Revealing a second wood panel. This second panel is removable by pulling up the small side wall that houses the inkwell. The interior drawers above the writing surface are all functional. When the writing surface is extended, a row of faux drawers is revealed. Description. Hello. Bidding on a rare 70's mid century modern desk designed by Vladimir Kagan. Large and very heavy desk made of a floating walnut top with rounded edges throughout on a thick curved lucite base. Three drawers with inset chrome pulls. Small shelf area on the underside back of the kneehole area. A very substantial and well made desk. Rare to the market. Size& Condition. Size: 76" w x 38" d x 29" t. Condition: In overall good vintage condition. The walnut areas have some wear in areas. Mostly to the inner and outer edges, with some more noticeable heavier scratches and scuffs to the outer front edge on right side of desk, and the inner front right side of the knee hole. See photos. A couple deep scratches on the back side top edge of the frame. The drawers have a few scratches and depressed marks. The ... moretop is in overall very good condition, with some light scratches and a few depressed marks, but overall pretty clean. The lucite base is clear and not foggy. It does have some scratch marks and scuffs in areas. A couple are long along the back side, but not terribly distracting. Mostly noticeable only up close. With black ebony pinstripe ... moreinlaid, four drawers, a fall front, dating from the 1880s and straight off the container from Denmark. I didn’t think we could beat the one we had in our last load, but this one is simply breathtaking. It’s very unusual, with the lighter amber color olive ash burl walnut through the entire piece, including the hard-to-find reverse cove crown top, all along the face, the molding on the lid and the interior. It comes with a large key for the writing lid, and a little key for the interior. This chest has an applied bracket foot base, which is unusual. This one has extra molding, ebony pinstripe inlay, and a raised panel back. It also has hand-cut dovetail drawers, and the finish is all original. The entire cabinet is original, in fact, except for one little piece of molding that was missing and we replaced. The overall size is 38.5 inches wide, 19.5 inches deep, and 67.5 inches tall. The writing lid opens to reveal a beautiful arch design interior with multiple drawers and doors, ebony inlay, and all kinds of burl. Beautiful Replogle 10" Library globe, lighted with walnut desk stand
Here is the very fine Replogle 10" Library world globe. Lighted and in the wooden stand that you see. Dating from about 1950, it is in remarkably good condition with solid gores over glass, only the most minor dings to the surface, and just a few bits where the interior light comes through a seam. The dating is confirmed by the presence of Israel, West and East Pakistan, Indochina, Korea as a single country, and all of the colonial names of the African states. The globe features a complete heavy brass meridian, a time dial at the north pole, and the oceans shown in pea green. The walnut stand is also excellent. Very solid with four turned legs and stretchers. It measures about 13" in diameter, while with the globe in place, measures about 14" H. The globe weighs about 7 lbs. unpacked. Impressive in any setting with the lamp ... moreturned off, it is so much more when the lamp is switched on. These smaller desk globes appear only rarely on eBay, and when they do. This is an elegant Dyrlund Super Skyline executive desk in teak(or perhaps walnut or other hardwood) and made circa 1960's or 1970's. It is marked with the Dyrlund labels made in Denmark on the base and top as well as the gold Dyrlund logo inside the drawer. I do not know the designer but it is in the style of Harvey Probber. This is a very high quality desk and is VERY expensive if new or restored. It is a statement piece and is in very good overall condition but the finish has faded and has scratches mostly on the top and other superficial wear. It also has some small dents on the top and sides and some scratches around the drawer area. There is a chip along the bottom in the front and one towards the side that has been repaired. The corners are all good and it is very sturdy and strong. This is a very large and heavy desk measuring ... more83"W x 39.5"D x 28.5"H and weights around 200 lbs. There are 5 carved open compartments for organizing and a hidden drawer that opens the full length of the desk with 4 divided sections inside. Underneath the desk is a paper disposal original period brown velvet sack with a hanging cord attached to a lovely ... moreivory pearl stone set within a bronze circular ring with designs. A walnut wood weight is attached. The desk is in very good aged condition without repairs. The only thing I see is two tips missing from the delicate finials. Located on left side underneath the desk and on the right side bottom between the legs. You will need to really search in the pictures because they are very hard to find. T he desk measures 52" high x 34" width x 21" depth. This is Italian workmanship from the old days that can not be found in modern times. CUPID measuring 9" height and 6" at the widest part attached to the top that covers the compartment where the clock sits. Very good aged condition. CLOCK T he clock has 3 different hand designs and incased in bronze? solid brass. The face is a natural cream ivory? porcelain with black Roman numerals. The face is aged with some hairlines but the numerals are bold without any color loss. The clock has 2 front legs and a weighted bronze pendulum that you can view from the photo. And lost screw. Needs to be short so it won't interfere with the roll-top when it is open. There is 4 letter sized drawers. Two have need of handle repair. There are two perfectly good"secret" pencil/pen holders disguised as corner molding. All the slots are long. And they are all there and work fine- great for organizing reciepts! There is a leather hanging trash bin. Which used to fit under the desk, but the leather has disintegrated and needs to be replaced. Canvas would work fine. The holder to hang it with is missing, but when it was there, the whole system was very NICE and I loved it! All the drawers have adjustable slim pieces of wood to change the shape of the interior.
