The interior drawers above the writing surface are all functional. When the writing surface is extended, a row of faux drawers is revealed. The drawers on either side of the knee hole are locked until the writing surface is extended slightly and then the mechanism unlocks. Overall this desk is in great condition. There are a few damaged spots in the burled walnut veneer (see pictures), and a couple of splits in some of the side panels (see pictures). All of these blemishes are caused by use and age, and do not affect the function.

A walnut wood weight is attached. The desk is in very good aged condition without repairs. The only thing I see is two tips missing from the delicate finials. Located on left side underneath the desk and on the right side bottom between the legs. You will need to really search in the pictures because they are very hard to find. T he desk measures 52" high x 34" width x 21" depth. This is Italian workmanship from the old days that can not be found in modern times. CUPID measuring 9" height and 6" at the widest part attached to the top that covers the compartment where the clock sits. Very good aged condition. CLOCK T he clock has 3 different hand designs and incased in bronze? solid brass. The face is a natural cream ivory? porcelain with black Roman numerals. The face is aged with some hairlines but the numerals are bold without any color loss. The clock has 2 front legs and a weighted bronze pendulum that you can view from the photo. It does move side to side and I hear ticking but is in need of adjusting. The clock is original and fits perfect to view from a circular opening made for it

Antique Secretary, cabinet, walnut furniture, desk, 1900 darling!
Gorgeous piece. I hate to let it go, but I'm moving and need to downsize! Circa 1900 secretary I believe is walnut. maker unknown. This was more of a middle class piece rather than a fine piece in it's day, so I was told by the dealer. It is solidly constructed, and stands 93" tall including pediment. it comes apart into two pieces making it easier to move. the top cabinet with glass doors is 62" tall and is rather shallow at nine inches which is nice if you don't want too bulky a piece. the bottom stands 31" and is 18 inches deep at the top, the cabinet being 15 inches deep. it is 38" wide. With desk folded down it is 23" deep. It has some insect gouges, I guess you might call them and other flaws and some wear. Pediment has been repaired. but you can hardly tell. PLEASE study photos carefully and consider ... moremeasurements and ask any questions before bidding. This is the most darling piece and looks fabulous just as it is. Raised panels of burl with incised carvings, fluted legs, carved roundels and turned finials with the original casters intact on all four feet. This writing desk is equally beautiful on all four sides and can be placed in the center of a room. This is a tutor style desk with one working drawer and one faux drawer on each side. 1930s nautical art deco book trough rack desk stand chrome oak walnut w/ galleon
A superb original 1930s art deco nautical themed book trough/book rack measuring 14.5 inches long by 9.25 inches wide(foot width) and 8.25 inches high. The book trough has rounded ends made from oak with lovely inlaid cloudburst in satinwood with a galleon and crashing waves in relief in various woods and veneers. The shaped feet are in oak with a plain oak frieze to the front and raised oak edge to the back. There is a polished steel base with further polished steel stretcher to the rear. The trough has been used and does show some surface marks and scratches and some small additional pins for support have been added over time. Some marks and scratches to the steel in places. Some small white paint spots in places. Structurally sound and free from worm. Actual area for books is 12.5 inches long. Gorgeous Victorian Lap Desk Walnut and Brass VERY RARE! Selling this for a friend from her mother's estate. I have no idea how old it is but this lady was in her 90's when she died and it may have come from her father's Montana ranch. Made of Walnut with Brass inlay wound around outside edges. I do not have the key for it. The inside is leather(the black with gold trim-see photos) The lid that covers the top part is a little loose but still attached. There are loose wooden pieces inside and I don't know where they go or their purpose. I assume whoever buys this will know. There is one old ink bottle and two little hidden drawers inside. One drawer is missing the pull. The pull on the other looks like ivory but I wouldn't swear that's what it is. A piece of the brass inlay has come off the outside on the back and it ... moreis inside the box and could probably be repaired by someone who knows what they are doing. There is a crack in the lid-does not extend down to the sides of the lid. Probably from drying. But I don't know for sure. This is a Vintage Singer Sewing Machine Drawer for the Desk style cabinet No. 65. The drawer has a walnut finish and dates from the late 1940's. This is located on the right side of the cabinet in the top position. I have pictured an example of the cabinet style this will fit. This desk was built by Standard Furniture Company. Herkimer NY. The dimensions are: 50" wide, 32" deep, 43.5" tall. As far as I can tell, everything is original and the desk is in very good condition. The lock on the roll top bears the name Standard and still has the original key. The center drawer has a label inside it indicating that the desk is walnut and was built by Standard Furniture Co. The center drawer also has the remnants of the Standard Furniture Company's official seal, with an eagle in the center. Some of the walnut veneer has come off, especially on the lower legs and on the front left side of the roll top frame. I will not ship the desk. You must pick it up in Plymouth. Michigan 48170.

Lovely antique writing table from Sligh. American furniture maker from Grand Rapid Michigan. Dating from the 1920's, the delicately curved tabletop features a hand painted floral motif at the center as well as painted triangular detailing and faded, barely visible gilding. The drawer has dovetail joinery and the Sligh Grand Rapids sticker is still visible on the interior. The beautifully carved legs provide an added finish to this feminine desk and it is small enough that it would be wonderful in a bedroom as a bedside table or at the foot of a bed. CAPTAINS STRONG BOX CHEST WRITING DESK WALNUT WOOD & BRASS BIBLE BOX
Up for bid is an antique wood and brass box. I'm not an expert but from what I could gather it appears to date from the 17th or 18th Century. It may have been used as a ship captain's chest or strong box or a writing/Bible box. It has a number of internal compartments including one that locked. There is also one that looks like it would have held pen quills. The wood is quite dark and very hard and dense and the brass is hand wrought. It measures about 16 1/2" long x 10 1/2" deep x 4 1/4" tall and is very heavy. I have included a lot of pictures but please feel free to ask for more and ask any questions. This is a well-built wood tray made of walnut. The wood tray is intended for use as an office accessory to hold papers. Tray looks very professional and can serve as an elegant inbox or outbox. Tray measures approximately 15" x 10" It can hold legal as well as letter size documents. Tray has a label indicating that it is made of walnut wood. Tray is well-built with dovetail joints. Bottom of tray has green felt to protect desk surface. Please note that the felt has some wrinkles and shows some wear. Also please note that there are some scratches on the bottom of the tray. To my eye. One side of the tray looks darker than the other sides. This is a used item and shows some wear and tear but is in good condition for its age. Item comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home.

Antique Walnut Stand Up Drafting Desk - cica late 1800
Unique antique stand up American Walnut drafting desk. I purchased this desk 30 years ago and now no longer have a place for it. It came out of a beer brewery in Cincinnati Ohio. I estimate it to be over 130 years old. I was told it was 100 years old when I bought it. It is perfect for a stand up desk or for drafting blueprints. I also have a wooden screw stool which is correct height and can be purchased separately( stool is not an antique) Top does not lift but three drawers pull out. The whole top lifts off leg stand and held in place by balance and wooden pins.Two small nicks in surface which do not show on photo. Buyer will arrange for moving and pay all moving costs.In storage so cannot measure but about 5 foot wide and 3.5 foot deep.
