An 8 day mantel clock similar to French inlaid mantel clocks. But this one is made in Switzerland, as stamped into the back plate of the movement. Case seems to be walnut on top and sides. And front various woods including green stained inlay(pear-wood? The clock is complete but would benefit from a thorough check over. As it will sometimes run all by itself and then stop for no accountable reason. It is started at a very low price because I do not know how to make it reliable. Except that the escapement is running and the clock runs, albeit usually not for very long.

Up for auction is an antique German wooden mantel shelf clock with Westminster Chimes. It is 16 in. high. 13 in. wide and 8 in. deep. It is a heavy clock. The face is marked K.C. Co. Germany. The movement is marked with B11 and the Junghans trademark star with a J at the bottom and unghans above. We are selling this clock for repairing. It will run for a couple of days and then stop. We think it has a broken spring. There is no key. The chimes work. They chime on the quarter hour, half hour, three quarter hour and the hour. It gongs the number of the hour. The finish seems to be original. There is a large crack on the back door and a small crack on one side as shown. It is a beautiful old clock that needs some work. Small Vtg 1920s Art Deco Blue Frosted Molded Glass Clock dresser boudoir desk
I have up for sale a beautiful vintage original circa 1920s- 30s Art Deco style Small Blue Frosted Glass Clock. Probably for a bedside nightstand or a dresser, maybe a desk or small shelf. I do not know the maker of the glass, but is high quality and most likely European in origin. The clock works, has the original mechanical movement. It runs smoothly and quietly, appears to keep good time but was just recently purchased and has not been observed for any great length of time. I sell old clocks AS IS, meaning it should be serviced because I have no way of knowing when this was last done. The clock stands apprx 4-7/8" tall. 4-1/2" wide, 2" deep,and weighs roughly 1 lb 5 ounces. The glass clock case surround is beautiful. Gorgeous blue frosted glass. Basically in Great Shape, some trivial nibbling/ roughness on the front upper ... moreright corner area as shown upclose in the last pic. There are 2 heat check lines on both the left and right, shown in pics 8& 10, these lines are superficial and do not go thru the glass, done during the manufacture of the glass,not damage from hitting against something- trivial yet noted for accuracy. The dial face is in excellent shape. Has nice art deco minute and hour hands, a small seconds dial below. Has a beveled glass crystal front glass. I can not identify the maker but lean toward a European maker. Possibly Walther& Sohne or maybe Heinrich Hoffmann. Case: 19.5” ormolu and champlevé undulating figural mantel clock surmounted by a gilt Cupid rocking to and fro in the waves as the clock ticks above a black. White, blue and gold champlevé base which rests on the centrally placed clock dial. The dial is surrounded with similar champlevé decoration, ormolu shell and floral mounts above and and a light color champlevé plaque below with the base embellished with scrolled gilt god heads and acanthus leaf ormolu all sitting on extended lion paw feet. The sides of the case are similarly ornamented. Dial: A two part dial with blue champlevé dial center while the gilt main dial ... morehas a Roman hour chapter with gilt decoration throughout and classic steel French Roman hands. Around the perimeter of the dial are the words“Theodore B Starr” Movement: A round solid plate brass movement powered by two barrel springs of eight day duration and striking a coiled gong on the hour and half hour. Two markings on the rear plate are noteworthy: in the upper right is the name"Henry. Paris' in an oval cameo while on the left is a marking with the name"Dufaud, Paris 318" There is a short pendulum and bob hanging from a spring at the back of the movement. Condition: Clock is in running and striking condition but in need of cleaning. There is expected wear on the hour chapter of the dial and oxidation mainly to the back of the case along with some small areas of darkening on the front as seen on the right acanthus leaf gilt foot. History: Dufaud worked ca. 1870 in Rue De Saintainge. Paris while while Clement Henry worked ca. 1870 in Rue Ste.Genevieve. Both men were clockmakers, working individually in Paris. This is an old antique 19th Century mantle clock from a fabulous estate. I know nothing about clocks and bought this as I thought it was beautiful and work look great on a mantle. I do not know if it is in working order. I opened up the back and the pendulum is missing and it looks to have slight rust inside. It is 21" by 11" by 6" and weighs 22 pounds. The top putti has an old repair on his waist and the center onyx panels has some wiggle so may want to tighten it. This is stunning in person. It is in very good overall condition. Conn U.S. The decorative details of the wood case are amazing- metal feet and side handles, faux marble detail in the arches, two classical statues in the arches, etc. The clock face is in good condition as is the rest of the clock. I am not certain that it works- I wound it a very little bit with a key I have(no key comes with the clock) and it seemed to tick and chime. The pendulum is with the clock. The inside works look like they are in good condition but because I am not a clock expert I have to sell this"as is" in terms of it working. Carriage Clocks A mid 19th Century gorge case carriage clock having a polished brass and hand chased case. With thick bevel edge glass panels. It has exceptional hand painted front and side panels on porcelain with jeweled accents, gold gilt, and cobalt blue borders. The 8 day movement strikes the hours and halves on a gong and has a working hour repeat button. The clock has its original lever platform. Made by Achilles Brocot, Paris(1817- 1878) a famous French clockmaker of the 19th Century. The dial is 2 1/8" in diameter. Note the tropical theme to the paintings of the panels- beautiful white cranes on each panel. And birds on the front panel. Size is 5 3/4" tall- 7 1/4" with the handle x 4" x 3 1/2" Condition is very good- 2 tiny chips to the front panel; one to the top right corner. And one to the lower left corner, ... morethat can't be seen with the movement installed- tiny chip to the top right corner of the back glass panel. Weight is a heavy 2016 grams. Achille Brocot(1817–1878) was a French clockmaker and amateur mathematician.He is known for his discovery(independently of and contemporaneously with German number theorist Moritz Stern) of the Stern–Brocot tree. A mathematical structure useful in approximating real numbers by rational numbers; this sort of approximation is an important part of the design of gear ratios for clocks.
