It has claw front feet and is in very good condition, however, it does have ... moresome light surface scratches and general wear that are typical of a piece that probably dates to the early 19th century, although I cannot be completly sure of its age. It has lovely carved accents and trim. The key is intact with it and the little side supports come out automatically when the front writing desk surface is lowered. Someone has unfortunately drilled a hole in the back that is about 2" in diameter. The desk has 4 drawers with all of the original knobs intact. It stands 41" tall at the trim at the back, 40" tall at the top, is 41" wide at the feet, 37" wide at the top, and is a total of 22" deep at the bottom, and 19" deep at the top.

ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY ENGLISH HIGH STYLE MAHOGANY SECRETARY DESK
Offered here is an excellent antique 19th century English secretary desk. This desk is in very good antique condition. It stands 87" high. Is 44" wide at the widest point and 22" deep. Each side of the base is built with a single 22" mahogany board. The desk features an interior fitted with 6 small drawers, a locking(key included) door interior compartment, and flanking that, 2"hidden" vertical pull out cash and document compartments which are disguised as books. These have actual leather bindings labeled in gold ROWE'S WORKS 1 and ROWE'S WORKS 2. Please see photos. The base houses 4 graduated drawers and the pull outs to support the desk writing surface. This desk is solid and stable. This desk. As is the case with all truly old furniture, does have some condition issues. These are the following: One ... morepane of the multi paned glass doors has been replaced on one door. There is a split on one side of the desk base. Please see photos. There is a repair to the lower exterior right corner of the fall front. One leg was repaired. I believe that the hardware was replaced many years ago. Some of the drawer locks are frozen, but all original locks are present, as well as the 2 keys. Otherwise. This desk is in remarkably good condition. The drawers work well and the doors close and lock. The elegant interior slide lock for the doors is present. Selling this wood secretary desk. This was made by the Rockford Chair and Furniture Co. Rockford ILL. I am not 100% certain, but the research I've done makes me believe it was made between 1920 and 1930, but I could be wrong. This desk measures about 32 1/4" wide by 40" tall. Measures about 17 1/2" deep when closed and 29 1/2" when opened. Has various signs of age/use. Such as light scratches, a chip out of the front foot and some rough marks in the one drawer. ANTIQUE TURN-OF-THE-CENTURY SOLID MAHOGANY DROP FRONT DESK/ SECRETARY WITH BENCH This is a beautiful antique solid mahogany secretary in a lustrous light blue oil-based finish. It features plenty of storage space within a compact design. Opened or closed. This secretary makes a statement in elegant simplicity. There is a slight crack in the wood at the bottom left of the door which is only on the outside. it does not go through. Nor does it affect the beauty or functionality of the piece. With a rich complexion and a striking grain. Satinwood string inlays and flame mahogany crossbanding adorn the fall, providing a lovely contrast. Each drawer features ... morehand-cut dovetails and solid brass pulls(recently replaced) The brass escutcheons. While quite attractive, no longer house functioning locks except on the fall which does lock and includes a key. Each side has a horizontal line where the piece was obviously cut in half to remove from a home and put back together. These lines are purely cosmetic and don’t affect the structural integrity of the piece. During a past restoration, a line of black stain was applied to these separations to complement the actual dark inlay around the bottom. Inside the bureau desk part is a very nice mahogany work surface that measures 37″ wide x 22″ deep x 31.5″ from the floor. There are three small drawers and eight nooks for storing as well. When closed. The fall does not completely close(there are small gaps on either side) but does lock. All of the drawers open and close easily. You will see from the pictures that they do not close flush to the bureau, as we often see with solid wood antiques. Finally there are a number of minor wear marks throughout and the back feet were also replaced during the previous restoration. I am not a wood expert. There is a mirror and two candle holder/sconce shelves for detail, there are also shelves for books. The piece has some wear and tear on the wood, see pics, but nothing huge. It needs a good cleaning! There is no lock detail on the front and no locking mechanism. The last picture shows a brass detail piece that can be added if you like. It will be included with the item. This is a vintage secretary desk by the Jasper Cabinet Company of Indiana. I can't say for certain what type of wood was used for this piece. It features a secretary-style fold-down writing surface. The interior portion has five small storage drawers and 8 cubbies inside. There is one large dovetailed drawer on the outside of the piece. The top is a curio style cabinet with glass panel doors. The cabinet interior has two adjustable shelves. Each with a single plate grove. There is a key to secure the desk. Beautiful Antique Chippendale Style Mahogany Secretary Desk
This has been in our family since it was bought new- probably in the 1920s- maybe a little earlier. It is in very good condition- original finish and all original hardware and glass. It is very solid. And inside it has various neat cubbies, including two hidden compartments. It has claw feet and a lot of nice details. I have looked around, but haven't been able to find another one exactly like it. The manufacturer's label is long gone, but it is a quality piece(the original owner had a seat on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange) We would keep it but can't find a place to put it in our house.

VTG Drexel Et Cetera Mahogany Mid Century Secretary Desk Hutch Chair Spanish Rev
Up for sale is a true vintage Mid Century Spanish Revival secretary/hutch and matching chair in mahogany. This is by Drexel from a style called Et Cetera. The measurements are 70" tall. 30.5" wide and 18" deep at the widest point(the cabinet at the base) These measurements were done with the doors and desk portion all closed up. This is all one piece as opposed to a hutch that sits on top of and can be separated from the desk portion. This is a very solid and well made chair and secretary-hutch. The one drawer that pulls out from the lower cabinet has dovetail joinery. The two pieces are mahogany veneer over hardwood. The back of the secretary is a wood panel. The color varies quite a bit depending on lighting at the time of the photograph. Please see my photographs taken in the early afternoon. The photographs were taken out ... moreof doors. But the piece is of course being stored indoors. When taking my initial photographs I forgot to insert the three original shelves into the top cabinet, so I have photographed them separately indoors against a wall. The piece and the matching chair feature elegant black curvilinear stencil type decoration at various points. Please see my photos. One of the coolest features of this piece are two original candle holders that can be inserted into metal supports on each side near the front. These holders swing out and away from the piece. I have one of the original candles that went with this piece. I am trying to locate the other candle. If I find it. I will update this listing and of course include it. The locking closure on the bottom cabinet is also very cool. It is solid brass or iron and heavy. The vertical handle can be lifted up to insert one portion of the locking closure into the other.
