Antique oak secretary desk side by side beveled mirror original CURVED glass
This desk has the original curved. Rounded glass on the left side, which makes it really beautiful and elegant. There are shelves behind the glass to hold books and miscellaneous. The right side has a pull-down writing platform. And some cubby holes for envelopes, index cards, etc. and a small drawer for pencils, stamps, etc. Desk has all original hardware. The top has a beveled mirror and a shelf for decorative or practical items. The shelves to the left could be taken out and used as a gun case, but I've never used it for that, and you would have to put in your own lock and key. This is for pick-up only. But it appears to have been originally purchased from Miniature Makers. It also has a tag on the bottom- China The hutch was coming apart a little and has been glued. ROLLTOP DESK - Antique Large Tiger Oak C style
Large Antique Tiger Oak Finish C style ROLLTOP DESK with interior drawers and cubicles circa 1900. This was obviously a mid-level managers desk. Extremely useable(and fun) with heavy solid wood and no expensive brass to polish. I have used it on a regular basis since I picked it up at an auction in 1971. Condition: signs of wear consistent with age and use. Various use marks, stains and scratches. no keys) Excellent restoration project. Please view the pictures. There was a repair to deal with a weakness in the desk when the roll-top is removed. Several minor repairs are still needed. But I choose not to make them so that I didn't mess up the value of the desk by doing them wrong. All of the original wood and screws are present for the repairs. I am not totally clear as to whether there is a Tiger Wood Veneer over some other hard wood ... moreor if it is solid Tiger Wood. A beautiful 1/4 sawn Tiger Oak Desk. made by Standard Furniture Company in Herkimer. NY. ca 1895- 1920. The top is about 30" deep and 50" wide& 1 1/2" thick. The build design allows you to get it into tight places. The top comes off of the pedestals and the stringers come out- makes it easy for one person to move. The pedestal feet are wrapped in brass and all the original hardware is intact. The drawers lock when the center drawer is in. The kneehole is braced with brass chair impactstrips on both sides and is about 19" wide. Left side- 3 separate drawers Right side- 2 separate drawers(top is standard. Gorham in 1921 made a museum desk with sterling assuming of course this is the same Gorham Desk size is: 72"wide. 38" deep, 30" high. The desk is quite large to say the least! Has 8 drawers(1 is for filing) and 2 pull out writing surfaces. These are all approximate 25" to 29" deep. It seems they go forever! The"all" original knobs and feet are art deco in style and solid brass. All knobs have original screws but one. The knops also have a square nails but the the one. There ... moreare steel rods such as under the middle drawer. This original beautiful desk even with it's flaws makes a statement. In a most recent move a piece of veneer about 1 1/2" x 2" was caught inside knee hole on right side in middle at bottom edge.there are 2 other smaller places that I am not sure when they occurred. One on bottom left drawer and on right bottom end side. There are some slight scratches on desk top. All things considered this Mission desk over 90 years old is quite beautiful and very useful. Secretary Desk. Banded Oak 1800 New England Antique. A classic Georgian design secretary desk was hand crafted about 1800. And we were told it was from New England. Tiny dovetail joints and mahogany banding suggest that the master cabinetmaker was apprenticed in England before emigrating to America. The satiny finish is in excellent condition. Solid oak construction shows hand planing marks and square hand cut nail heads. Graduated drawers have chamfered bottoms and hand cut dovetail joints. Brasses are old but not original on this traditional antique furniture. The lock and key still work on the drop front. Which rests on pull out supports. Inside are dovetailed tiny drawers and cubicles for papers. There are restorations to the feet over the years on this understated and functional historic desk. ANTIQUE 19th CENTURY VICTORIAN OAK ROLL TOP DESK / NO SHIPPING / LOCAL PICKUP
This is an Antique 19th Century Victorian Oak Roll Top Desk dating from the late 1800s. It measures 47 1/2 inches wide by 29 1/2 inches from front to back. It is 48 1/4 inches high. The back is finished. It has two slide out trays. On the left there are 4 drawers. On the right there are two regular sized drawers and below them is a very deep drawer that is the size of two drawers in height. The drawer on the right hand side at the top has a different style of handle. There is no middle drawer. There are a lot of cubby holes in the desk. Please see pictures for condition. The roll top works well. This is available for local pickup only. If the winning bidder would like to make arrangements for a shipping company to pick this up and ship it that would be ok too. Quartered oak barrister bookcase with desk--raised panels---14710
This is a really interesting quarter sawn barrister bookcase. I sell lawyer's bookcase(sometimes called a stacker) but have not had this model before. Three sections tall with raised paneled fronts on each section door. The top section is a drop front desk with a nice fitted interior. The overall size of the piece is 34 wide. 47 high, 12 deep. I don't know if this case was manufactured by Globe or Macey or who? I guess I would call this an Arts and Crafts style. Wonderful original finish and ready for your home or office. Antique Wood Oak Desk Set England
This is an oak wood. Desk accessory for writing pens and ink wells made in England around 90 years ago. The finish is original and the beading is intact. The underside has 4 ball feet. The piece is 10 inches long and 5 inches deep. There is a little some wear to the finish but not much. The piece has a nice patina.
