamped.Pal.36.This has the bright finish blade,the stacked leather washer handle is in very nice condition. well made WWII theater made combat bowie knife + leather sheath
This nice knife is 11 7/8 inches long overall with a 6 3/4 inch long carbon steel blade. The blade is well made with nice clean grind lines and a machined in blood groove/ fuller on each side. The knife has a steel S guard. There is a thick piece of aluminum under the guard. The handle is made of stacked leather with thin brass spacers between each piece. The pommel is a thick piece of aluminum that appears to be lathe turned to give it a stair case pattern which matches the piece under the guard. The knife is unmarked. The knife comes with a well made leather sheath. This knife was reportedly made by a machinist during WWII. The way the knife is constructed seems to support that info. But I do not know for sure if it is true or not. The knife and sheath are used and have wear. Both have nice patinas.
