No Reserve, Free Shipping This is a handsome antique bracket clock manufactured by Junghans of Germany around the turn of the century. The company began producing clocks in 1877 and by 1903. Junghans was the largest clock-maker in the world. Crafted in elegant style, the wooden case is composed of solid mahogany and mahogany stained fruit wood. It features an ornately decorated brass dial frame with easy access to the chime switch and speed switch. The front glass panel is framed by four columns and ornate inlay scrolling details in a contrasting lighter mahogany veener. The clock houses a beautiful and rich sounding set of chimes that ring out the Westminster chimes tune. Accompanied by a key. In overall very ... moregood cosmetic condition with light general wear to the finish and some scattered scratches. Flaking, and knicks. There is a loss to the finish on the top left corner of the door at the back of the clock. The finish on the wood exhibits crazing. The wooden panel at the very top of the clock is slightly warped. This condition is consistent with age and use. The clock does not currently run. It does not wind. A very pretty antique Wall Clock. The clock is made of wood with bronze or brass mounts and is in the French style. It has floral garlands and a reeded design around the perimeter. I don't know anything about clocks but can tell you the mechanism is not in working order. When you wind it it just keeps turning without ever getting tight. Overall dimensions are 7 5/8" x 4 3/8" The French style Clock is in good overall condition with no cracks or repairs to the bronze mounts. The wood has minor wear to the finish. There are some faint hairlines in the enamel face which you can see under magnification. The Clock is very pretty and would make a fine addition to a time keeping collection. Long case Clock Face & Movement 8 days c1845 John N Marr FALKIRK Scotland
This auction is for an antique porcelain face. Hands and 8 day clock movement( with bell) from a circa 1840-1850 Long Case clock that was made in Falkirk, Scotland. With the name of the maker. John N Marr, and his town, Falkirk on the face. Has beautifully painted images with the Queen and two others(attendants? at the curved top part with the following lettering: Peace Victory Plenty#60 and the R in a diamond mark. At the corners of the lower part are portraits of women in dress of the four seasons with captions: Spring. Summer, Fall, Winter. There is a real metallic look to some of the images as if they possibly used gold or silver leaf that they then somehow tinted. The face is porcelain covered steel and had a couple of small chips. And about three dime sized spots where the porcelain is bubbling up from below. Otherwise in very good ... morecondition considering its age. The face is 20 1/8" high and 14 1/8" wide. The intricately engraved hands are in very good condition. The screw that holds the lower. Day of the month indicator hand on, may be a more modern replacement. The movement appears to be in good condition with no damaged or broken parts. It has the bell. If you move the pendulum lever the seconds hands moves. As do the hour and minutes hands. The rear brass plate of the movement is 6 1/2" by 5" in size. There is a repair tag from the I. Binnie clock repair shop of Studland. Dorset, with numerical notations: 493 44 429. I have some wood veneer pieces from the case. Mostly surround pieces from around the face. I do not have the case. Weights, or any other parts. From an 1888 news article about the clock maker: A painful sensation has been caused in the North by the recent sudden death. While on the return journey from the Glasgow Exhibition, of Mr. John Marr. Jeweller, of Falkirk. Mr. Marr. Who retired eleven years ago in favour of Mr. Gavin N. Hamilton. The dial is engined-turned. In very tiny lettering on the back, it is stamped"Made in England" and there is other letting which I am unable to identify. We have looked at other examples being offered on eBay and none are in such a fine state of preservation as this one. The face is not oxidized or damaged in any way. And the wooden cabinet has been very well maintained and shows only the most minor of wear. What makes this clock particularly appealing is the richness of the sound of the chimes, as well as the little man at the top who appears to be banging the bell with a hammer. The clock includes the original key, pendulum and even the operating instructions are still present. The mechanism winds, runs, and keeps excellent time without difficulty. However, we noticed the number of chimes are sometimes ... morenot the correct number for the hour. We know nothing about clocks but were told this is likely a very minor thing to fix. For Auction: Antique Waterbury Mantle Clock This is an absolutely beautiful Waterbury Mantle Clock. The Case is in Excellent Condition. I cannot determine what type of wood it is but there are no scratches or flaws to the Case. The dial and hands are in Great Condition. Door opens and closes easily. Brass Hinges are in Perfect Condition. No cracks or chips on the glass. The design on the bottom part of the door is in Very Good Condition. The Movement is clean but I cannot get it to work. The Brass Pendulum swings fine but the hands do not move so of course it won't chime. The paper to the inside back of the clock looks untouched. The inside of the clock is Clean with no smell. This clock has been kept in a Clean. Dry and Smoke Free Environment. There was a brown envelope inside of the clock that contained the Brass Pendulum, two Brass ... moreRings that look like they go in the winding holes and a piece of paper that had the names of who owned the clock in the past. This is an electric mantel clock made by the United Clock Corp under Westinghouse Electric Corp. Brooklyn. N.Y. in the late 1940s and early 1950s. This clock runs well and looks great for its age. The clock shows signs of life and needs a good cleaning. The base is wood and has some nicks and scrapes. Nothing that cannot be worked out. It has the No 315 on the backside of the wood. The horse shows patina and has lost some of its original color. It looks like someone tried to clean it up and did a poor job. I wiped it down. But that is as far as I wanted to do with this piece. It is missing its reins, which is small chain that can be easily replaced. The clock works and keeps time. It has all its original ... morepieces. The front glass is clear and no scratches. The movement is fine running and striking. The clock needs a good clean up and the cabinet a little bit attention. Tail bents a couple of mm to wards is not loose. I have up for sale a wonderful vintage circa 1900 give or take profusely decorated small size figural Carriage Clock. The clock is unmarked as far as I can see but documented as made by ANSONIA with the model name of COMET. This is a smaller size carriage clock. It stands only 3-1/2" tall- 4-3/4" to the top of the folding handle,weighs roughly 1 lb 7 oz as you see it. The clock comes direct from the private collection of 2 elderly local clock collectors. Matter of fact the clock was featured in a book that they wrote. Entitled SMALL CLOCK TICKERTAPE by Louise Dwortaschek, her husband Steve did the photography. The clock was shown on plate 53, page 20. The couple had well over 1000 clocks in their collection. It took 15 auctions to sell off their estate. This is just a drop dead gorgeous piece. Up for auction is this gorgeous Antique Sessions Mantel Clock. Fresh from farm estate. It measures 11 1/4" tall. 13 3/4" wide 5 3/4" deep. Clock has a paper label on back that has been taped and reads, Eight Day, Half-Hour Strike, Cathedral Gong Turn Back. THE SESSIONS CLOCK CO. Has wonderful sound when the striker hits the bell. The key and pendulum are present. The face shows some wear and the glass is cracked. I have up sale a very nice vintage Seth Thomas 8 Day Automatic Clock. 24 hour cycle- mahogany case with painted tin dial face. This is a good looking clock and is an unusual style for an alarm clock. The clock stands approx 6-1/2" tall including the little feet on the bottom, 6-1/2" wide, and approx 3-3/4" deep and weighs a little less than 3 lbs. The case is in great shape. Nice warm original finish as you can see. No damages to the wood and wear is very light. This is a really nice example. The dial face is hand painted on tin- any wear is light. The clock runs but for some reason the alarm does not ring. I can hear the alarm trigger but it does not ring- not sure what the problem is but it needs servicing and or repair.
