But it will really always be"Grandpa's writing desk" Unfortunately my seller is downsizing their home and grandpa's desk needs to find a new place to go. It is a lovely little piece measuring 39" tall. 27" across and 15" deep. It is in nice condition given it's age, but it does have a small chip out of the front right corner post. You can see it in the photos. The interior is plain with no shelves, drawers or cubbies. The information that I received from the appraisal company is as follows: The drop front oak(not quarter-sawn oak) writing desk is a Mission style Arts and Crafts desk; there is a keyhole in the top of the fall front and a small gallery or backplate on the top back of the desk. There is an"H" stretcher in the middle bottom of the desk and a vertical"X" stretcher on each bottom side of the desk; the legs are quadrant legs; there is one drawer with round brass pulls beneath the fall front. I would date the desk C. 1900-1915; the value would be between $625.00 and $700.00 in today's retail market. Due to the size of this item it will not be available for shipping. This writing desk has a flush panel top with a simple molded detail on the edges that carry down the outside of the legs. There are 4 drawers with raised panel fronts. The outside drawers are slightly larger and have nice original butterfly pulls. The 2 center drawers have simpler. But very decorative pulls. The ends and back are also raised panels. The vertical frame between the drawers and the stepped stretcher below the drawers have a molded detail which carries down the inside of the legs. There is a Lattice footrest between the legs. This is a well ... moreworn but charming piece. The left legs are approx. 1/2" shorter than the right legs and leans slightly as shown in the photos. We prefer to leave it as is. Bur can be easily corrected with slight blocking attached to the bottom of the left legs or trimming the right legs to match the left. The are some repairs to the lattice footrest and the front stretcher of the footrest is curved down in the front from many years of the weight of feet resting on it. 1800's Northwind Georgian 1/4 sawn Oak Writing Desk/Table
This beautiful table is the original from which there have been several copies made. The table is finished with Lunette carved edges and inset scrolling acanthus carved border on the top. The desk is finished on all four sides with magnificently carved apron and beautifully carved North Wind Faces on the corners. The front of the desk has a large drawer which is dovetailed front and back. The large drawer is divided into three large sections. The table is set on wonderfully carved legs. Which taper down to acanthus carved blocks ending on bun foot on casters. The stretchers are finished in the same manner. The size is 50" wide x 33"deep x 30" high. The most recent copy sold here on E-bay for 2,995.0, and it's size was only 45" wide x 28"deep x30"high. I believe this table was made between 1740- 1840.The legs ... moreand stretchers are two pieces of wood doweled. And glued together, and then carved and doweled together, they were not turned on a lathe. This table is a one of a kind piece. It is massive, with heavy carvings, and has far more detail, and many more features than the copies. I am asking only 14,995.00 for this exquisite piece of history. Probably 1760-80, this is a fine and simple one drawer English Chippendale writing desk. It is crafted of mahogany primary woods over golden oak secondary woods, with a single solid golden mahogany plank making up the top– carefully affixed with a combination of screws set in wells and a single remaining glue block, the top has survived in outstanding condition with no cracking from shrinkage and expansion over the years. Simulating cockbead ... moremolding, with hand dovetailing of the front and backs fo the drawer. The frame terminates on four chamfered legs. The frame is dovetail construction over tenon mortise joinery, locking the entire structure with perfection. The interior of the frame has areas of nearly black oxidization, with unfinished hand cuts and carvings throughout the underside, a testament of the tools used by the craftsman. Hand craftsmanship is written all over this piece. With original hand made screws still holding the top to the frame– three of the seven screws are entirely hand made. Rosehead nails are visible underneath on the rear leg blocking. This is an outstanding piece for any collector of the Chippendale Period. Particularly Georgian collections, but also is a wonderful strike point for any fine home. It’s subdued size allows it to comfortably function in a variety of spaces, bringing a strong sense of refined beauty balanced with simple austerity. Being offered for sale is this lovely Victorian Renaissance Revival Walnut& Burl Walnut Library Table Writing Desk circa 1875. This fine 19th century table offers a large faux suede writing surface. Raised panels of burl with incised carvings, fluted legs, carved roundels and turned finials with the original casters intact on all four feet. This writing desk is equally beautiful on all four sides and can be placed in the center of a room. This is a tutor style desk with one working drawer and one faux drawer on each side. Each of the drawers have pin& cove dovetailed ends and the original inverted wood pulls. This writing table measures 30 inches in height. 41 inches wide by 23 inches deep and weighs approximately 50 lbs. The kneehole height measures 23 1/2 inches from the table apron to the floor. Antique Writing Desk Flip Top Computer Silde out tray Garden Table Laptop
Here is an antique writing desk with the flip up top. The desk pulls out when the top is open. This can be seen in image 5. It is in overall good shape with great patina. The desk can be used as is. Restored or as a garden table. This would also make a great computer desk. The photos show some of the areas that have scratches, scuffs or cracks. Images 5-7 show the measurements. Image 3 shows some damage to the top when the desk is closed. Image 4 shows that the leg has a piece missing. This is available for local pick-up only. Please ask any questions prior to making an offer. I don't see any type of makers mark or date. The key for the lock is missing but is set to the unlock position.

Italian 1910 Carved Walnut Library Table Writing Desk. Carved of walnut about 1910 in northern Italy. A library table or writing desk is in beautiful condition. Two drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and original working locks and escutcheons. The inlaid banding top has been revarnished for durability. The base has its original finish in very fine condition. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm antique patina. Classical fluted motifs are understated on this furniture from Europe. Measurements are 59" long. 30" deep, 31" tall and legroom is 24 1/2" underneath.
