He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of a quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. Top of desk 36 1/2" wide x 24 1/2" deep and the desk top is 29 1/2" above the floor. Will ship via Greyhound Bus to a station of your choice for you to pick up. English Renaissance 1890 Antique Carved Oak& Leather Desk. Beautifully worn. This 1890 era solid oak desk has a tooled leather top and was hand carved in the English Renaissance manner. Here is a fantastic original Georgian circa late 1700's English solid oak desk with gorgeous figured mahogany. The mahogany would have probably been added at a later date such as the early 1800's when figured mahogany veneer became more popular and more readily available. The pigeon hole interior has a unique look and design with lots of extra added details as well as a well interior below the writing surface which simply slides open. The interior is solid oak.some beautiful quartersawn and this slant front will lock with a replaced lock and key. Hinges are heavy iron and original. The top drawer is a false drawer and then the 2 over 3 drawers are all graduated. All of the drawers inside and out are hand dovetailed as shown. 1 Antique Oak Desk with"Secret Compartment" Chair Overall dimensions of this desk are 35" deep X 46" wide X 30 1/2" high. The hutch part of the desk is 17" Deep X 46" Wide X 21" High. The depth of the"Secret Compartment" back filing section of this desk is 13" Deep and app. 46" wide. This desk is much different than any that I have seen. It is a desk. With hutch that sits on top and is held in place with 4 dowels, one of which is broken. The desk has 12 drawers all of which are original and work. There are no guides, they slide on the wood. The drawer locks that hold the other drawers shut/locked all work and are not broken in any manner. The locks on the drawers do work but some how I have managed to lose the keys to this desk. The hutch has 4 drawers 16"cubby holes" for ... morestorage and one pencil holder drawer on the right and only the front piece of the left pencil holder. Also on the hutch is a pencil holder that attaches tot he side but is not attached. it got knocked off when moving it out of my house, still in one piece but not attached) The locks also work on the hutch drawers but again, I have lost the keys. The back section of this desk is what makes it very different and sort of unique. It has a filing section in it. There are two doors that also have a lock without a key. The left door has a latch and the right door locks. There are several"cubby holes" with some of the original paperboard boxes/trays and there are also other section in different sizes back there. Some of the boxes have markings on them such as insurance claims. Losses etc. I had the desk refinished and cleaned the best it could be without over sanding and damaging the original look and feel of the desk in 1976. The top of the desk has not had the leather put back on it. You can see where it was damaged and mostly removed to still use the desk. For sale is a very nice classic antique roll top desk. This desk is in excellent shape and all original. It is quarter sawn white oak and measures 65.5 across x 35.5 inches deep- uncommonly large for a vintage roll top desk. It stands 51 inches tall with the superstructure in place. I purchased the desk from an antique store in Pueblo. Colorado about 10 years ago and was told that it came from an attorney's office from Westcliffe, CO. I am no antique expert and can't estimate the age- only clue is the lock hardware that states a patent date of December 1884 and inscribed with"Corbin Cabin Lock Co. We are converting our home office into a bedroom and no longer need it. I have kept it regularly moisturized with Howard Feed-N-Wax wood preserver. This desk has the original curved. Rounded glass on the left side, which makes it really beautiful and elegant. There are shelves behind the glass to hold books and miscellaneous. The right side has a pull-down writing platform. And some cubby holes for envelopes, index cards, etc. and a small drawer for pencils, stamps, etc. Desk has all original hardware. The top has a beveled mirror and a shelf for decorative or practical items. The shelves to the left could be taken out and used as a gun case, but I've never used it for that, and you would have to put in your own lock and key. This is for pick-up only. Large Antique Tiger Oak Finish C style ROLLTOP DESK with interior drawers and cubicles circa 1900. This was obviously a mid-level managers desk. Extremely useable(and fun) with heavy solid wood and no expensive brass to polish. I have used it on a regular basis since I picked it up at an auction in 1971. Condition: signs of wear consistent with age and use. Various use marks, stains and scratches. no keys) Excellent restoration project. Please view the pictures. There was a repair to deal with a weakness in the desk when the roll-top is removed. Several minor repairs are still needed. But I choose not to make them so that I didn't mess up the value of the desk by doing them wrong. All of the original wood and screws are present for the repairs. A beautiful 1/4 sawn Tiger Oak Desk. made by Standard Furniture Company in Herkimer. NY. ca 1895- 1920. The top is about 30" deep and 50" wide& 1 1/2" thick. The build design allows you to get it into tight places. The top comes off of the pedestals and the stringers come out- makes it easy for one person to move. The pedestal feet are wrapped in brass and all the original hardware is intact. The drawers lock when the center drawer is in. Some of the knobs are bent and one is broken off but can be soldered back to its fastener which is still in the hole of the drawer. Also there would have been a coin tray in the cash drawer which would have slid forward and backward with the bills going underneath. Two of the thin divider boards are missing but would be easy to replace. The lettering on the front of the drawers were hand painted and are not decals which adds a ton of character to this cabinet. Tiny dovetail joints and mahogany banding suggest that the master cabinetmaker was apprenticed in England before emigrating to America. The satiny finish is in excellent condition. Solid oak construction shows hand planing marks and square hand cut nail heads. Graduated drawers have chamfered bottoms and hand cut dovetail joints. Brasses are old but not original on this traditional antique furniture. The lock and key still work on the drop front. Which rests on pull out supports. This is an Antique 19th Century Victorian Oak Roll Top Desk dating from the late 1800s. It measures 47 1/2 inches wide by 29 1/2 inches from front to back. It is 48 1/4 inches high. On the right there are two regular sized drawers and below them is a very deep drawer that is the size of two drawers in height. I will be listing 4 lots of furniture this week from a local estate. 3 are antique or vintage. 1 is modern. Oak Hill Antique Vintage Wooden High Chair that converts into a Desk. Made in Fitchburg. Mass. Adorable Bear playing the drums. Good condition with the exception of a few minor issues as you can see in the pictures. The tray has a crack the entire length of the tray. The latch at the bottom is bent. But it really is unnecessary. Also, the wooden dowels on one said is not in all the way. I'm sure they could be pushed in but I would rather not be the one who does the repair. The bottom of the desk is in rough shape but the top is fine. This piece is very sturdy and well built. Local pickup would be best but I could mail it if necessary. 36 inches tall. 50" wide X 30" deep X 43" high(to the top of roll top) Made in the late 1800's by Derby Desk Company. It is signed"Derby Desk. Boston, Mass, USA" on the brass keyhole plate. This is a beautiful. Original"S" curve roll top desk with letter slots on the side. Back in the day when the desk was locked, letters could be slipped through these slots. Unfortunately, we do not have the key. Inside the roll top there are 8 cubicles. 2 pen rests, 2 horizontal shelves approximately 8.5" X 11" just the right size for papers) and two drawers 11" wide X 7" deep X 2" high. The roll top with the above-mentioned nooks and crannies and the writing area are one piece. This rests on 2 separate cabinets. The first cabinet has a pull out writing shelf above a single drawer. Below the drawer is a cabinet ... moredoor with lovely old brass hardware which opens to an area of horizontal and vertical storage. Also within this cabinet is another"secret" storage area accessed under the desk! It's approximately 11" wide X 13" deep X 18" high. And also has nice brass hardware. The second cabinet has a total of 4 drawers each 19" deep X 11" wide. The top drawer is 3" high with two vertical dividers so that there are three sections. The second drawer is 4" high and the 2 bottom drawers are 5" high. There are three pieces of wood with hardware attached to secure the cabinets and roll top together. If desired. This is a beautiful old desk and fully functional. Because it is in three pieces. It can be moved easily. This item is for pick up only. We will not ship it. Antique Cast Iron Solid Oak & Leather Office Desk Chair "J" 374
Antique solid oak office desk chair. Two handles have a Victorian style"J" on them. Also has#374 marked. Casters where probably changed at some point but are metal covered. Leather back pad is in very good condition and was probably added at a later date. Chair is very heavy. Adjustable in at least three ways. Back goes up& down and has two knobs underneath. Not quit sure how it all works.
