This is an unusual movement. So read description carefully! This auction is for a Guilumet antique French movement. Bezel and dial. It has mystery clock plates front and back. But was originally finished with a conventional gear train. The strike train is identical to his more famous mystery clock, while the time train features a Brocot escapement instead of the far more complicated mystery clock escapement. The pendulum length is 11.4 french inches wich is pretty close to American inches. The clock movement fits in a 4 3/4 in hole Dial is 5 1/4 in dia. Plates are 4 1/2 in dia. Dial has had all the numbers washed off. But since it was acid etched originally all the numbers and lines are still visible The dial center engine turning is still in good condition. ANTIQUE MAHOGANY CASE CLOCK W/KEY, GLASS DOOR FRONT, 23" TALL #117MS
This is an antique mahogany case clock. I can't find a name on it. It's approximately 23" tall. It's 14-3/4" long at the longest point and 5" wide. It has the key with it. I'm not sure if it works. I don't know much of anything about clocks. I didn't want to overwind it but I was able to easily turn the keyhole on the 8 and when I swung the pendulum it ticked for a while and the hands moved a bit. I could not easily turn the keyhole on the 4, so I didn't try anymore. I don't know if possibly the brass face plate is not original because there are screws where there apparently were not screw holes. And screw holes without screws(hope that makes sense) please see photo 5. The finial on the very top has the tip of it broken, and the tip is broken off the suspended finial on the right side. An antique wall clock which we believe to be German. Measuring about 44" tall, 15" wide, and 6.5" deep. It is not signed by the maker, but the movement serial number is 47607, and there is a"7" stamped above it. The clock is in good working order and a key will be included. Cosmetically, the condition is very good- there is a bit of wear and scratching to the finish of the case, particularly on one side(pictured) but there are no major problems we can see. American Antique cast iron Parlour clock Alarm & unusual winding hole positions
A delicate cast iron clock intended for parlour or bedroom as it has an alarm. alarm mechanism is functional but spring slips on winding so it will not ring for more than a second or two until the dspring is relocated into the winder. Main mechanism runs but needs oiling and cleaning. Which the purchaser will have to do if they want the clock to run reliably. My husband pought this because of the unusual position of winding holes and because also of the skeletonised centre. Which he said was rarely for sale. Also as the alarm dial hand is present and sets on a shaft at the rear(knob missing) Dimensions are: 14 inches High by 12 inches wide by 3 inches deep Packed weight is over 4 Kg so postage is not cheap.

Sedan Clock with large Verge Fusee movement Late 18th early 19 Century
This time piece mounted in a marble stand is a"Sedan Clock" The timeframe for this was the last quarter of the 18th century through the first of the 19th until about 1830. It features a large Verge Fusee movement similar to a large watch of that time. From the style of movement and type of regulator it is known as a Bosley. Its inventor. The elegant engraving"Jas Roberts, London" refers to it's maker, James Roberts. However several watch/clock makers of that name appear in Loomes and Baillie. Sometimes these are used for mantels and are referred to as"Cottage Clocks" This seems to be the case here.The marble lintel is cracked and glued and the watch is not running. The timepiece is 3" in diameter. The overall dimension of the frame is 11 x 7 9/16" The clock is loose in the cavity. The movement is ... morein a brass casing that surrounds the works from the face back, making it 1 1/8" deep. There is a cover for the rear of the casing. It is a French clock with 8-day Paris movement that chimes the hours and the halves. There are some small chips along the front. Left corner edge of the clock base, but they blend-in with the surface. The clock mechanism appears to be overwound and therefore we are selling it with the clock needing service. There is a bell inside and behind it. There appears to be a pendulum which swings when you lift the clock. When you move the hands manually around the dial, something starts inside and then the bell chimes multiple times, so some parts are working, even though the clock is not keeping time at all. They are in excellent antique condition. The clockworks are from the highly regarded clockmaker Franz Hermle& Sons in Germany. The detailed brass case is in very good antique condition with no damage. It also shows a very nice medium bronze patina. The 8 day time and strike clockworks run as they should and keep good time. Clock has open escapment. Clock has a wonderful floral design with bright colors. On the front of clock at bottom the are some white lines in the water. No sure if this is supose to be waves or scratches in the paint ware. The back cover of clock is off and will not stay in place. Has dowels in the two holes. Other than the scratches? clock is nice, there are no chips or cracks in the case. Large clock measures 15" tall and is 12" across. The clock will only run for a few minitues, may just need cleaned ... moredo not know. All time pieces we list are pre-owned and old. Vintage, or antique.
