Cylinder top conceals pigeon holes and a pull-out writing surface covered in emerald green felt. Brass hinges. Diamond-shaped escutcheons and rosette-mounted bail handle drawer pulls. One long shallow top drawers as well as three half-size drawers and a generous cabinet space. Dowel construction throughout including the drawers, top and back. The locking mechanisms in the drawers have two patent dates- April, 1875 and August, 1882. No maker's marks. Over all this piece is in very good condition. Especially considering its age. One of the back feet looks like it has been repaired. See picture. There are also some cracks or seperations in the wood, probably caused by drying, most notably in the scroll on the right side and on the side just above it. Also pictured. There are a few small dings and dents and some light wear associated with age, but otherwise no significant damage. The desk stands 40" tall. With the writing surface at a height of about 29.5" It is 27" wide and 19" deep and the felted writing surface measures 18" X13" This piece is listed for'local pickup only' We encourage buyers to stop by our 11.000 square foot shop to preview this stunning piece in person. It was made by the Paris Manufacturing Company of South Paris, Maine, probably around 1910 or later. It has a flexible roll top, flat writing surface, storage compartments with a little drawer, plus two larger drawers on the right. Other than some marker marks and pencil and crayon on the oak writing surface and the same on the inside bottom of the drawers. Height 15.5cm weighs 800g unpacked has impressed EPNS and FWS in a shield which is the stamp for Frederick Wilson of Sheffield from 1883 onwards in very good condition no chips cracks or restoration. Your bid is for a very ornate and beautiful silver-plated butter dome with a"roll-top" lid. The dome has an ornate engraved design. The butter knife is not included and one of the small chains that retains the is missing. But does not affect the functionality of the piece. The inside ice chamber is very clean. There is no information about the manufacturer or the year but there is a number 84 on the bottom of the piece. The dome measures about 7.5 inches tall by 7.5 inches wide. But I think that the original lifting knop has been replaced at some time with a Bakelite one. From our grandfather's estate. This is an antique F.B. Rogers silver-plated roll-top butter/caviar/candy dish/bowl. Item#273. We are not silver experts but will describe as accurately as we can. We believe it to be sterling silver on copper(according to research) Stunning detailed lion head and claw foot design. Missing its glass insert dish. Hinged dome lid rolls back and will stay in various positions(half, 3/4 open, etc. We find no chips, cracks or scratches- simply needs a good polishing. The Kennedy half dollar. First minted in 1964, is a currently struck issued by the. Intended as a memorial to the assassinated President. It was authorized by Congress just over a month after his death. Use of existing works by Mint sculptors and allowed to be prepared quickly. And striking of the new coins began in January 1964. The coins vanished from circulation soon after their release in April 1964 due to collectors. Hoarders, and those interested in a memento of the late president. Although the Mint greatly increased production, the denomination still failed to circulate. Continued rises in the price of silver increased the hoarding—many early Kennedy half dollars have been melted for their silver. Starting with 1965-dated pieces, the percentage of fine silver was reduced from 90% to 40% silver clad) but even this change failed to restore ... morethe coin to circulation. In 1971. Silver was eliminated entirely from the coins. A special design for the reverse of the half dollar was issued for the and was struck in 1975 and 1976. In addition to. Most of these types of alarm clocks were made in the USA- it is rare to find one made in Canada. The clock ticks. Often for many hours at a time until it runs out, but sometimes it stops intermittently. It needs winding often. I am sure it would benefit greatly from a clean/service. The alarm is working. We’ve also replaced the felt on the writing surface and on the pullout sliders. It has hand-carved poles, dating from the 1870s-80s. We had to re-fabricate the middle center drawer because the original one was damaged beyond repair. The one we made looks exactly like the one we had to throw away, and we recanvassed the roll. The only thing wrong with the desk is that there was no lock on the roll so we will be installing a reproduction. The top pulls down and opens easily, and the drawers lock automatically because of the inner mechanism, but the roll itself will lock. It has molded panel sides and is all molded with carved pulls. The pullout slides are 11.5 inches wide by 22 inches deep. The chair space is 22 inches wide and 25 inches high. The overall size of the desk itself is 54 inches wide, 33 inches deep, 30 inches to the top of the writing surface, and 49.5 inches high to the top of the desk. Beautiful 1946 Model 46 350 Code 121 Philco tube radio. Wooden Roll top cover over controls. this goes up and down. I didn't think to take a picture with it down. Art deco style. The only problem is the leather handle needs to be restitched. My husband replaced the cord and the old white plug is attached to the handle. The inside is remarkably clean for its age. I have shown inside and inside of back cover. This works. AM only I think this had a battery pack that you could take on a picnic with you. No battery with this. This was a well done roll top desk at the time it was built based on the high quality of the veneers and brass locking mechanism. Housing is 58" long x 30" deep and 20.25" tall. Unusual Antique Oak Roll Top Desk, circa 1890's
I have never seen a roll top desk quite like this one. It might have been custom made for use in a office. It is all original, in obvious need of refinishing, unless you prefer the original condition, albeit stains, scratches, etc. typical of piece of this age. There is a large roll up door on left with compartments and one drawer, the board pulls out allowing leg room to work at desk, it seems a big short, but if you measure to top of pull out board it measures 25" high, appears to be ample room for your legs. Overall dimensions of the desk are 45" wide by 31" deep by 44" tall. The right side has small roll up door with compartments for files, note the name"Dearborn" stamped on surface. This antique roll top desk has been in the family for thelast 40 years. It was refinished when originally purchased. The date isestimated based on the drawer construction using a spoon carving. Pin and covejoints. The side drawers have solid wood bottoms, the center drawer has aplywood bottom which must have been replaced when it was refinished. The woodappears to be a walnut or mahogany with burl on the drawer pulls. The drawershave metal locking mechanisms on the backs that lock the drawers when the topis closed.
