Shaped like a Monument its case is a grand empire style crystal and elegantly thin indeed. It will not need servicing as it runs as long as you continue to wind it regularly with a lovely little ticking noise. It has Made in Germany on the dial. The chrome clock face surround is shiny and in good nick indeed. On the back the winder. Knob and screws are all intact. I've listed this one a bit higher because it is in really good shape. Antique/Vintage Rare Meiji Black Adamantine Mantel Clock Working well. This unique black and gold mantel clock is not an American model from the turn of the century. Instead it is a MEIJI. Which is a Japanese clock company making clocks before the second world war. See the brand on the movement inside. But it looks like a Waterbury, Seth Thomas or the like. It has a shiny black adamantine case which is great condition for its age. Many of these old ones have thin restored adamantine but this one seems to be as thick and gleaming as it always was. Of course it has knocks and bumps commensurate with its age but they add character and it still looks really great. The decorations of columns and added metal have been gilded with proper gilding paste which has them glowing luxuriously gold. It has a bright clean shiny bezel and convex glass which ... moreopens and closes nice and snugly. This clock is not only classy it works extremely well counting out the hours on the hour and the half hour on its beautiful resonating cathedral gong. It goes for 8 days after winding fully and is supplied with key and pendulum bob. If you have been umming and ahhing about buying a clock, here it is, the one you've been waiting for. Up for Auction is a Vintage/Antique Die Cast Art Bronze Desk Clock. Works Nice! Beautiful Piece! It is in great shape and I see no damage except for some tiny scratches on the bronze. It was made by the Ansonia Clock CO. New York. The Bronze is etched on back DIE CAST ART BRONZE CORP. Jamestown New York. It also has KOPPERS COKE Twin City on a metal tag. I do not know the age of it but would say that it is an older piece. I can not find another piece like it. The Bronze case has ix sides and pictures on each side. The pictures are Independence Hall, Benjamin Franklin, William Penn, Liberty Bell, Carpenters Hall and George Washington. This wall clock had been a family clock for a years. My grand grand father had bought it(don't know the maker or where he had bought it. Only know that it is that old) Probably t was made during the 1930's or 1940's, as far as I'm familiar with it. It had been at my grand father room since the 50's, and I remember that he got it as a family treasure. The mechanism had been removed few years ago, since it had stopped working, so it is not running right now, but probably can be repaired to work again by placing a new clock mechanism. otherwise, this wall clock wooden case/box is in great condition, only few little scratches made during the long years(which can be seen on the photos) I hope I provide enough photos to represent it as closely as I can. I also snap the interior of the case, so it could be seen on the inside ... moretoo. The material is wood with a combination of decorated glass(on the front, represented as a circle where the clock numbers used to be seen, and on the bottom part of the front, where is decoration with fish) The color is dark brown, with ocher/yellow on the upper front part of the clock. Antique Victorian Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. Mantle Clock - Wood & Brass
A beautiful Victorian clock is up for your consideration. This must have been one exquisite clock when it was brand new as the beauty still shows. It was made by the Gilbert Clock Co. out of Winsted. Conn. USA. There is a paper sticker on the back which reads L. J. Diehl Jeweler and Optician and a pencil mark which reads either 1914 or 1915. This may have been the place of purchase or may have been there for maintenance or repair. On the bottom of the clock is a paper sticker as well which tells the manufacturer and the word FRANCE which may be the style name. The clock is large and heavy measuring 15-1/2" long at the base, stands 11-1/2" and the depth is 6" The clock is made primarily of black wood with a maroon marble color wood both above and below the pillars in front. It has brass legs, pillar trim, side handles and the ... moretrim around the clock face. There is scroll work on the front bottom and hopefully you can see that in the third picture. The clock will run for a couple minutes and stop, maybe it has been over wound. It does ding once on the half hour and dongs on the hour, two times for two o'clock, three times for three o'clock and so on. The clock mechanism itself looks fine and reads Gilbert Clock Co. and there is a 1905 imprint, perhaps the year it was made. Bascially the clock is in good condition for its age but there is no glass clock face cover and there is no key for winding. Thank you for looking.

Two bobbing birds who are feeding the chicks in the nest, and a musician who appears at his own door when the delightful music box plays. On each hour the painted Cuckoo Bird opens his door. Bows, and chirps out the time. At each chirp the cathedral type coiled gong also sounds. As the Cuckoo sings, the two carved birds below the face bob up and down as if feeding the chicks in the nest. Once the Cuckoo has counted out the hour of day he closes his door and the musician appears at the other door. At this time the delightful music box plays a tune. After which the musician closes his door until the next performance. On each half hour the Cuckoo appears again ... moreand utters a single"coo-coo" and the two birds bob up and down again. The tune played on the Swiss made music box is"Tales of the Vienna Woods" There is a night latch to silence the cuckoo and music if required. This is a very special clock and a thing of wonder to see in action The movement is solid brass. And the case is made from Linden wood. The three weights are metal cast in the traditional pinecone shape. Note that this is a genuine vintage German made. Weight driven cuckoo clock, not the battery operated quartz type now being mass produced. CONDITION: As can be seen from the photographs. This clock is in great overall condition and makes a beautiful display. T he clockwork movement and music box have recently been oiled. Adjusted and tested, and are running very well. ANTIQUE CLOCK: French Ormolu Case. Gilt Bronze, 1800's. Great Patina,New Movement This is a wonderful Antique French Clock in the Rococo Revival Style. The case is fine ormolu. Mercury gilded bronze. I believe it dates to the 1800's. It has been fitted with a new movement and keeps perfect time. Very often these fine cases were made in France to be exported and sold in the United States. I believe this is the case with this particular clock. As it came from the estate sale of the scion of an old and prosperous Boston family. It is extremely well modeled and cast. Featuring design elements on all four sides. At first glance. These decorations seem to be symmetrical. But they are not. For example. The foliage on the front surrounding the central scallop shell is slightly different from side to side. This is true of all of the foliage ... moredecorations on all four sides of the case. This slight variation from side to side avoids the static effect of absolute symmetry, which can be deadening, even in decorative objects such as this fine clock. At the very top is a wonderful finial. Also asymmetrical, featuring what looks like a Tulip blossom. This rests on a neo-classical, fluted Doric capital. This clock is rather large. Measuring 14 1/4 inches tall, 9 3/8 inches wide at the bottom of the front feet and 4 3/4 inches deep between the front and back feet. There is no damage to this clock at all; it stands straight and secure. Some purists lament the fact that I sometimes place new movements in these beautiful old clock cases. But. As is often the case, the original movement of this clock was broken and corroded beyond all hope of repair. So my thinking is that with the new movement, this beautiful object can be returned to its functional purpose; that is, to tell the time. Which is does perfectly and beautifully. This clock has all of the charm and beauty of a 19th Century Antique Clock without any of the troublesome concerns often associated with such. And it never needs winding. I will. Here we have a very unusual 1930's era ~ ART DECO EGYPTIAN REVIVAL FIGURAL LAMP WITH A CLOCK ~ that we just acquired out of an estate this week. The clock is signed CAPITOL CLOCK CORP. NEW YORK. This has a wonderful Art Deco Egyptian Revival look. And we have never seen another one like it! It looks to be made out of primarily spelter and brass. It appears to be in pretty nice original condition with the exception of it looks like it originally had a lamp shade on it and shows a little expected wear from age and use. The frame for the shade and adjustment mechanism is still all there. We plugged the lamp in, and it does work. There is a switch on the back to turn the lights on and off. To get the clock started we had to flick the little lever on the back a few times, but once it started it ran just fine" so the motor is fine" ... moreWe tested it several times and it worked every time. The lamp stands approximately 22 inches tall by 11 inches wide and 5 inches deep" at the base" The frame for the shade measures 9 by 9 inches.
