Very nice desktop organizer. Stiles Brothers Safari for Bauer Int'l. 14" tall. 12 1/2" wide, 8" deep. The wood is mahogany, there are leather and brass accents around the edges. The sides and drawers seem to be covered in a heavy canvas.I have seen old suitcases with this material but just not exactly sure what to call it. If you look at the pic with the Stiles logo, you can see a closeup of the material. The top drawer requires a bit of a tug to slide it out. This is a neat lap box writing desk my mom's had in the family for years(she's 86) We're not sure where it came from. It appears to be Mahogany wood. It is obviously used and other than dusting out the inside I haven't tried to clean or polish the wood. The felt on the bottom is well worn but the felt inside is not in too bad of shape. It is missing one screw for the inside lids and a couple of the ones there are loose. I do not have a key but it may just take a generic skeleton key. Box is 16" x 10" x 5 1/2" It weighs about 8 lbs. Contact for further details. 67W 41D 30.5H This magnificent traditional desk is finished on all sides so can be placed in the middle of the room or anywhere to display this showpiece. It has just the right amount of molding so as to have a vintage yet modern stately look. The desk has an extra large executive size surface with a total of eight drawers with movable wood dividers for each drawer. All of the drawers feature old fashioned craftsmanship with finely crafted dovetail joints that interlock to form a flat edge at the corners and sides thus eliminating the need for nails or screws. The right hand side is a double drawer deep enough for hanging files. Not sure if this is original to the piece but it appears that at some point. A metal attachment ... morewith a sliding rail for organizing manila folders was added to the bottom of the drawer. This can be easily removed if you prefer to use a metal cage for the file drawer instead. The desk has all original hardware and two pull-out shelves on either side of the desk. All drawers slide out effortlessly and lack the modern steel hardware on the outside of the drawers as sometimes used in more modern furniture. Giving it a feel of yesteryear. A Drexel stamp of authenticity is on the bottom side of the desk. This piece is pre-owned and being sold as is. And as might be expected due to its age and use, has scratches, blemishes, knicks, gashes or scruff marks and is being sold as is. This item will benefit from an overall polishing, touch up in some spots and replacement of thin molding where worn or missing. This is a great vintage Sears. Roebuck and Co solid wood fold-top sewing desk in very good condition. The desk is very solid and sturdy and has beautiful detail all over, including a lovely Greek Key pattern around the edge in raised wood. It is a great compact size, but opens up substantially when you flip open the"wings" doubling the work space. The sewing machine is no longer included but the opening is still there. You could either put in your own sewing machine or cover it with glass. It is very versatile and would work great in a small space. One of the drawers still has pins for storing spools and bobbins and a small pin cushion. The desk is 31" high. When closed the desk is 32"x19" and when open. It expands to 64" wide.
