The desk comes with four raised panel dove tail drawers that retain all the original hardware. The center where the legs go have a reverse cove carving, which I have never seen in oak. It has a scallop bottom trim base, raised panels all the way around and a wide bevel edge on the solid tiger sawn oak top. The only negatives I see on the desk is that there is a little wear on the edge of the top from rubbing against something and there is a split going down the center of the top. We most likely could pull the top off and repair the top, which wouldn’t make a huge difference, but it is an expensive repair. The desk itself is high end quality.

Dating from the 1890s era. It is in complete restored condition and all set to go in the home. We take a lot of pride in doing up our antiques nicely, and we certainly went all out here, with our head refinisher Norm doing a job of unbelievable quality on this desk. It has a tiger sawn writing surface in the center, which had to be glued back down as most desks of this age. We also had to re-glue everything, reinforce the roll, sand, strip, stain, and apply multiple coats of sealer and satin sheen lacquer on this hard-to-find 66-inch-wide roll-top desk by the Derby Desk Company of Boston, Mass. If you’ve been looking for a roll-top, and you’d like one to brag about, this one gives you all the bragging rights you’ll ever need. Look at the carved handles, which are much better than normal, and how thick the top and swing sides and writing surface are. Everything on this piece is much better quality than the average desk. This is an Antique Victorian/ Edwardian Wood& Brass Desk Set with Beveled Glass Inkwells. The alms box was purchased in England and we assume it was probably made there. We do not know its age specifically but we were told it was Victorian or Edwardian and that appears to be correct. The wood definitely appears to hardwood. Possibly oak. The base measure 9 3/4" x 5 1/4" x 5/8" high. There is a cylindrical tray near the front for pens. Then base is nicely finished with a nice patina of age. Each inkwell is 2 1/2" square and 1 7/8" tall. All 12 edges are beveled. Enhancing their appearance. The center of the base has a solid brass handle with a shape similar to a nautical cleat, for easy lifting and moving the set on a desk top. Condition The set is overall in very nice condition. Narrow chips on the top edge of the bevel, 1/8" near a corner, and 1/16" further along the same edge as seen marked with two arrows. These chips are not overly noticeable, and would not be seen at all if turned to the back There are some ink stains in the bottom of the depressions for the inkwells. Their eyes revolve to the current time as time ticks away; fascinating! The back of the case has a metal plate covering the key wind, mechanical movement. All hardware is present including the time setting knob and winding key; lasts for several days on a single wind. There is a slow/fast adjustment too in case the clock timing ever needs to be sped up or slowed down as you wish. The clock works and keeps good time too but being an antique clock and we don't know the service history, some adjustments or service may be necessary once the clock arrives at its new home. We often advise our clock customers to service their antique or vintage clocks at least once every three years. Doing so will preserve a classic clock like this one and keep it healthy for years to come. I've looked the clock over fairly well and can't find any damage save a small nick here and there; nothing detracting, nothing could! Primitive Antique Apothecary Desk Top Cabinet From the home of an antique collector. This is a nice table top Cabinet. Nice original wood patina, I think the wood may be walnut but am not sure. There is a front paneled door that has a lock, but I do not have the key. Inside there are six compartments on the top and a small drawer on the bottom. The drawer has dove tailed corners in the front and a nice brass drawer pull. The back and bottom of the drawer may have been replaced, not sure. The sides of the cabinet have a lighter finish with a darker stain toward the back, I'm not sure why, maybe the cabinet was inside some sort of structure. The top lid folds down to reveal a writing surface, still has the old velvet, the ribbon is a recent replacement of course. Under this is a storage area for papers or documents. This antique table came out of an old warehouse. I believe it was used in a early newspaper office. The manufacture is Western Electric. I did some research and found no other desk or drafting tables that compares to this unrestored pc. I think it had been stored for years and has a great patina consistent with the age and use. The wood has ink stains, small surface scratches, all marks are minor please examine photos closely. I'm sure it will clean up beautifully and will add class and charm to any home, office, or museum. This is a Beautiful 19 th Century Traveling Lap Desk. The box is covered in a wood veneer and has an inlay circle on the lid and around the key hole. The writing surface is covered in green velvet and is original to the piece. The hinges are original and in good repair. In addition to storage under the writing surfaces. There are four compartments, one of which is covered. The bottom of the desk is covered in green felt. The box is in very good aged condition. There are few places were the veneer has broken and there are some age or shrinkage cracks to the wood(see pictures) The box is 14” across. 9” wide, and 5” tall. This is a fabulous old writing box.It measures 10 3/4 x 7 1/4 x 3 in. A small size. Maybe for travel.There are a couple of chips in the wood which I have pictured.In the rectangular section at the top is a spot for a pice of wood which is missing.I think for a hidden compartment.The joints are wonderfully fine.There are letters of the alphabet written in pencil on the bottom.

Offered here is an antique Victorian 1800s solid wood sloped travel lap desk with brass lock and key. Featuring a brass top plate. Brass hinges and lock, red felt writing surface with two storage compartments underneath. It has two inkwell compartments and the center section for pens lifts out. The wood looks beautiful and is undamaged. The lock and key work properly and the hinges are undamaged. There is no manufacturer's information or label on the desk. Structurally it is in nice condition. Although the top has an age crack in the wood(see pics) There is also a small repair on the bottom right corner of the writing surface. Antique desk top/counter top radio. Wood built, pulley system for tuning.
This old radio does work.But also dies need work. I get one or two stations playing around but the strings to elevate the internal parts. Like tubes, etc. Are not all hooked up and some wires may not be where they should. But.it does work. One slat inn the wood grill is broken, but this little radio is very cool and it tunes by lifting everything inside up and down tuning the radio to the stationary antenna vs adjusting the antenna. Plus it is pretty loud turned up and the look alone starts conversation. Sold as is. I will work with you if your completely unhappy. But do understand I have not restored any of this other than linseed oil and playing around getting it to work. Awesome Antique 1880s- 1907 Cast Iron School Desk. Ornate cast iron is more intricate of a design than most. This is a larger sized desk. Not one of the smaller desks. This is in great antique shape overall, and is still attached to floor boards. Cast iron pieces have the following identifiers. I have not found a city or state but I have not turned it over. As it is heavy. Right leg underside: 2R Left left underside: 1-2-L Underside of left leg and also on left upper side plate: Patent No 478786 I think this may be from 1881. Grand Rapids Michigan but that is only because I saw another one that looked different, with the same patent no. but that only means it is using the same patent. Not that it is made at that time. This looks to be an older desk than the ones I have seen from MI or IL. So I have no real idea. And I would appreciate any ... morehelp identifying. It is a very nice desk at any rate, and I love the ornate scrolls and cast carvings. Would look exceptional if it is refinished. A very nice vintage piece that will look great in any home. Antique wood desk swivel chair on casters
I don't know how old this chair is. My father always said he remembered it as a child; he did not know when his father got it. That being so. It would be at least 85 years old. The casters work smoothly and are original. No cracks in the wood or pulled screws. Sound joints. Solid hardware. The spring that tensions the back rest is in 3 pieces and I can't tell if that's intended or if it broke, though I suspect the latter. Tensioner still works, but seems I recall when I was a child that the backrest had more travel. Adjustable seat height. It's actually in remarkably good condition with incredibly few appearance dings. Pic shows the smudge of white paint on the seat front edge; and there are a few spatters of white paint on the seat. It probably would shine up almost to new, though that may not be the appropriate thing to ... moredo to an original piece that could be 100 years old. It is, of course, real wood-no composites. Maximum seat measures: 15 1/2" front to back; 15 5/8" side-to-side; 1 5/16" thick. Back measures about: 13 7/8" wide x 6 7/8" high x 9/16" thick. Backrest stem is about 19 1/2" long x 1 1/2" wide, from 7/8"1 1/2" thick. Leg spread about 17 1/4" The close up of the caster shows you: a) we haven't cleaned it; b) casters have ball bearings; c) casters are sized to run on hard surface. I will ship via a 3rd party shipper-I take the chair to FedEx or UPS. You deal directly with them for packing and transport and payment of their services. It weighs about 24# probably would ship in a carton 20x20x20 about 30# depending on your instructions to the shipper. Any transit damage would be an issue to resolve with the shipper; my part is done when I deliver the chair to the shipper. No returns-the pics show you exactly what will be delivered to the shipper.

Neat old. Vintage/antique( brass school bell with great patina. Wood(oak? handle. Great, loud sound. As found 25 years ago. Smooth wood handle with original etched lines has the#6 on it. Button" top. Handle is securely fitted on the bell. The nicely shaped bell has original etched line all the way around the flared base. Normal wear for age. No dents, however, minor pitting in one location which does not impact the overall great look. Minor surface scratches. Clapper is intact and original. Nice weight. All original.
