HUGE BONTEMS REUGE SINGING BIRD CAGE BIRD AUTOMATON MUSIC BOX (Watch video)
Rare and wonderful triple singing bird cage that was made during the acquisition transition of Bontems and Reuge in November. 1960. This is a beautiful and enormous singing bird cage automaton measuring two feet tall; dimensions in inches are 24 x 14 x 11.5. The birds retain their original feathers and are in excellent condition. I did replace the old faded foliage and flowers. I fully serviced(cleaned. Adjusted, lubricated) the mechanical movement and also restored the bellows and internal whistle air chamber so this bird cage operates perfectly. The highly decorative gesso base and gleaming cage are in excellent condition. Reuge acquired Bontems in 1960 and this automaton is clearly a design that Bontems was working on that Reuge finished. During this time. Automaton makers were experimenting with electricity and Bontems had yet to offer ... moresuch an automaton. The mechanism is a four cam, solid brass and partially pinned Bontems movement with leather covered wooden bellows- no plastic gears, cams or levers. The main difference is instead of a manually wound mainspring powering the movement, a Bontems factory designed French electric motor(Crouzet) was substituted. The motor is dated November, 1960. The mechanism and birds are 100% original to this automaton. What really makes this automaton special from a user perspective is with today's digital. Short cycle switch technology, you could easily plug this automaton into a short cycle switch that plugs into your DC outlet and instantly have the realistic sound of three singing birds that would cycle on/off on a pre-determined schedule. Imagine birds singing for one minute, off for two, sing for 30 seconds, off for one minute, five minutes, whatever. A manually wound automaton cannot offer such a wonderful and pleasing feature. Except for the enormous size. The three birds are designed similar to the birds used on other Reuge singing bird cages. Antique 1930's Victorian Ladies Desk Clock Case
Antique 1930's Victorian Ladies Steeple Clock Styled Desk Clock- Case only This case is a charming little tribute to the Steeple clock style and ladies' fashions of a by-gone era. The case is solid wood. I am not certain of the type of wood. But it is a warm honey finish. The finish has been cleaned and smoothed- not stripped- and dpoes retain the small grazing lines of its age, but these are very small and actually add to its character. The small tablet in the lower front contains a print of Victorian Ladies in full dress. This is a print placed behind an early form of plastic instead of glass. The side columns of the steeple design are lacking the finials- I presume they would have been of brass. The piece measures 6 1/2" tall x 4 3/4" wide x 2 3/8" deep. The serial number of this clock is 283470(pictures 2 and 3) and according to the book of George A. Everett it dates back to 1874. So this clock is about 140 years old! Junghaus Mantle mechanical hand-made German clock
This German made clock was made during the WWII period of a hard wood. Probably Walnut. It is in working order although need to be calibrated and the time is about 10 minutes slow. the original key is included and tape on the rear of the door. It has some minor imperfections and flaws. But otherwise perfectly balanced and in good condition, considering it’s age. Please bid accordingly. It is a vintage clock sold AS IS. The sound on the bell is beautiful and this is a sold German made precision mechanical movement clock. It is not battery operated.

Mantle hard wood clock. Probably walnut. this clock was hand made a a clock master form original parts, so there is no commercial label on it. The chimes work, and one of the wooden circular feet is missing. The clock is in working condition and the chimes work, although the time needs to be calibrated. this clock probably was made in the early 40’s, American made. Antique German Clock Movement FMS, DRGM Good to restore or Parts
This is quite interesting. You clock experts out there will probably know all about it. The movement has DRGM on it, it also has the rising wheel with a"H" hallmark. I believe this is used by the Thomas Haller Firm. The clock face has FMS with the flying wings similar to the Mercedes emblem. This was manufactured by a company called Mauthe. So the exact history of this face and movement I do not know. The face and movement may be a pair? I am not sure. When I located this item it was with an RA pendulum which did not fit. I would say this came out of a wall clock possibly a Vienna Regulator with a long ornate pendulum. Anyway happy biding. Feel free to give me any information about this movement if you know any Facts! Listed for auction is this awesome antique Victorian Cherub Mantel Clock. This clock is made of thick. Heavy cast bronze or brass and metal and has a gold finish throughout. I don't know if the mechanism is original to the clock but it appears to be. There is a wooden circular cover on the back as seen in photos. This clock has had some repairs throughout. A few brass screws, nuts and bolts have been replaced on clock frame. Overall condition of this wonderful clock is solid. I don't see any damage to the piece. Great detail on the clock. There is a cherub standing attached to the clock. It appears there might be a piece missing from one of the hands. The front glass cover is hinged and opens. Glass is in good condition. No cracks. Hands are in tact and appear to be original to the piece. Comes with key and pendulum. Don't know ... moreif they are original to the piece but they work. I wound the clock, attached pendulum and gave it a little push and it ran for several days without rewinding. Kept good time but was a little slow. I did not open clock or try to adjust it because I am not an expert. There is no guarantee for this clock. Lower front of clock is bronze or brass. Other parts are brass and metal. Measures approx. 11" wide at bottom x 6" deep x 11" tall including cherub.

If you will read my feedback you will see that I have 100% satisfied customers. I must clear all the clocks as I have someone wanting to rent the building. This one is an unmarked French Table or Mantle clock depicting St. George"The Dragon Slayer" I wound this clock and it has been running now for 13 consecutive ... moredays. Not sure how long the movement will run but obviously more than an 8 day movement. I have not tested for accuracy and their is no back to the clock so probably needs cleaning. The strike mechanism can be heard to click on the hour& half-hour but the strike arm will not raise. Also.Please excuse the dust. Gold painted metal with an onyx insert at the base with a pedestal holding the movement in a tin-can casing. Atop the clock is a fancy coat of arms. There is much ornate filigree, dragons& a statue of St. George in armor. There is a loose decorative piece on the left of the clock that I have shown in the pictures. I took pictures of the loose piece& the place where it will need to be soldered or somehow re-attached. please see last 3 pictures. Clock measures 15" H x 14-1/2" W x 5" Deep. The brass movement has the#2617 with no makers mark. The movement is running now for two weeks. Clock has it's brass bell& original adjustable pendulum with matching#2617. Beautiful Dated 1891 Flow Blue Mantle Clock With Gargoil
This is a lovely flow blue mantle clock that stands 8 1/4" high. It has a lovely shape and there is a gargoil on the top. But unfortunately the tips of the wings have been chipped off. There is also a chip on some of the flowers, but not very noticeable. This is a non working clock and has several patent dates dating from 1878-1891. A very lovely piece to display.

Antique Regulator clock. I am not sure if it is a Junghan's or a Kienzle. I have looked for a name. But cannot find anything. If the name is on the back of the works, I would have to take it out of the case, and I really don't want to do that. I am inclined to go with a Jungan. Has the R=H pendulum and 24 hour red numbers. This was bought in 2005 by a friend and I bought it from him. It ran fine but now it won't stay running.I have not done anything with it as to getting it repaired, so I can't tell you what the problem is.The mount that holds the works do not have the original screws. I don't know if there are any other replacement parts or non original parts. I think the two finials at the bottom of the clock are replacements. It is a pretty large clock. It is impressed on the bottom with the numbers 8784& a smaller number 6 or 9. The case is 5 3/4" high x 4 1/4" across the bottom and 5 3/4" across the top. It is a little under 1 3/4" wide. It holds a nice Brass cased New Haven clock. The dial of clock is marked on the bottom border, Made by the New Haven Clock Co. Marked below the 12 o'clock position in a blue circular mark with a white 6 point star in the center, 1817 New Haven 1855, It also features a second hand dial. Clock is working, ticking away strong. This is clock absolutely gorgeous from its cloisone to its hand painted porcelain face and pendulum to its bevel glass panels. When I purchased it I was told it was working but I have only had it on display but whenever I move it runs for short spell so I think it will but it might need cleaning and adjusting. I have left everything original including the brass.There are some scratches in the brass and needs some polishing. The clock is very beautiful. This is a Bigelow Kennard table or mantle clock with a Waltham movement that is a little bigger than a 18 size pocket watch.Maybe a car clock movement. It is running and keeping good time. The stem is on the bottom and works like a stem wind pocket watch. The frame is 7 inches by 9 1/2 inches. The frame looks like it needs to be repaired. The glass is very good, the base is very good. A very unusual clock that I have seen very few of. I am thinking made around 1920, that is from the movement. The total height is 10 1/2 inches. The black enamel style finish is very nice with just a slight bit of scratches as pictured. Clock is running but has not been timed. Mainspring barrel is marked Jaeger-Lecoultre Swiss, base is also marked Swiss Made by JL 215.019. Nice vintage condition. I can see some glue residue under the front plexiglass/ acrylic crystal and on the bezel edge- nothing major. Approx 5-1/4" wide and stands approx. 5-1/2" tall. A truly stunning Lecoultre clock with the desirable Jaeger markings. 16 Jewel movement. From what I have seen online this style is selling in the range of $1500- $3000 and those are the ones that are all brass and not with the black enamel style finish.
