Here is a very beautiful art deco dancing lady book end pair from the 1920's. They are made of spelter metal and they stand upon white marble bases. They are really quite detailed and have their original finish. There is substantial loss to the finish. But this is to be expected. This lovely metal book end pair measures approximately 7 inches high by 5 inches wide by 3 inches deep. It features a fine pair of art deco dancers in similar but not identical poses-one has her head tilted back more and the other is leaning back a bit further. The metal has no cracks and is made of heavy spelter-see photos. They were created at some time during the art deco period. This is an authentic antique spelter metal lady book end pair. Standing cat pin cushion, c. 1900 dimensions: 2 7/8(height) x 1 3/8(width) x 2 1/2(depth) inches This whimsical cast-spelter standing cat pincushion was decorated in a"cold painted" process. And is typical of the small decorative figures manufactured in Austria and Germany during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Although the figure has seen some use. It is complete, including the original cloth-covered pincushion. CONDITION: Good condition. Pair antique French Emile Bruchon spelter statue figure figurine clock pieces
You are bidding on a pair of French spelter statues. Mounted on beautiful wooden bases, with some sort of marble looking finish, most likely from late 1800's. The clock and topper is not included in the auction. It is hard to find a matching pair. Generally single pieces are easy to find, a ppx 17-1/2 inches tall from base to top. Very impressive and detailed castings. You cannot beat the beauty of french castings. The wooden bases have name plates"Denicheuse Par Bruchon" and"Passage Du Gue Par Bruchon" each of the statue is also signed by French sculptor, Emile Bruchon(1880-1910) Both the statues are in good condition. With some light green finish, which possibly is original, I dont see any major damage or issues, having said that I am not claiming that they are damage free, there might be issues beneath the finish, ... moreso please review pictures or ask for more. I am not expert on statues. However the girl's fingers looks like repaired, as one of the fingers is thinner then the other, and roughness on the others. Again, you be the judge, I am not claiming them to be damage free, there is a 1/2 inch stress crack on the girls shoulder, hard to capture, and there might be more, but I have'nt seen them. The finish for the most part is quite good on statues but there are areas with loss of finish, and dust, it seems that some one tried to do touch up on some spots. I was told by a fellow Ebayer that there might have been a bird in the girl's hand. Every thing described to the best of my knowledge. Two Antique Spelter Statues. Heliotrope, Peryenche, Signed Julien Causse, Art Nouveau, NR Up for auction are these two vintage spelter statues signed by Julien Causse. Julien Caussé(1869-1914) was a prolific French sculptor during the Art Nouveau period of the late 19th and early 20th centuries who specialized in small figures. Caussé was born in Bourges. France and was active as a sculptor from 1890 until his death in 1914. He studied under Alexandre Falguière and his pieces were exhibited at the Salon des Artists Francais in the 1890s, obtaining honorable mentions in 1882 and 1900 and a third class medal in 1893. He also took part in the Exposition Universelle of 1900. The auction includes both statues. The first is called Heliotrope. This statue is a woman wearing a flowing dress with bare shoulders with heliotrope flowers ... morein her hair. She is holding a large flower in her right hand. This statue stands 18" high. The second is called Peryenche. This statue is the same type although she stands 17 1/2" tall and her dress covers one shoulder. Both are signed on the base by the artist and stand on wooden bases. Fine Spelter Zeus or Thor, Medusa Wall Sconce Large
Purchased recently at a Central Ohio auction is this fine spelter cherub sconce. The shelf portion is 15 inches long and 5 1/2 inches wide. The base is 14 inches wide and 12 1/2 inches high. There is small broken pieces on the edges. 2 onthe right side and 2 on the left. Also the shelf has separated from the base on the top left side. It also looks like the shelf had detached from the base and someone hot glued it back together. I feel this could be redone and welded or solder back together. This is fabulous architectural item that needs to be preserved and could be done in the right hands. These pieces, evan with a small amount of damage, are getting harder and harder to find. Vintage Spelter and Iron statue of a seated scollar holding a globe and pen and having tools at his feet. Statue is mounted on an iron stand painted black with six adjustable brass feet. Not sure who this is. Globe sshows Europe and Africa. There is a cartousche with a cherub's face on the front of the base. 11 inches wide.11 3/4 inches high and 5 inches deep. Very nice French Spelter Figurine. Or c ould possibly be used as a newel post statue. This pi ece l ooks to be transitional. V i ctorian to Early Art Nouv eau. The base has a small brass plaque which reads"Allegresse Par Ruffany" Did not look the t ranslation up. But I am sure e asy enough to decipher. She stands app rox. 18.5" tal l. Please N ote: She is in AS IS condit ion. If you notice the last two pics. You will see that she at some point has become detatched from her base. It look s as though. She was reattatched at some point with an adhesive, but not sure wh at i t was. She would probably need to be braised back on. Or JB weld may work, not sure. Other than her bein g sep arated from the base. She is in g reat condition. All of her fingers. Hair, ribb o ns. And bo ws are intact and da mage free. I do notice a small ... morestress fracture at her waist which travels almost to the middle. But seems to be still completely s truct urally sound. H er base still has remains of the adh esive that was used. But is al so in great condition. T he only thing to note. Is there is a little rubbing to t he brass applied p ieces. But that is consisten t with age. O n the bottom. There is a small dent, but not noticeable unless you turn the piece o ver and look for it. With all of that said. Antique Francois Moreau Spelter Lamp
I have for sale an antique Spelter lamp without shade. The shade was missing when I retrieved the lamp from my Grandmother's house after the 1994 earthquake. The lamp stands 30" from the pink marble base to the tip which is the only damaged piece in the lamp(see last photo) In the circle on the side it says Fabrication Francois and then folling the circle it says Made in France Paris. On another side it reads Francois Moreau. Who we know lived from 1832-1927 and worked and studied in Paris. The sides of the lamp feature a rams head and lots of intricate designs. Original Art Deco Spelter Figure of a Naked Lady on Alabaster Base
An original early art deco spelter figurine of a nude lady. She measures 11.5 inches high and is in good condition for her age with just some rubbing and flakes to the cold painted finish but no fingers are missing and no repairs. She is on an alabaster base and this has some very small nibbles hear and there but nothing very noticeable. The figure has a pale gold/ silver coloured paint finish which seems to change with the light. I am also selling. In a separate auction, another very similar figure but in a different pose and they make a very good pair,There is no makers mark or signature but it is a good piece of period sculpture with lots of graceful movement as in the figures produced by Lorenzl in the 1930s. This antique French hanging light chandelier is an absolute treasure. Dating from the early 1900s it would be a stunning piece for any period chic maison. The cherub or angel is gilded spelter in a rich decadent old gold. He has large splayed beautifully detailed wings that flow out behind him. He has the traditional cherub podgy knees and derriere and wonderful tumbling curls. His body is draped with a swag that falls around his middle. Wonderful pair of turn of the century or earlier spelter lamps. They are from the Moreau foundry in France. The family had quite a few family members whose art was produced in bronze and in spelter. At the foundry. These genre fisherman lamps are by Francois Moreau and are quite scarce. There are the classical figures to be seen and many putti but the Genre are rare. This pair shows a fisherman and his wife. He carries his oars over his shoulders. She carries a basket of a small ray and mullets. The detailing is exquisite. The net he's carrying. The wave at his feet, her basket of fish and scarf flowing. Unfortunately there is a small hole on her back. I believe it came about when the figures were made into lamps. Awesome Pair of God's of War Figurines. One appears to be the Greek God of War and the other the Roman God of War. Unfortunately somewhere along the way. The Roman Go d lost his hand. Other than that. Both figurines appear to be intact. They are quite heavy and appear to be some type of medium stronger tha n spelter. Almost an iron type material. The bases are bo th cast i ron. The bases have two holes in them that are original so not sure if they were originally wired o r h eld some typ e of gas tubing? I d o not know much about them. I purchase them in a shop in Jackson. A Rare Austrian. Cold-Painted Spelter'Pyjama Girl' Table Striker or Lighter, designed& signed by Josef Lorenzl& cold-painted by Crejo, around 1925. Josef Lorenzl was one of the most famous and prolific sculptors of the Art deco period. He produced figurative pieces in both bronze. Spelter and porcelain, where he worked along side Stephan Dakon in the famous Austrian Goldscheider factory. His pieces depicted the style and elegance of the period, where his ladies with their slim elongated, almost boy-like features found fame throughout Europe and the world. His sense of oppulence and sexual liberation, reflected the revolution in society of the roaring nineteen-twenties and thirties! This paticular piece is cast in cold-painted spelter. As a gentleman's table lighter or striker, with varieing hues of gold, silver& coppery ... morebrowns. Which is then finally hand-painted with floral decorations& polka-dots by Crejo. Who painted many of Lorenzl's bronze and spelter figures, and was notable for his hand-painted flowers. It depicts a 1920's lady retiring for the night wearing her floral-silk pyjama suit, resting against a plynth, with a slightly bemused expression? To her rear is the shelf& plynth, that would of held the lighting oil and still retains the original strike-wand for lighting. All is in lovely original condition, with only slight strike marks to the rear of the striking plate, showing original signs of use. She stands an elegant 210mm's tall by 100mm's deep and 100mm's wide. And is quite weighty for her size! She is stamped with the'ANR' foundry mark in a diamond lozenge& Made in Austria' underneath the base. All my pieces are very well wrapped& packed in strong boxes to secure safety in transit. Antique Victorian Brass Spelter Onyx Tavern Table Lamp Stand LION HEAD FEET Base
This amazing table base dates from the middle to late 1800s and appears to be of American origin. It was most likely for a high end pool hall. River boat or similar and stands just 27” x 18 ½” across the MASSIVE cast white metal classical base with roaring lions’ heads, clawed paw feet, anthemion, scrolls and you name it. The 4” diameter column of reeded solid brass pipe is accented by a considerable disc of natural onyx and all of the fittings are cast and engine turned brass with traces of dore color. The surfaces are all original and have not been polished, so you will note spots of tarnish and verdigris under a protective coat of wax. Likewise the base has worn original gold paint under a dark wax polish that accents the details in the casting. The white metal has a missing anthemion and several structural cracks with late bolt repairs ... moreand some baling wire thrown in for good measure. The wrought iron reinforcements appear to be original. It is sturdy and usable and stands just a bit off-kilter. Art Deco Marble And Bronzed Spelter Bird Lamp The base of the lamp is made from marble. Mounted on the marble is a beautifully crafted bronzed spelter bird and a glass dome which covers the bulb. The lamp comes with its original swich but there isn't a plug. The overall condition of the lamp is very good but the brass socket needs tightened. The glass dome has a few very minor chips to the base( not noticeable when sat on socket) and there is a very minor hairline( approx 0.5cms) towards the top. Various diameter length 3/16" thick fuse- or glue-attached ornamental teal glass round wafer button jewels, also blacklight-sensitive. It's a magnificent labor-intensive marriage of metal on glass-on-glass. The 7¼" diameter x 7½" high footed bowl with 4⅜" diameter disc foot is 3-part-constructed, with bowl attached to stem attached to disc base. There is a interior swirl pattern within the bowl; the hollow stem has a tunnel-optic spiral pattern; and the concave-attached ... moredisc base has a raised, smoothed center. The metal Art Nouveau basketweave-type applied metal designwork defies explanation, and one's normal patience level. This is a dedicated genius at work. Other than gilt wear and some age splits to this once softened or paste-liquified metal application, condition is superb! All glass parts fluoresce a fairly deep green for uranium ware under blacklighted conditions. This includes the teal glass jewels. a stunning french inkwell. The base i believe is marlbe. In very nice condition, no chips or cracks. the swan is possibly spelter with bronze and the little inkwell is cute and is in art deco design. so i presume in the art deco era base measures 32cm x 14cm. Most of the items i sell are vintage and antique so its very hard to be 100% accurate with the description. A Fine Art Nouveau Cold Painted Spelter Lady Menu/Advertising? Card Holder c1900
This fine art nouveau figure i think dates to around 1900. The figure is made of spelter that is cold painted and is in the form of a lady holding a plackard above her head which i think would have been used for holding a menu or advertising card but not certain, the figure has great detail and made in a typical nouveau style and has nice patina with age, the figure measures 8.5 inches high and in good condition apart from some wear to the paint as seen in the photos

An unusual spelter figure of a man picking a thistle thorn from a young boy's foot. The title reads" YE MAUNNA TRAMP ON THE SCOTTISH THISTLE LADDIE" Underneath this is the word"RIGHT" prefixed by another word which I am unable to make out. Measures 9" long. 9" high and 4.75" wide. Weighs 450 grams. The metal is pitted with age and there is a split at the back of the man's head. Otherwise in good. Unpolished/uncleaned condition.

A striking pair of antique spelter figures in a gilt finish. Each stands on a turned. Ebonised plinth. One figure only retains a brass plaque entitled Le Chasseur. The lady would have had a plaque which read La Chasseresse. Not a huge issue for this pair. Since the gilt finish and dramatic pose detracts hugely from the plaque loss. They make an handsome duo and lend themselves well to a position either side of a gilt mantel clock as garnitures. Each measures 14 inches tall and three and quarter inches wide across the base. L&F Moreau Art Nouveau Lamp with we believe to be the original glass lamps. Very charming French farm couple scene. Lamp is 27” tall including 9” base 20” across at widest point. It is made from Spelter. The lady does have a small chip on her outward hand. And the gentleman has small chips under his arm. Please see the pictures. This lamp is in very good condition considering its age. Below is some information about the brothers that created this lamp. L&F Moreau were two brothers who were part of the Moreau dynasty of sculptors from Dijon France in the 19th century. L&F Moreau were perhaps best known for creating highly ornate clocks and garniture sets in both bronze and spelter. The L stands for Louis Auguste(1855-1919) Known for bronzes and metal sculptures. The piping is 3/8 inch diameter, 12-3/4 inches long and threaded on both ends. The six sided tubing is 5/8 inches wide, 10-5/8 inches long with an incised design and high polished finish. The caps fit the tubing nicely. The three footed polished spelter metal Venus statue decorations are 5 inches tall, 2-1/2 inches wide at the center and are soldered to a ¾ inch piece of tubing. The metal ... morepiping shows some rust, the tubing and caps are excellent and the solder has broken loose at the base connection on one of the Venus statue. See photos. The other Venus is perfect. These pieces are as found in a local nonsmoking estate and I do not know what happened to the balance of the lamps. With a pair of matching bases these parts will make a wonderful pair of lamps.
