Very good overall condition, This gorgeous antique burl walnut secretaire was crafted in France around the year 1900. Today. This piece remains very beautiful, with a rich walnut complexion and a highly pronounced grain. The face is flanked by a set of carved columns that run the entire height of this piece, which ends with elegant bun feet. A total of 11 drawers and 1 interior cabinet provide a large amount of storage space, all under lock and key. The locks, however, are quite worn and operate with difficulty. The moulding has also sustained some wear, including a minor wood separation in the front and a filled-in missing piece in the back. Overall condition therefore remains very good. The desk provides a very beautiful workspace. With a variety of drawers. This secretaire contains plenty of storage space. The sides look great. The finish on the very top has worn a bit. The secretary base measures 36.5" wide x 41" high x 19" deep and features five drawers and a drop front with lock with key. There are cubbies inside the desk base as well as two drawers. The drawers are very clean inside. This secretary was manufactured in January. 1980 and is in excellent condition overall with a few exceptions. There are light dings and one more noticeable ding on the front of the secretary where it drops down(see pics#10, 11) There are also a few tiny chips low on the front two feet and one chip on the very back side of the secretary top. It is not very noticeable when it is against the wall, unless you are looking at the back(see pic#12) The Ethan Allen name is stamped in the top drawer and the date as well as the item number are stamped on the back. It has three small pull out drawers on the inside with the middle drawer having a lift up mirror and there are three larger drawers below the desk area. The inside of the desk also has a couple of cubby shelves. If you look below the second shelf you can see someone has cut a small hole to pass cords through. I could not find any markers markings but I am guessing from other items in the house of this estate sale it is Danish and probably from the 60's or 70’s. It is of smaller proportions making it ideal for a smaller room. The approx. measurements are: 3’ 6½” tall/ 2’ 11” across the front and is 1’ 5¼” wide. There are a couple of very small little marks or bumps but nothing major and overall it is in Very Good used condition. This Would Be A Very Stylish Addition To Any Home! Hello. Up for bid is a WW1 era medal on brass chain. Medal says LLLL over the top. It has a WW1 airplane, ship and US over work tools on it. The brass has a very nice age patina as shown. Back side has greenish growth on it. I believe this was a medal at one time but was made into a pendant on chain. The bottom of the medal has the words AUTHORIZED BY THE SECRETARY OF WAR. The chain is very nice and has a very cool design to it. The chain alone is old and collectable. There is a mark on one of the links in the chain that says UNION on one side and GT or ST in an oval. Larkin desk / secretary - 82" high by 36" wide
A large Larkin(or Larkin-style) secretary/ desk in good condition. Large size: about 82" tall to the filial. 36" wide, and 18" wide below, 8" wide above. Three problems: a wooden pull is missing from the glass panel on the right(as you face the desk) the hinges for the desktop need some work, and the top filial(about 1.5" broke off(but is in a desk drawer) As you can see from the last picture, there is some wear from use- the drawers wear down the wood below on the edges. No wood is missing; it just needs to be refinished. There are slight marks to the lower right of the Inlaid star on the top. The star(top) is composed of 16 individual inlaid pieces in the veneer. The wood is unknow to us, if we(I) had to guess I would say walnut, with maple or ash pinstripping forming the boarders on the top and side edges. The bottom is cover in green felt(no picture) somewhat worn, but not ripped, just some rolled edges(comprised of three pieces of felt) one having the number 033 marked on it. This item came with an auctioneer tag from Gaston& Sheehan Auctioneers Inc. in Pflugerville, Tx. with alot number of 680 on the tag. We called them, but without more information, relative to the piece it was impossible to search just the lot number 680. Nice looking original primitive antique desk topper. Unknown origin, maker, age. As you see it is stenciled 1766 in the same color dark stain as the rest of the piece. Nice size at 30" wide, 9 1/2" tall, and 6" deep. The wood construction is all 1/4" except for the supports. I added extra pictures to show the condition, surface wear, scratching, marks, ect. It is a solid piece in overall good useable condition, no wood cracking, breaks or chips, just the minor condition issues from age and use. It once had old green paint on it and was stripped of the paint and finished to the natural oak wood on the exposed exterior area. The key works top unlock the desk and the short drawers. Very good condition. Has an obvious scratch on the front of one of the drawers as shown. There are other smaller scratches. Edge wear.
