So I will be listing several items ... morefor sale. Please check out my other items. This is an extremely rare antique schoolhouse, or possibly a university, desk. It is hand hewn solid wood, very thick for todays standards. It was manufactured by the George M. Hammer Co. Ltd. in Strand London in the late 1800's or possibly the VERY early 1900's. They were builders of church and school furniture in England. It still has the brass ink well cover as shown in the pictures and also still has the porcelain casters. The desk part slide in and out for comfort and fit. The bas is 34" long, 11" wide in the front and 14" wide in the back. The desk section measures 22" long, 19" wide, 10" tall in the back and 6" tall in the front. It is 38" tall in the back. It is missing one small wood brace as shown in the pictures. I have had a lot of school desks over the years but this is by far the most unique and rare I have ever found.

Antique School Desk with Inkwell- 1930s +/- Completely Restored
Completely dismantled and restored to new condition is a 1930s +/ child school desk. All wood was stripped. Sanded, and finished with 2 coats of Danish oil and 3 coats of gloss poly. Cast iron was stripped, primed, and finished with a gloss black spray paint. Any missing screws were replaced with vintage screws, and a vintage glass inkwell I bought on Ebay was inserted to complete the project. Came out perfect. I added the oak strips on the bottom to protect flooring, they can be easily removed if desired.

Vtg Antique Original 1881 #2 A.H. Andrews Cast Iron School Desk Bench Legs Parts
This is a fantastic pair of early original antique A.H. Andrews cast iron school desk legs from the 1880's. There is a patent date on one of the seat brackets that looks like 1881. There is a large number 2 in the middle of both legs that might correspond with the size or model of the desk. Others I've seen didn't have numbers or were marked with a number 3. And these look like they have more detail. They are also marked New York, Chicago. There is some black paint left. But the majority of the paint has worn off and has been replaced by surface rust. The decorative bracket that holds the seat rotates on both legs, so the seat could have been pushed down for use or up storage or transport. These would make a fantastic bench or architectural piece. They are still sturdy and solid, moving parts still move, and nothing is broken, ... morebent, or missing. There are three holes on each foot, so they could be bolted down. There is only one other screw hole on each, at the end of the seat bracket, so I'm not sure how a desk top or bench would attach. They each measure 29" W with the seat down or 19" W with it up and stand 27 1/2" H. They measure 18" W at the feet and 14" W where the desk top attaches. They will be packed very well and insured during shipping.

Desk is solid wood with original hardware. A few scuff marks of white paint on the side from moving but is otherwise in really great shape. There are some pencil doodles on the bottom of it from some student. This came from Georgia and I believe it is much older than the 1950s but don't know. Top easily opens up from the hinges on the back. Pick up only from the Delray Beach Florida area. Legs are slim and do look pretty modern to me. Would make a great side table or small desk for a child.
