The large Secretary Desk Bookcase has a half round mirror on the left top side over the desk area and the right top side has a double brass finial and rod gallery over the bookcase area. Everything is completely original except for the mirror which was broken has been replaced. There is a small wood professional repair to the bottom left corner of the drop front lid but that is minor and matches the grain and not noticeable. It has been completely refinished to restore its original Golden Oak finish and ready for your beautiful home. Notice the beautiful quartered sawed oak grain through out the piece and the deep heavy ornate carvings and bead work. What a great piece of furniture. It doesn't get any better than this! There are three shelves in the bookcase that are adjustable. There is one shelf below in the lower double door compartment that locks underneath the desk. Each drawer and door has a skeleton key lock with two keys included. Inside the desk is a beautiful pigeon hole interior and one small drawer with a brass knob. The piece is complete with an open shelf above the drop down desk. The piece is 50" wide. 14" deep, and 80 1/4" or 6 ft. 8 1/4" tall. Excellent Antique Oak Larkin No 17 Secretary's Desk
I've been busy trying to get some good stuff in shop to try to jump-start sales a bit and upcoming shopping season is coming quickly. I went to a good auction in upstate New York the other day and tried to pick up smaller furniture that fits within Greyhound Express size limits. Anyway this is a score and I'm proud to offer this for your consideration. I believe this is a No 17 model desk and it is truly in very nice condition with no signs of repairs or break except the bottom drawer has a minor glue in corner. The finish is very good as the pictures should show off and the original key works fine and all hardware is original and working perfectly. It is nice and sturdy a sets flush with no wobbles. It measures 47" tall x 30" wide x 17" deep. The back is not beautiful with the white wash but the original Larkin labels ... moreare present and in good shape. Once again Greyhound Express is great and should ship this for about 90 west coast and 70 east. As long as you can pick it up. Local pick up is always option too and I now have a utility trailer and can deliver within reason. This entire piece is very worn in every way yet remains stable and sturdy. This was originally a desk drawer to an old oak desk. The out side is oak and brass, I think the inside is pine. This measures 30" x 12" x 8" and is just about 10 pounds. I would say it is 19th century with much patina. Also as worn as it is there is no mold, no smells or anything repulsive about it. Solid quarter sawn oak with raised panels. The deep finish is in excellent condition with a few mars at the edges for antique character. A wide roll glides smoothly but has no key. Inside are small cubicles, mail slots, letter holders and a locking compartment. The center drawer is rebuilt, a bank of four dovetailed drawers with carved pulls are deep. Oak 1895 Antique Dropfront Secretary Desk. 3 Drawers. Solid oak furniture dating from about 1895 during the Victorian period. This American made secretary desk is highly functional. A locking drop front with raised panels opens to well worn cubbyholes inside. The back is wainscoting. The finish is in very fine condition. Three large drawers in the separate base have original pulls. The two pieces appear to have always been together, but it is impossible to be certain. antique ~ oak ENGLISH WRITING DESK& HUTCH ~ leaded glass accents I purchased this lovely vintage OAK ENGLISH WRITING DESK-HUTCH thirty-years ago from a high end antique dealer and it has most certainly been one of my favorite pieces. It is petite and it is made with SOLID OAK. It has its original finish. The HUTCH and DESK DOORS have simple leaded glass fronts. It is accented with large nail head accents inside and outside down near the bottom of the desk. All the hardware is original. The approximate age of this desk is early late 1800- 1900's. It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION with the exception of the leather across the top has a small burn mark and the arch at the top of the hutch is missing one wood peg. Both of these imperfections can be fixed easily if you choose to do so. Please see pictures for a better visual descriptions. It has all four original casters and is otherwise in all original condition. It swivels and tilts. It has a nice contoured, carved seat. very comfortable. There is a label underneath saying: W. H. Gunlocke Co, Wayland, NY. It is very solid and in the same condition now as when I got it, with normal wear as expected on such a piece. It measures about 33" high at the tallest in back, the base is 26" wide, and the chair proper is 23" wide or so. Very cool item. I can’t really ship this due to size and weight. It has Kellogg on the black speaker, the oak grain is beautiful and it measures 19in high by 8 7/8 in wide(the back wooden plate) and measuring from the wall out to the end of the writing desk it is 10 inches. Here is a fantastic original Georgian circa late 1700's English solid oak desk with gorgeous figured mahogany. The mahogany would have probably been added at a later date such as the early 1800's when figured mahogany veneer became more popular and more readily available. The pigeon hole interior has a unique look and design with lots of extra added details as well as a well interior below the writing surface which simply slides open. The interior is solid oak.some beautiful quartersawn and this slant front will lock with a replaced lock and key. Hinges are heavy iron and original. The top drawer is a false drawer and then the 2 over 3 drawers are all graduated. All of the drawers inside and out are hand dovetailed as shown. A fire destroyed the plant and all of its finished stock one year after forming. Mr. Shattuck withdrew his support after this loss and outside interests gained control of the company. Mr. Marble stayed with the company and directed its manufacturing operations until 1895. Another fire in April 1897 is mentioned. The New Register April 8, 1897 issue has a front-page article"A Midnight Blaze" talking about this fire. The paper said it was the work of arsonists and threw 40 men out of work. Despite the seriousness of the fire, the news article ends with"Mr. Charles Klinger was absent on a fishing trip to Castalia when the factory burned. His enforced return was undoubtedly a decided relief to the trout in that locality. Mr. Marble left the company. This is a original Mission Style oak library table. Not a reproduction. The top is 42 inches wide by 26 inches deep and it is 30 inches high. The top has a beautiful tiger oak grain pattern. ANTIQUE RARE CHILD'S OAK WOOD ROLL TOP DESK Up for Auction; Used Rare Vintage Antique Child's or Doll Oak Roll Top Desk. This desk is in Very Good Condition for its age. I do not know the exact age but believe it was around the late 1920's. I do know that the desk was stripped of its original stain and clear coated to bring back its original true oak color. And the drawer pulls were replaced, in the late 1980's. The desk show the normal wear for its age. A few of the wood slats appear to be loose but all are present and intact. One of the Front legs of the desk has a wood gouge. There is a small blue plastic pen holder that is glued down inside of desk(the pen is missing) There is NO chair with this desk. The overall dimensions is 15”deep by 20 1/2” wide and 33 1/2” tall. The interior of the desk is 12 1/2” deep and 17 1/2” ... morewide. There are 4 cubicles inside of the desk each measuring 3 1/2” deep by 3 1/2” wide. The drawer 11 1/2” deep and 15 1/4” wide and 1 1/2” high. Many use these as decorative displays for plants. Antiques, and crafts. But, if you want to play“school” you will need a chair. Take a look at my other listing. I have 2 other school desk one from ASCo and the other from Theodor Kundtz Co. listed. Circa 1880 to 1900. It boasts four graduated oak lined drawers in each pedestal. The right hand pedestal features a large filing drawer in the bottom drawer of the pedestal. The desk boasts very good quality solid oak fielded panels throughout and features the original oak cup handles to the pedestal and top. On each side of the tambour. There is a posting slot for mail(this allowed people to post mail into the desk while the tambour was locked) There is an oak modesty board. With two pullout-writing slides above 4 drawers in each pedestal. The interior has 10 internal drawers with the original brass finger hooks and 2 pigeonholes. There is a very useful storage area to place a laptop computer under the pigeonholes. The desk features a working locking mechanism when the roll-top is closed. Italian 1900 Antique Hand Crafted Oak Secretary Desk. This secretary desk was hand crafted in Italy around 1900 of solid oak. The old finish with some newer revarnishing preserves lots of antique character. Dings, wear and shrinkage separations from age. Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm patina. Wrought iron side handles are original. Brass hardware is old but not original. The lock on the dropfront does not work, the key is a handle only. Pull out arms support the lid. Inside are eight small drawers plus a locking compartment with inlaid banding and a star on the door. All drawers have hand cut dovetail joints on this historic European furniture. Every surface shows hand planing. Sides are single wide planks and the front has wooden pegs at the joints.
